  1. I don't often complain about concession prices, but plan ahead and bring in your own bottled water. IMO, it's the most overpriced item in the park.
  2. I take it you haven't seen Brad Zimanek's horrible column in Sunday's Post-Crescent. Among other things, he complains that Miller Park's escalators are going down (he wanted to go up) at the start of the ninth inning. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Would it be possible to update the salary page sometime to include the entire 25-man roster?
  3. What's the deal with Hernandez? He batted righty his first time up and batted lefty his second time up, even though he was facing the righthanded Yates both times.
  4. How about Mike Adams as a callup? He's on the 40-man roster and is doing well. According to this site, Durrington has an option. He wouldn't have to be DFA'd if the Brewers went to the 40-man roster for help.
  5. Obviously, the defense was the prime reason for the big inning.
  6. I'll blame Yost but I won't blame Bennett. I agree with the post that said that Kieschnick should have hit in the 7th, then pitched. By the way, did anyone catch the conversation between Daron and Bill about OPS? I didn't catch what brought it up, but Bill said he wasn't very interested in the stat at all. I would think announcers would be interested in discussing most stats.
  7. We should be 5 hours behind GMT during daylight time and 6 hours behind during standard time. According to my clock, posts are being stamped about 23 hours and 54 minutes ahead.
  8. I'm sure it has to do with ezboard's upgrades and maintenance. There may be forum members who didn't know that was going on. The only reason I knew was that I logged into the Control Center a day or two ago, something I rarely do. I'm sure it'll get ironed out.
  9. The post times are still off on my end, too.
  10. One thing that pleased me was that Sutton and Schroeder talked about the importance of OBP almost immediately in the beginning of the broadcast, and discussed how it was especially important to this year's team. Ben Grieve also talked about its importance in the post-game interview. But I noted later on that Schroeder is still hung up on fielding percentage as the only thing determining a player's defensive value.
  11. Ben only gave up 3 walks. Burba accounted for the other two walks given up today.
  12. Since you're planning modifications to the code, it'd be a good time to make sure all images have an "alt" attribute. Today, when the images went away, that would have ensured that the links would have still been useful. It's a good accessibility idea, anyway.
  13. The end of the article states, "with the forced resignation of president Ulice Payne, the chances have greatly lessened for a Stars game at Milwaukee's Miller Park this summer. Payne was trying to organize a two-game series in which Huntsville and Birmingham would play one regular season game in Milwaukee and another at Chicago, home of the Barons' parent club." Maybe something will still work out.
  14. Thanks for the response. That came to mind, but I wanted to be sure. It's amazing that I couldn't find that simple tidbit with an internet search.
  15. Here's a question I couldn't find answered anywhere: In the case of a tie in the standings (Baltimore/Texas & St. Louis/LA in '03), how are the draft positions determined? This might be a good addition to the draft section of the Brewerfan.net FAQ.
  16. Navigation links, like you have on the rest of the site's pages, would be a nice addition to the FAQ.
  17. Because of the excellent effort by the moderators on this board, duplicate threads on Brewerfan.net are a much less annoying problem than they are on almost every other message board I've ever seen. Two of the Molitor threads popped up within a minute of each other, so no one can really be blamed. I don't see where there's much that could have been done there unless one would have been locked immediately. The third took a completely different angle. It might have made sense to post the topic in an existing thread, but then the new idea could have sidetracked the previous discussion. Six of one, half a dozen of the other, I guess. Is there any way that moderators can combine threads without getting participants completely lost?
  18. I hope I have the right thread, but since the stickies by definition are right at the top, I should be close enough. I think a Site Map would be a good idea. Most accessibility guidelines encourage including one, and I know I look for them when I get to a complicated site. It could even become more valuable if we're allowed to customize the main page. It'd be an alternative to be able to see all that's available. Question: Does EZBoard let you customize at all? Tool tips for the emoticons would be handy. (I believe it involves adding the 'title' attribute, but I'm not 100% sure.)
  19. You're right; two outs--good idea. Jim Powell kind of implied that when he said the baserunner was exactly what the Cubs wanted.
  20. Any comments on the play following Gonzalez being hit by the pitch? Sutton and Schroeder were downright indignant about the so-called slide he made into Hall attempting to break up the double play. When I checked out the other broadcasts, Pat Hughes and Ron Santo said little except that the umps were warning everyone to keep themselves under control. Jim Powell said Gonzalez threw his body into Hall's, then threw his arm straight up, and was clearly out of the baseline. He wasn't wound up like the TV announcers, but felt the play clearly violated the rules. My guess is that nothing further happened because there was no injury and the double play was turned anyway.
  21. I don't know about every day, but I'd love to see Brooks get an occasional start, especially in Wrigley.
  22. I don't know about every day, but I'd love to see Brooks get an occasional start, especially in Wrigley.
  23. I've occasionally listened to the WTMJ broadcast over the net and the problem hasn't occurred. Must be some kind of bug tonight.
  24. Anyone who performs decently as the Brewer 4th or 5th starter deserves a bandwagon. September will increase his sample size; I hope Davis deserves the chance to win a job in spring training. I don't think 126 pitches in one game where a pitcher looks good is too much. It's 130-plus game in and game out where the guy struggles that I'd worry.
  25. Well, I'm no pitching coach, but I'd guess the logic may have been: 1. He was showing no signs of wearing down. 2. Each of his innings was pretty easy; no jams to speak of. 3. He really doesn't throw that hard.
