  1. I remember Loretta's outing against Cincy in Cincy.
  2. Laird's price tag won't be as high as it would be if the Rangers didn't have Salty. Teams know the Rangers will be trying to unload him, so the Rangers' leverage will go down the drain. Laird straight up for Vargas would be completely lopsided. Vargas and his high WHIP in Arlington = disaster. I hope the Brewers and Rangers resume talks this offseason regarding Otsuka, and maybe talk about Laird as well. He'd be a great addition. It will cost the Brewers at least Gwynn, Villanueva, and another solid prospect to get those players.
  3. It'd be nice to see him add some muscle, that's for sure.
  4. I'll definitely be buying a few tickets. Hopefully, they limp in to the playoffs so I can get a chance to see playoff baseball.
  5. He's only 2 years removed from college, so being at Brevard County isn't the worst thing in the world. Sure, you'd like to see him performing better, that's for sure. He should be a fast mover since he played a few years at college. Maybe AA will help him next season.
  6. Cappy's just not getting it done. I'd like to see Parra take his rotation spot for now.
  7. He said he wants to play in 08. Also, he has the chance of getting 3,000 hits and 2,000 RBI.
  8. No chance for the Crew to get him, as he will cost about $20 million next season.
  9. Fastball that tops out at 95, slider, circle change, splitter. http://www.moultonadvertiser.com/news/2007/0613/sports/024.html
  10. I just hope they do like the Mets did and sign Braun to a long term deal after this season or next.
  11. I don't really consider Berkman to be a pull hitter by any means, so it was tough to understand why they deployed it against him.

  13. I think the Brewer have to win the division for either of them to get good consideration. Who cares if you hit a bunch of HR and have 100 RBI if your team doesn't win anything. The voters have been all over the place recently (last year's AL MVP voting was a joke), so who knows.

  15. The Cubs are playing games 17-20 of their 20 game stretch without a day off, so they've gotta be a tired bunch. Plus, without Ramirez and Soriano, they've got to be beatable. Go Rox!
  16. He was released within the last 2 days.
  17. Shea Hillenbrand might be their best option right now until they can find someone better.
  18. What do you guys think of Darren Ford? He might be the fastest guy in the system, but struggles big time with strikeouts. He had a .398 OBP for a lead off man earlier this season with WV, but that's dropped to .315 now with the Manatees. He's got a decent amount of pop (9 HRs this season). If he could just put the ball in play more and let his speed go to work, he'd be a legit MLB prospect. Right now, I'm not sure he is. You can have all the speed in the world, but if you only get on base 31.5% of the time, your role is a future pinch runner/defensive replacement. He's only 21, so he's got plenty of time to figure it out.
  19. Haven't you learned yet that Hawk has nothing intelligent to say? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. Brady Clark was placed in the TIA list at Pawtucket; supposedly, he was mad about his situation there and won't play there again.
  21. There is nothing to be encouraged about right now. They're 36-45 since the 24-10 start; you know what that tells me? The beginning was flukish. This team has consistently shown since May that it's below average in just about every area. The pitching has been atrocious, the hitting has been all over the place, and the defense was never good to begin with. Sure they're in the division race, but they might win by default. The Cubs clearly have the better personnel at this point even though they just got swept by the Astros. The Brewers could still make the season a relative success by winning the division. The Wild Card will probably be out of reach. Hey, at least Milwaukee gets to miss Roy Oswalt this weekend. And at what point should we stop expecting the team to just finish 500 and expect them to actually have a good record? This team clearly has the players necessary to win a lot of games, but it hasn't translated at all. Who's to blame for that is beyond me.
  22. Per MLB.com: http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070808&content_id=2137355&vkey=news_col&fext=.jsp&c_id=col Pretty impressive. I noticed after he got picked off by Capuano that he had a big limp, but I thought nothing of it. If that, plus the Brewers' loss, doesn't add injury (no pun intended) to insult, I don't know what does.
  23. A long time ago Capuano pitched real well Those days are over/
  24. Hammond's had a down year, but he's still capable of being a big leaguer.
  25. This all comes with the new wave of casual/bandwagon fans since the Brewers have been doing well this year, and it's not going to stop. Personally, I don't boo anybody but Barry Bonds, and that's only because he's the biggest jerk in the game.
