  1. Sounds like a Saturday night Cub game may not be the best time to try this...
  2. Because of the shading that had appeared for some reason?(I now figured out how to get rid of it)
  3. How difficult is it to get a seat on the patio there? The website says: "Patio tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis" and that they open 1.5 hours before the game. If you get in there, how long can you stay? Do you have to keep buying stuff to keep a table? What are the food and drink prices like? I'm looking at possibly buying some terrace tickets for the Saturday game with the Cubs that come with Metavante passes. I'm not a big fan of the terrace level, but I thought maybe it'd be a chance to try out metavante.
  4. I'd think that never having to deal with rain or cold at home (but still playing on grass) would help the Brewers with signings, too. How about if LaPorta is a stud, but the Brewers make the playoffs, say, 10 (or even 7) times in the next 20 years...
  5. Nice selective editing there, you left out the part where he says: "If I could pinpoint exaclty why it was happening, obviously I'd stop doing that. But it does me no good to be worried or concerned."
  6. This is because most are more interested in winning at the major league level. My impression is some on this forum care more about the minor league prospects than what actually happens on the field with the major league team. It's as if they would be happy to be perpetual losers as long as the team is made up only of players that they have followed through the minor league system. It is great that this team has managed to fill about 1/2 of the major league roster from within, but that does not mean there is anything wrong with filling a hole via trade or "renting" a player to make a run at the playoffs. If they are in a position to potentially make the playoffs again this year, I would hope they would do the same sort of thing again and give up prospects to increase their chances of winning where it counts, when they have a shot at doing so.
  7. Not a big fan of replay in general because of the delays it causes, but the minimal use in MLB is okay. I only saw one MLB replay review so far and it was a pretty long delay. I had thought MLB was going to use a centralized review system rather than have the field umpires tramp off the field to review. Having a centralized reviewer who would relay the decision to the field umpires might be a little faster. In the end sports are just games/entertainment and an occassional missed call is really not that big a deal. I certainly don't want to see an expansion of replay if it would mean 15 or 30 minutes of delays added to the average game time. Having questec relay the ball/strike calls to the umpire should be implemented, assuming it could be done without creating any delay. Those are the calls that are missed (or inconsistent) far more often than any others.
  8. Pitch was way high but bounced so hard off the back wall that the catcher was able to pick it up and flip it to the pitcher. The pitch may have hit the wall on the fly.
  9. Glad to hear Braun is at least available to pinch hit today.
  10. Ah, a "do-over" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  11. I think the problem is if the call was "foul" and then it is reviewed and reversed, they would have to guess what should have happened.
  12. I guess it has to be a home run. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5968074.html
  13. even more unreal a 2 run foul ball. Isn't the foul line a boundary and subject to replay?
  14. I really like the willingness of Macha to make mid inning pitching changes. With the previous administration it would usually have to already be a disaster before that would happen.
  15. Clearly http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif and it took half a game before someone was willing to break the rules.
  16. Getting some breaks this inning, 2 misplays and a strike 3 that wasn't called.
  17. Unless they are at the ballpark, they are missing a nice performance by Parra.
  18. Not much, but a few more details in the news story here: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/44098727.html
  19. Thankfully, he has exceeded expectations by more than a factor of 3. Now how about some offense!
  20. The article says: The dues pay for our postgame food spreads, among other things. I've been told food spreads for a season can cost about $80,000. Let's see 25 players X $50 X 162 games = $202,500 - $80,000 = $122,500 leftover for the clubhouse manager (I think whoever said they are not paid much appears to be mistaken).
  21. Oh how I hate the phoney apoligizing and empathizing that one gets from just about every company these days. That and the annoying, excessive, phoney "thank you-s" and constant customer satisfaction surveying..."I was satisfied until you decided to bug me with your stupid survey!"
  22. Maybe they are trying to give the bullpen a break? Plus Yo can hit!
  23. Okay...you're old fashioned. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif They had 3-4-5 hitters coming up, any one of those has (I assume) a reasonable chance of driving in Sanchez from first base with an extra base hit, so it would not require stringing together multiple hits.
  24. and he gets a walk, pitchers do strange things sometimes. BTW, is that a question...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif My question is: Chris Duffy in CF... I like it?
