  1. The Seattle Pilots had a song. Audio: Lyrics: Go, Go You Pilots! You proud Seattle team. Go, Go You Pilots! Go out and build a dream. You brought the majors to the Evergreen Northwest. Now Go, Go You Pilots! You’re going to be the best. Welcome the Yankees With pinstripe suits and all. Red Sox and Royals From April ‘till the Fall. American Leaguers You’ve got what’s know as class. So, welcome to Seattle It’s going to be a gas. Go, Go, Go, Go, Go, Go, Go, Go Now Go, Go You Pilots! You’re going to be the best. White Sox and Tigers The Angels and the A’s. See them at the ballpark On those good ol’ summer days. Orioles and Senators The Indians and Twins Our Pilots ask no favors As they battle you for wins. So Go, Go You Pilots! You proud Seattle team. Go, Go You Pilots! It’s time to shout and scream. We’re with you Pilots You’re big league all the way. So Go, Go You Pilots! Go, Go You Pilots! Go, Go You Pilots! When the umpire hollers, “play!”

  3. Calling a post ridiculous is unnecessary condescension, especially when it's used as the topic sentence. Obviously, responding with "bite me" isn't any better. At any rate, getting back to trwi7's point, I think you have a mess if the pitching is too ineffective. You're going to have a bunch of tired out pitchers, and you're going to be making way too many roster moves to deal with the situation. While I don't think a guy like Nieuwenhuis is likely to get much in a trade, it's possible that a bullpen pitcher might bring back something worthwhile.
  4. Big smile for Broxton. First MLB hit is a bunt to load the bases.
  5. Yeah, that check swing that was called a ball should have resulted in a strikeout.
  6. Yeah, Green Bay's Channel 11 is VHF, and VHF channels can throw a monkey wrench into your plans. In Milwaukee, Channel 10 is VHF. There's also a second VHF channel in Milwaukee (68) that would have a much smaller potential audience. If the VHF channel is nearby, a UHF antenna might pick it up. Otherwise, you need a bulkier and more expensive antenna designed for VHF. I mentioned in another topic that my moderately priced indoor UHF antenna will pick up Channel 10 on the second floor but not on the first floor. I've always thought that the Internet portion of my Time Warner bill has been fine. It's the $100 for cable programming and equipment rental that bugs me. Plus, I have Netflix, Hulu, and MLB.tv on top of that. Dropping those wouldn't make sense as I spend at least as much time watching them as I do cable.
  7. We missed the death of Doris Roberts, 90, on April 18th. Doris Roberts, Mother on ‘Everybody Loves Raymond,’ Dies at 90 Roberts was nominated for seven Emmys for her role as "Marie Barone" on [cite]Everybody Loves Raymond[/cite], winning four times. She also won an Emmy for her portrayal of a homeless woman on a 1983 episode of [cite]St. Elsewhere[/cite]. In the 1980s, she played "Mildred Krebs" on [cite]Remington Steele[/cite]. In the 1970s, she was faith healer "Dorelda Doremus" on [cite]Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman[/cite]. She was originally intended to play "Vivian" on [cite]Maude[/cite]. However, the powers that be decided that her on-screen personality was too much like that of Bea Arthur, and Rue McClanahan was cast to play the role instead.

  9. Aaron Hill's a busy guy tonight. First, it was the unassisted double play at third. Now, it's a great catch behind second on a shift.
  10. Seven consecutive strikeouts for Teherán, along with a 15⅔ innings scoreless streak.
  11. There's nothing like an unassisted double play at third base to clean up a bases loaded no out mess.
  12. ROUND 40: Kyle Serrano, RHP 6'3", 195, R/R, University of Tennessee (Knoxville, Tennessee) Hometown: Knoxville, Tennessee DOB: 07/06/1995 (Knoxville News Sentinel) SCOUTING REPORT: MLB.com Rank: 161 Scouting grades: Fastball: 60 | Curveball: 55 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 45 | Overall: 45 Had he not been intent on playing for his father Dave, the head coach at Tennessee, Serrano might have been a first-round pick out of high school in 2013. Neither he nor the Volunteers have enjoyed as much success as hoped, however, and his 2016 season ended after one start with an elbow injury that required Tommy John surgery in March. Serrano looked like a potential early-round pick again last summer in the Cape Cod League. He sat in the low 90s and reached 96 mph with sink and tail on his fastball. He can manipulate his power breaking ball into a curve with downward break or a slider with more velocity, and both grade as plus pitches when he can land them in the strike zone -- which he doesn't do consistently. Besides improving his control and command, Serrano also needs to refine and trust his changeup. Despite his ups and downs and his elbow reconstruction, there's a sense that he could be fare better in pro ball than he did in college pitching for his dad. A good impression in the Cape can outweigh a disappointing spring, and he still could go in the first five rounds.
