  1. I would guess Monday. The pre-sale ended Friday afternoon, so I would think general public sale should be starting sometime this week.
  2. I feel like I should clarify my "kids comment". I'm not actually talking about younger kids, more the 17-22 year olds that show up at MP get completely drunk and try to instigate any Brewer fan around them as soon as the Cubs have a good play. I work with mostly this age of employees and refer to all of them as kids, even though I'm only about ten years older than them. It's the spoiled rich kid with the cubs visor and wristbands and I'm better than you attitude I'm talking about, not actually children.
  3. I agree that we (Brewer fans) think that the rivalry is much bigger than it is in their (cub backers) eyes, but I think from a fan's standpoint it is important for us to show up at wiggley field. One of my favorite things to say to younger cub fans at Miller Park is that "someday your dad will love you enough to buy tickets to your home field". I feel obliged to attend at least 3 or 4 games a year in their dump, to justify myself.
  4. Espn actually showing college baseball this early in the year. Love that *Ping* sound..
  5. Sutton, Caldwell, Kuehn, Oglivie all pinstripes with no reserve. Less than 4 days left and all four combined are going for $3.25. If someone from BF around Milwaukee buys them, I will meet you somewhere and skip the shipping. Edit: Sorry I forgot to put in the link. Here is the Ebay Item number: 290210266676, cause the link is way too long.
  6. 4 of us will also be there on the second. sec 140 row 8, just can't do the bleachers at wrigley--way to many drunken annoying cubbies there for me. i believe there was a thread last week with another link to some pretty cheap tickets for these 2 games as well, so hopefully there will be a good showing of us there.
  7. Rainforest Cafe is very good, and the LegoLand store (if it's still there) is a very fun waste of time if you're there with younger ones.
  8. I second the Harry Potter being overrated, and also Lord of the Rings. Just can't force myself to watch or read either of them.
  9. who's this LaPorta kid, and why can't I find him on my fantasy ranking sheets yet?
  10. no offense to Glennron, but I would like to take the positive light and hear what everyone thinks is underrated. i'll start with a quick three; teachers--every level, everyday regardless of school or location Leinie's Berryweiss--just picked up my first 12 pack of the summer, I'm trying to will the weather into getting warm fullbacks--one of the least loved football positions
  11. I would like to get this card valued and possibly graded. Is there a place that anyone can reccomend that is fair and overall generally a fun shop to go in to and spend some time? Does anyone on BF actually work in a card store and would be able to answer some other questions for me? thanks for all of the input BF!! http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/2e4351e69c847c0ffdce6af01263bb05e2583cc.pjpg http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/fa22596980788f856bf1858b520f28ab44c0aba.pjpg BTW: Also, they have his name incorrect on the back of the card. Will this devalue the card any? Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net
  12. makes me want to sell my auto'd zach jack sounds jersey.
  13. Steve Stone was right all along. We have no shot to compete with the cubs. (who also lost today, so at least we're still tied for the pennant)
  14. Also Veriaon lets you switch any of your calling plan features anytime. I've been over on minutes in the middle of the month and they offered to switch my plan so I wouldn't get hosed with per minute charges, then changed it back the next month with no hassle.
  15. I've had verizon for almost 8 years and I swear by it. I have never had a problem with reception or roaming, I 've lived everywhere from Oshkosh to Cleveland to Wausau to Milwaukee and it has been great everywhere. Even worked perfectly without any extra charges from Toronto. If reception is one of your major concerns, the model of phone makes a huge difference. Motorolla is notorious for having poor signal strength, while LG is supposedly the best for coverage area. As far as prepaid phones go, I know that your coverage is very limited as it is. I looked into getting one for my parents for Christmas, but turned out to be able to just add a line to my Verizon for only $10 a month and get them a very basic LG phone for less than $40. If you live in the Milwaukee area, and might be interested in Verizon, I would suggest the Verizon store at Bayshore. Try to talk to Madonna (I know right-but she was great to deal with) or the taller skinny guy with the beard, I think his name is Kevin. I have dealt with both of them and had excellent service both times.
  16. i finally got the boxscore to work on mlb.com. it's a bit delayed, but it's at least up and working
  17. my chiropractor basically cured my migraine problems as well. I am very grateful!!
  18. Since Braun hits his homers basically all over the park, and for that matter Jenkins basically never hit his towards Jenkin's Jungle, how about Hardy's Hammerway or something. I remember a lot of JJ's shots landing right out by Friday's last year.
  19. my vote has to be Cappy. he's gone through tough physical problems with the tommy john surgery, and now if he could make it through a tough emotional year I would really be happy for him. I don't think he was nearly as bad for the year last year as others do, some of it was tough breaks and some of it was poor performance.
  20. thanks, gypcasino. I actually contacted that post and nobody responded since I sent the email at noon.
  21. riverside, I've had no luck finding tickets anywhere
  22. Probably not the kind of thing a lot of BF members would be into, but I've seen a bunch of his HBO specials and think he is hilarious. Just wondering if anyone has seen tickets for this anywhere? Checked stubhub and ebay and I can't find anything.
  23. when I sent my ticket rep an email ordering my parking, I asked for 2 for opening day. I haven't heard back from him yet, but if I get two I actually won't need them now so I should hopefully have an extra general pass. I will let you know burnie.
  24. I got my Royals tix this morning right away at 9 am and got section 126 row 1 for each day!! It might be from playing thirdbase for years, but I would rather sit there than right behind home plate.
  25. Apparently irregular heartbeat which has happened before, but still has to be scary. Will this make them go after Brian Roberts even harder? http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080223&content_id=2385713&vkey=spt2008news&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
