They are absolutely horrific. Those kinda remind me of the episode of Curb where Jeff's wife makes designer shirts for sports teams that everyone secretly hates.
I'm definitely not glad. And Russ is right on about his early years with the Brewers. If he's with the Yankees or a contender during that stretch, he racks up 20 wins more than once and people would paint him in a different light. Not to mention, what is the full story behind his injuries? Maybe he feels like the Brewers turned their back on him after trotting him out and exacerbating his injury situation?
Yeah. I think SD was nuts for letting Hoffman go. Isn't it worth the deal just to give people a reason to come to the park? Their loss is our gain. His greatness is obvious, even at the tail end of the career. And I can't wait to hear the crowd roar on Sunday if he comes in. Or in a big/late season game.
Just to update my list, I'm still looking for these bobbles. Thanks again! 2001 Uecker 2003 Hammonds Pink Bat Bill Hall (Looking for two of these) 2008 Retro JJ Hardy 2008 Retro Prince
I agree with Pretend Astronaut. HY aside, I don't think someone should be criticized for what they collect. Be it a ball, bobblehead, music, art, or whatever. If he runs over kids, criticize him for that.
I don't think the average fan boos him for such complex reasons as how he showed up after the contract. They boo practically every former Brewer, which I find pretty stupid. They even booed Molitor.
This is purely anecdotal, but the homeruns Rickie hits seem to be frozen ropes, not the towering bombs other guys hit. Hard to not be excited about 8HRs from him on May 12, no matter how you slice it.
