  1. fortheloveofweeks--on gameday does Cueto's strike zone look like he is getting a lot of called strikes on low pitches?
  2. Watching JJ round 3rd, I had this freakish replay in my head with his run in with Sal Fasono. Scary
  3. pitchers actually getting the bunt down. why does that make me so happy?
  4. apparently, the same bad camera work for MLW as FSN. booooo
  5. Our tickets are in the loge level and certainly in the sun. Sometimes it's really nice, someitmes not so much. If that's what you are looking for, I would go for Leftfield Loge Outfield box seats in the first 15 or so rows.
  6. Drinking it should be safe, just Don't eat any mentos or you really might erupt!!
  7. I've gone to a few games by myself, usually afternoon games when everyone else has to work. I might actually do that on Thursday. (I'm not unemployed, but I work retail and have a lot of weekdays off). It's actually not all that bad, especially for home games. I spend a lot of time reading the media guide or program and just talk to anyone around me if they are in the mood. I am fairly outgoing so it's not hard for me, but I would think almost anyone who posts on BF knows enough to hold a baseball conversation during a game.
  8. Our fan's choice are loge outfield. The next game we have is this Thursday--probably not close to being a sell out even at game time. The tickets we got were sec 228 row 6. I looked today to see what the best seats in that level would be that are still available and low and behold you can now purchase sec 228 row 1 the same 4 aisle seats that we have, just first row. I can't go Thursday and will be trading in the tickets anyway, but that just doesn't make me very happy.
  9. I give a big second to the Berryweiss and peanuts comments. One of my friends works for a food vendor service and delivered our season food rations for the Home Opener. Something about a box with 20 pounds of kraut, a couple hundred brats and hot dogs, and a 25 pound box of peanuts that not only fills my kitchen, but fills my heart with cheerful baseball love all over again every year.
  10. Can anyone lead me as to where to find the catcher's ERA stat? I know I've seen it used in posts on here before and would be really interested in seeing the difference in Kendall's compared to others around the league. I would like to believe that Kendall's has to look pretty good over his career. Admittedly, I am a big fan of Kendall's and always have been, but even I am surprised at how well he has performed so far. I am also a huge believer of 'calling a good game'. I caught for many years and the relationship between the pitcher and catcher is very important when game planning. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the shake offs that you see on TV aren't actually pitchers shaking off a pitch. I know that with some of the better pitchers that I caught for, we would be on the same page that in a fairly predictable count I would call for a pitch once, knowing they would shake it off, then go through a few other signs, only to go back to the first pitch that I called for. It makes a hitter really think when the pitcher shakes off a few times before settling in on what to throw.
  11. My major issue with FSN right now not only is the fact that they don't show the key parts of several plays the first time when the play occurs, but even the first couple of replays aren't actually of the action either.
  12. Our 20 game fan's choice pack got much worse this year than last as well. I wouldn't have a problem with it as much if I was told the honest truth by my ticket rep. As I renewed my seats, he assured me that I was how soon your full payment was received for the 20 game pack, that your actual seat location was reserved. By Jan, all 4 of our seats were completely paid off, so I figured that we would have even better locations than last year. Alas, when I called in mid Feburary, and asked my rep if he could give me some of my seat locations, I was told "Pre-set game packs get better seats than your fan's choice. I won't know where your exact seats will be until most of the other 20 game packs have been sold." I was very unhappy with this answer and let him know it. His response was "you have to realize that we needed to secure as much of your payment as possible, and I guess I just didn't understand how the seat locations were being assigned this year." not even an apology, just a tough luck and I needed your account paid off so I kind of stuck you with a 'non-truth'. Needless to say, I will no longer be dealing with that rep. I have spoken to several other fans who get great service from their agents, and I think that I just got the short end of the stick with the one who originally answered the phone when I first ordered my season ticket packs a few years ago. I won't stop buying season packs, I just won't use the same agent anymore.
  13. Maybe do something with the dimensions of the park or a regulation baseball field. Like it's 360 feet around the bases, how many times around the diamond would you have to run to equal the distance from the school to Miller Park or something similar. Maybe a little simpler math, like if the Brewers win 5-3 that day, how many runs would they score in a season. For what it's worth, I have always been kind of a math geek since I was little and I would have loved a field trip like this. Here is the link that a 5th grade teacher friend sent to me that she uses. Otherwise, search google for teaching baseball math would probably find you more. http://www.teachersfirst.com/baseball.htm
  14. suddenly my heartrate and breathing seemed to get much smoother
  15. They are up for auction on the Brewers MLB auction site. Going for decent prices for anyone just looking to get into the game with an obstructed view ticket. Hope this helps anyone who is still looking for opening day. http://brewers.auction.mlb.com/
  16. So far after almost 40 hours of wooting I've gotten 2 of the bluetooh headseats and 3 of the 2GB memory cards. Almost pulled the trigger on the 42 inch flat screen but it was gone (probably a good thing)
  17. just started with a gps system
  18. I talked to Barnes and Noble today and the issue should be available on Friday. Subscribers get it a few days early and it should be on sale each Friday.
  19. Here is a very good website that discusses the rebate. If you scroll down far enough, it actually tells when you can expect to actually have your money. It is based on the last 2 digits of your social security number and if you had your original refund direct deposited or sent by check. http://www.statesville.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=SRL/MGArticle/SRL_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1173355101620 BTW, how do your post a link and give it just a summarized title within a reply. I see a lot of people do it and it looks much nicer than when I post huge long links to places.
  20. The LG VX8700, may not be free but it is by far the best phone I have ever had. I actually went in to the Verizon store at Bayshore and asked what kind of deals that I could get on that phone and they were able to get it down to $115 after a rebate for me. Also, regardless of which phone you pick ask someone at Verizon if they have discounts for your employer or school. All I had to show them was a paystub and I got 15% off the phone and accessories, and 15% off of my bill each month. The sales guy mentioned it to me and said that they have deals with tons of schools and companies that not many people ever ask about or use.
  21. Allowance on a W4 and dependents on your actual 1040s are the same thing. Basically when filling out your W4, the more allowances you claim, the less taxes they take out of your check every week-but the less you get back in April-or the chance of having to pay in. If you filed this year and are getting a decent refund back, you should be able to claim one less allowance on your W4 and be fine.
  22. General parking for the opener. I only have one extra because we all decided to carpool, so if you need one, just let me know. Edit: Sold
