  1. Strange play. Tyler Holt attempted to steal home while Alfredo Simon was batting. Simon squared to bunt and was hit by the pitch. Holt had to go back to third.
  2. Hill's infield single would have been worthy of a challenge if it were allowed.
  3. Yeah, I thought it was pretty clear that Villar was out — after having the benefit of seeing the replays, of course. The replay on Carter was more interesting. Votto simply failed to touch first… by a hair. At any rate, the Reds are out of challenges.
  4. The upside to the lettering is that it's readable from the Loge level. But yeah, my first thought when I saw the uniforms last night was that they looked like batting practice uniforms. I'm not surprised that they actually are. They're a little far out for frequent game usage.
  5. I'm not sure if I heard the stat right last night or not, but I thought I heard the Brewers had the best bullpen in the last 20 games. I'm not sure if I'm remembering this right either. But if I'm remembering correctly, the Brewers pitchers — starters and relievers combined — have the best team ERA in games since May 10. That probably doesn't include last night's game.
  6. I'm assuming that is a typo on the original writeup but apparently Chase lost his Sox. Fixed (sox changed to six).
  7. Have we seen these uniforms before? They weren't mentioned on the TV broadcast at all.

  9. Give or take a day, Domingo would be eligible to come off the DL about June 4th. I haven't seen an injury report, though, so it's tough to say what kind of progress he's making. They're telling us that Will Smith could be activated during this homestand. That'd be cool.
  10. Alternate blues - 16 This can be broken down further: Alternate blues (Milwaukee script / MB logo) - 14 Alternate blues (Brewers script / barley logo) - 2
  11. The Diamondbacks are paying $6.5 million of Hill's $12 million salary. That leaves $5.5 million for the Brewers and a potential trading partner to play around with.
  12. I think that multiple uniform options are here to stay. Fans and players seem to like having choices. I'd liken this to a favorite food. If it were all you ate, you'd become bored, and it'd stop being your favorite. I'd like to know why the players are picking this jersey/cap combo. Is it the logo, the blue, the script, the fact that it says "Milwaukee," or something else? It does seem that we're seeing the Ball & Glove more and more often. It's the logo used on the Miller Park scoreboard too.

  14. The Cardinals, Mets, and Diamondbacks also have more 2016 wins at Turner than the Braves. The Nationals and Red Sox have 2-0 records. The two teams with the distinction of having lost a game there are the Dodgers and Phillies.
  15. Pete Rose was named manager in August, but he continued to play. Joe Torre became manager of the Mets in May but retired as a player 18 days later.
  16. The look on Wily's face after he knocked in two runs to tie the game was a Kodak moment too.
  17. In 16 games: 24 innings is good. 27 strikeouts is good. 15 walks is too many. 7 home runs is bad. I think he's been more useful than harmful, but I'm not doing cartwheels or anything. Here's his game log: http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/5469/year/2016/chris-capuano You be the judge.
  18. The look on Wily's face after Flowers' two-run homer was definitely a Kodak moment.
  19. The Braves have only won twice at Turner Field all year. That's a record for whatever number of games they've played.
  20. The first out of the game has been overturned upon review. I assume that we have a different first base ump tonight.
  21. Cappy's suffering from left elbow soreness. Brewers place Capuano on 15-day DL, recall Goforth
  22. If [the Mets are] only going to play him as a 1B, why not just ask for Chris Carter? Of course, this thread is all about rumors and proposals, so we're rarely operating with information that's very solid. But bringing Lucroy to the Mets and getting him going at 1B would make sense. He'd need time to learn the pitching staff, and the Mets could use a first baseman in the short term. He could be phased into the catching position as time goes on.
