  1. Maybe there will be, if Gamel shows that he is the equal of Braun defensively at 3b.
  2. http://mail.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/14.gif You talked about how great you thought the fans here were. Some on this site think the fans here are now too quick to "boo" our own players. As a player what did you think/feel when the home fans booed you? ...or since I'm sure that never happened to you http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif, do you think it has an impact on the performance of players who this has happened to? Also could it affect a player's desire to sign or not sign with a particular team?
  3. Wait...because Mcgehee is already in the game now it is okay to use Rivera as a pinch hitter???
  4. At some point I'd think Prince could have turned his attention to the other runner. A successful pickoff with runners on first and third does not normally result in a run scoring.
  5. Leaving aside the botched rundown, why would you not throw home and get that runner and let the guy on first go to second?
  6. Maybe next time Braun should try skipping, instead of making a snow angel. Cub fans should surely find that acceptable.

  8. That seems like it might make the most sense, but then in late innings with a lead I think you would want to go to Hall and Counsell at 3rd and 2nd (or visa-versa). Not sure where Iribarren fits in to that concept though.
  9. I believe that is the source of the gentleman to the left http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. Is it scalping when you pay face value or less (and/or less than the team would charge you for single game tickets)? I converted to buying from season ticket holders last year. The way I now look at it is I am encouraging them to continue to be season ticket buyers, by helping provide a secondary market for the tickets they can not use. Even the team itself sees the value in this as indicated by the stub hub link on the team website.
  11. B & B seemed to imply it was normal for Rickie to not talk, in any case. So I would think it probably does not mean anything one way or the other.
  12. I had heard it was a new MLB rule, if both teams have a day off they must play the make up game. Besides, I think it'll be great if the team can complete an untuckem trifecta tonight.
  13. I don't have any issue with the retro logo (though I'd like to see more use of the even more retro one http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif), it is the wearing of specifically the 1982 jerseys on the field. The reason is not the uniform, it is that it is expressive of the attitude of looking back to the 1982 team. If some fans want to contemplate that WS team it is fine, but constantly putting the team on the field saying "look, this is the uniform that the team that went to the WS wore in 1982" has just gotten overdone.
  14. Thanks, I am glad at least some one appreciated the more significant point I had made there. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. They could do an occassional turn back the clock thing, but they should vary the uniforms for that. This year they are down to once a month with the 1982 uniforms, maybe by next season or the following one it'll be just once during the season. I live in one of the other counties and would have no problem with "Milwaukee" on the road jersey. Do they really think that people in the other counties are going to be irate if they do this?
  16. What if he gave up 5 "unearned" runs because of two out error followed by 3 hits? The problem with earned runs is it sometimes gives the pitcher a pass for some bad pitching just because an error occured in an inning. I think there should be some consideration given for things that happen due to errors, but "earned runs" sometimes gives too much of a break to the pitcher. Why doesn't this work the other way? Using ERA logic, after 3 batters come to the plate in an inning any errors should not count against the fielder, because the pitcher should have gotten three outs and the inning should be over.

  19. I used to do it when the park had lots of empty seats, but don't any more now that most seats are sold. Most of the time when I did it, I would just sit up in a pretty high row in the lower level(s)...where there was a section that was maybe about 1/2 empty. Once, though, at County I got greedy and saw 4 seats down by the dugout that were still empty in about the third inning. The usher soon came and said we could not sit there, it was the owner's box http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif. At the last game I went to, my kid and I moved over a couple seats just because some tall cub fan with a huge head blocked our view of home plate. Whoever had the seats next to us never showed up.
  20. I don't have a great memory, was "small ball" the way the Phillies did it?
  21. Actgually I think Yost would not make a change, but it'd be because it is so-and-so's inning.
  22. Maybe it'll be a mistake in that it'll lead to going too long with him instead.
  23. Stranger yet, the TV I'm watching on does have the digital box and Brewers are definitely not on FSN.
