  1. It used to work; it appears to be 'broken'. Note that I (among many others) don't have any status at all. I used to at one point, and 100 posts changed my status.
  2. I don't think the browser makes a whole lot of difference. When the code function is used, ezBoard turns it into pretty standard HTML. I looked at this page in 3 different browsers (Firefox, Safari, IE-Mac) and there was no real difference. If 'coded' text looks obnoxious to an individual user, s/he can try changing the browser settings to a different monospaced font.
  3. It appears that you've simply hit the enter (or return) key two too many times. You can see that this looks fine: There is a big space between this line and the next line.... See What you likely did was this: There is a big space between this line and the next line.... RETURN RETURN See Unlike writing regular text in a post, when you use the 'code' function, every space and return means something.
  4. The huge space your eye perceives between the words is normal. You're not doing anything wrong. It's the consequence of of your browser displaying the text in a monospaced font. It simply doesn't stand out so much in the box scores. Look at something created on a typewriter. You'll see the same effect.
  5. brewcrewkid14, I checked the source code of this page. It appears that the text of the box score you used wasn't lined up properly. (Actually it wasn't lined up at all.) When you're using the code function (or the HTML 'pre' tag), if the text isn't lined up properly, simply insert spaces until everything looks right. If your original text is really a mess, it's probably easier to do this work in a word processor or text editor using a monospace font (like Monaco). That way each character (or space) will be the same width; things will be really easy to line up.

  11. An odd twist on the subject of 'status'... There's a new participant in the Ben Grieve/Brady Clark Platoon thread over on the Major League forum. He's posted twice to the thread, yet both of his posts indicate that he's only posted to the forums one time.
  12. mothership and I appear to be among the many with no designation on this board. Anyway, I only look at post numbers when a name I don't recognize comes up with a strong statement defying common sense.
  13. No lineups yet on MLB.com. Does anyone know where else they might be available?
  14. In addition to "Rookie," I remember seeing "Regular" and "All Star" on posts in the past. They're not there now. I was just curious what happened to them.
  15. I understood your points. I've seen your posts in the past and you do normally type and spell better! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. Actually Bob Uecker turned 69 on January 26th of this year. I should clarify my previous Craig Coshun post a little. It almost sounded like Craig was unbearable, too. I could deal with what he did.
  17. That's when I lose it, not just with Daron and Bill, but with so many reporters doing their so-called jobs. I remember a friend calling me in shock during the OJ trial. She watched her video tape of the proceedings, then watched a news report. She said, "That isn't what happened!!!" I told her she should watch more sports. Sports broadcasts provide definitive examples of how the media messes up. They don't care about details or even what they say. And they're willing to repeat the same misstatements over and over again. Hey, that's news in general.
  18. I can put up with segments having nothing to do with baseball, but Bob makes them so much worse. Craig Coshun did that type of stuff and it wasn't nearly as obnoxious. I think the Brewers (or FOX Sports Net...whichever entity hires those announcers) should just give Lisa Dergan that job and be done with it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  19. I tried doing an internet search, but it didn't help. Is it Brainerd or Brainard?
  20. Bob's father-in-law bailed him out of something that could have been much, much worse. I have to think 'Dad' knew he had to do something.
  21. 29 pitches through 3 innings.
  22. 9:00 PM CDT (I'm being picky...it's daylight time. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif)
  23. Excellent article! Great job, Bill.
  24. I'd like to say I took the quotes out of context, but I didn't. I was riding in the car, which is why I could memorize the first one but had to paraphrase the second. The subject came up when a caller complained about Ben Grieve taking pitches and saying "That's why Lou Piniella got rid of him". Somehow the idea that Piniella isn't always that on the ball was missed. My theory is that the real reason Lou didn't like Grieve is that Ben looks like a zombie while he's batting. I don't really care how Ben looks. The fact that Grieve might be 'too patient' might even have a shred of validity; batters have to adjust to a situation. But it's sure a whole lot better than the other way around. I'd take a player with an OBP 126 points above his BA (like Ben) over the guys Milwaukee had a few years ago...I don't remember the year, but I remember the team...most of the lineup was batting over .300 but the Brewers weren't scoring runs or winning games. That's when I started taking OBP seriously, and I'm glad that more people are buying into it. Now, let's convince Michaels (if that's possible).
  25. Quoth Bill Michaels (just a few minutes ago): And paraphrasing Bill Michaels:
