  1. BRADY!!!!!!!!! ITS A RUN SCORING BONAZA!!!!!
  2. *rubs eyes* a game with good pitching and good hitting? *knock on wood*
  3. welcome back damian miller. slump over!
  4. Reds hitters don't look too good up there. Maybe they spent all night at rain and are tired now.... BILLY!!!!!!!
  5. lol, jim powell is making fun of the positive messages on the back of the baseball cards they are giving out today. I always laughed when darron read the promo for those.
  6. Looks like this will be a high scoring series with the way the reds are pitching, the brewers are hitting, and the way the reds are hitting. Hopefully bernie wears out the slide tonight. prediction: Jenks goes deep once, Rickie twice.
  7. Ah a very nice win by the brewers. Cappy excellent. The hitting continues to roll and the reds pitching staff is next. Yeah! I hope to see prince in the 5 hole next game. I have a feeling Ned won't just because this lineup is scoring runs, but it still should be done. The road trip as a whole was unfortunate. A D- if you were to grade it. Bad, but not a complete failure. Tough test though. Still 8-7 and only 2 games out of first. I really have a feeling the crew is really going to take it to the reds. I'm excited for the next series.
  8. Wow, i never thought a team could put this many runs in back to back games against this staff. Starting to think i had this team all wrong. I stopped watching after the 2nd inning. Then my friend made me watch the 8th starting at the cirrilo bat. Then i turned it off again. Then he made me watch again after the Lee homer in the 9th. So I don't have much insight to give. I don't even know if i wanna watch tomorrow. This team is such a tease.
  9. I'm pretty bad at math, but i believe that would be a 4-5 trip. And against those three teams on the road, yes i would consider a 4-5 trip a success.
  10. This one hurt very bad. Most likely the Brewers will be heading out of houston 7-8 (if they are lucky 8-7). Seems like this early tough road trip is a test the brewers have failed. Hope I'm very wrong, but I think its going to be tough for the brewers to jump off the mat after a loss this tough at the end of a fairly long road trip. A few observations. Why was JJ playing so deep in the hole to seemingly ever batter tonight? How many hits did the Astros have out of the reach of JJ up the middle? Atleast 4. I don't blame Ned for leaving wise in. The bullpen is short and he is your second best reliever. That being said i would have gone with Lehr in the 7th and Wise in the 8th instead of planning on wise pitching two innings. Youre gonna burn out Matty that way. Horrible call by the ump on the ball coming out of fielder's glove. Really a bad bad call. As for complaining about ned not arguing enough? What's that gonna change honestly. He got is answer and i'm sure he'll talk to that ump about it tomorrow. Close call might go the brewers way later in this series. Catch more calls with honey then vinager. Darron really annoyed me tonight and for the most part I enjoy his pbp. All the Dave Bush man love is getting really old really fast. Honestly you don't have to tell me 10 different times during the game that he prepares for games by working out. I got it. Also he used to be a catcher. Great, don't need to hear that 20 times. He said the Jason Lane homer was KILLED as he was rounding the bases. Now I was already ticked off that a ball which is an out in every other ballpark in the majors (save fenway--probably off the wall there) was a go ahead homer, but then to have the brewers pbp guy to say that ball was killed just added to my frustration. Dave Bush. I'm not impressed. He consistly misses spots and really got lucky tonight. Tons of ball left over the plate that the astros didn't take advantage of. Maybe he was just had two off starts in a row, but so far i see a guy with command which is iffy with a low 90s fastball and an overrated by darron and bill curve ball. Actually the few change ups i saw him throw were dead on location wise. I don't know why he doesn't throw that pitch more. Time to move Fielder back to the 5 hole before Lee never sees a pitch to hit again with first base open. 5 hole is seemingly a black hole. Fielder struggled from there moved down and got hot. Koskie was hot, moved the 5 hole and now is ice cold. Nevertheless, move Fielder back up. Good to see Jenkins and Lee pretty hot at the same time. Probably 9 times out of 10 the brewers scored 7 runs or better this year they are gonna win. Its early, still over .500, tough road trip, yada yada yada. This loss was very tough to watch. Yeah! Now we get to face roy oswalt! Ugh.
  11. I want good Dave Bush. Kinda scary how night and day he was with his control in his first two starts. So hopefully they can light up this new kid and keep a weaker offense then we've seen the last two series down. Really a key game of this series. Don't want to be down 0-1 then have to beat a teams top two pitchers (one being roy oswalt) to win the series.
  12. Yuck. I was real excited to watch this game and felt like the brewers were gonna take this series. Sheets looked pretty good. One big mistake to Nady, but besides that his stuff was good. Not the pin point control we're used to but that will come the more starts he gets. Gotta give it up to the mets today. A bunch of talented hitters in that lineup (even with no Beltran today!) They took advantage of every mistake the brewers made today. Which is the exact opposite of what the brewers did. Frustrating to watch! Bannister was awful today and the brewers didn't take advantage. The Ks with a man on third and one out was the worst. When you can score runs by simply making productive outs you have to take advantage. Overall a tough start road trip so far but not completely unexpected. Cards are the cards and the mets have the best record in baseball. Good team are hard to beat on the road. Would have been nice to take one of these series though. If the brewers take the series against the astros I think you can still consider it a successful trip. 7-5 still only a game out of first. One series left on this tough trip. Time to dig deep.
  13. Interesting indeed. Maybe a little punishment for the Weeks error? I hope gross can handle CF defensively.
  14. Happy Easter all. I'm real excited about watching ben pitch today. Two things I worry about though.... 1 Ben's first inning of work. He's gonna be amped. I think he may have control problems in the first inning. 2 A young team had a whole night to spend in NYC. Something tells me they didn't spend all night in their hotel rooms going over game film. I wouldn't be surprised to see them sluggish. Hope I'm wrong on both accounts.
  15. Another amazing job by the brewers pitching staff today. Mets were red hot coming into this series and the brewers have held them to 4 earned runs in two games. And what pitcher would you rather have on the mound for the rubber game? It will be fun to watch sheets pitch on easter. The bats are heating up. It was way too early to panic. Jenks 1-5 but a big long blast. Wow he hit that a 1/3 of the way up the scoreboard. Hopefully as Bill and Darron were saying, this will help Geoff relax and get in a groove. A great game save the defense. Hopefully Rickies D will improve as the year goes on. One more thing. Much better IGT today. Of course it was hard to be negative today.
  16. You really think a team that is probably a top 5 pitching staff in the NL is going to lose more games then it wins? The brewers have a winning record and they are struggling offensively. Ok we've been lucky to this point. Great we were lucky! When half of the lineup gets its act together we won't have to be lucky anymore. Well I'm of the belief this offense will be better then it has been the last two years. Maybe you're not. I mean if half the lineup is struggling and we're putting up 8 hits a game imagine what things are gonna be like when the bats heat up.
  17. (EDIT: forgot a game, totals actually better) 6, 16, 6, 4, 12, 4, 10, 9, 8, and 9. Those are the hit totals of the first 10 games. An average of 8.4 hits per game and a median of 8 hits per game. This while we're clearly struggling at the plate (Clark, Jenks, Rickie, Hall, Miller are all imo not hitting as well as they are capable of this point---that's half our lineup). Not bad. The point is the timely hits will come and the rallies. Also keep in mind pitching tends to be a lot more consistent then hitting and the brewers pitching has been great thus far and with Sheets coming back it will be even better. ---oops forgot something. record means nothing at this point? please explain. Do you honestly think this offense is always gonna be this bad? We're 6-4 with the offense struggling. I'm encouraged by this.
  18. Wow what a disfunctional "family" we have here. This IGT was surprisingly negative for a team that's 6-4 and a game out of first. Apparently some of you ppl think this team is supposed to win 120 games for some odd reason. Poor Jenks. I doubt he reads these but if he did what you think he would be thinking? Aren't these guys supposed to be my fans? Jenks has now only had 3 ABs with runners in scoring position but yet it seems like some of you expect him to have 10 rbis already. Coming into today he had a OBP of .359. Not great but alright for a guy who clearly hasn't found his groove yet. Calling for him to be moved down in the order or sat against lefties with fewer then 50 ABs under his belt is just crazy. Enjoy this ppl. We have a ball club with a winning record that isn't hitting worth a damn yet. They held probably the best offense in the majors right now to 4 runs (3 earned). Still 152 games left to go. I swear reading this IGT thread made me think we had the pirates record right now. Kinda sad how some of you are behaving.
  19. Looking at the current radar I would guess the rain will be out of there by game time. This is going to be a tough series if the brewer bats continue to be silent. We all know how well the mets are hitting the ball right now. They treated RFK like it was coors field yesterday.
  20. 8-3 = 5-3 Jeff Suppan = brewer killer Hopefully the crew can pull out a win and salvage a win in this series. The defacto ace/stopper DD is on the hill. I have a bad feeling though.
  21. Now we stink, one three game losing streak and we stink?
  22. Good points and Bush does work fast. After there were men on first and second though the brewers should have had someone warming up. A visit from the catcher then maddux then a walk and a reliever should be ready if he's hurrying. Oh well, what's done is done.
  23. I know. DD, Ohka, and Bush all struggled in back to back to back games and the bats are cold. It happens ppl. Still 154 games to go. ---Silver Lining, Jose Capellan looked a lot better then his previous two outings. Throwing strikes and going after hitters.
  24. Not mine. Mine stem from a pitcher who can't control where the ball is going. Even though his pitch count is low why not take him out? The bullpen is coming off an off day and DD is going tomorrow. Disagree. Cards have gotten two bad outings from our starting pitching. Your starting pitcher doesn't have control = not a very good chance to win against anyone.
  25. His error wasn't the problem that inning. As a result of his bobble maybe edmonds was on third instead of second (even though i'd argue he would have moved there on a throw home. The problem was bush hitting eckstein, throw a pitch right down the middle to juan e. and then walking pujols. Another pitch down the middle to edmonds and then not backing up third on the throw to third from weeks.
