  1. Blessing in disguise? I think Soriano's turning point this season came in Milwaukee when he had a great 3 game series, and he's been hitting ever since. He's obviously the catalyst of that offense. Without him, they lose a ton of production. Imagine losing Corey right now; who would bat leadoff?

  3. He's a DH waiting to happen. He definitely has a future, just not with the Brewers.
  4. Hughes and Bailey are in the International League.
  5. Tickets were great, the pitching was great, and we even got 2 powder blue Oglivie's for Pedro.
  6. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm expecting another good performance out of Yo!!
  7. He wasn't released. The Braves are just hoping he'll accept an assignment to Richmond and that another team won't claim him.
  8. Supposedly Lawrence is having a tough time reaching 80mph now with his fastball. Coincidentally, the Brewers' tee time is 1:05pm.
  9. I heard he was just DFA'ed. Was that changed to released?
  10. This just in; Prince is fine. Off the bottom of the scoreboard for those of you not watching the game. 3-0.
  11. Wednesday night baseball has Dan Shulman (terrific), Steve Phillips, and Hershiser usually.
  12. If Bill Hall's 8th inning double would've stayed in the park, Prince would've easily scored, since he was almost to third when the ball hopped over. Could've been 3-2. Moot point now, but I'm feeling good about tonight.
  13. Hallelujah. Looks like Dillon might be getting several starts at 2b for the time being.
  14. Anybody instantly think of Rick 'Wild Thing' Vaughn of Major League with his performance tonight? I can just imagine Ueck in the box going, "Just a bit outside!"
  15. Anybody notice how Milledge horribly misplayed both those balls? He broke back at first, then had to sprint in to make the diving play both times. A good CF makes those catches look easy. The award for "I would've killed Yost if this pitcher switch didn't work out tonight" goes to the switch of Shouse and Spurling. Shouse stepped in to a 2-0 count and got a double play against a right handed hitter. Then comes Easley, another righty. Can you imagine how we would all feel if Spurling came in a gave up a hit to score David Wright? We would've all been calling for his head. I was shocked he called on Spurling as Shouse has been terrific lately. That foul ball by Prince was easily over 500'. WOW. RISP, yet again the Achilles' heel. That has got to get better, and soon. I'm preaching to the choir here. A good outing by both starters. Kudos to Suppan for keeping the Beltran-less lineup in check. The standing O after Glavine left was very classy. We've got good fans here. Huge win, and much needed. Jenks is 5-7 in his last 2 games. He needs to get going again. Vargas tomorrow I'm assuming. How about 8 more innings!
  16. I love this! It's about time they gave Dillon a chance; he can play just about anywhere, and has always had a good bat. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a start at 2b before Linebrink comes back.
  17. The Braves have reportedly offered Cincy JoJo Reyes for Bronson Arroyo. The Braves are absolutely going all out for this season if that deal happens. JoJo has much higher upside than Arroyo, but maybe the Braves don't want to wait for him to develop. We'll wait and see what the Reds decide.
  18. What do the Cubs possibly have to offer the Rangers? Pie isn't going anywhere.
  19. He can play all over. He started at third this season, played some short, and will likely play some first with the Yanks.
  20. CL: Gagne SU: Cordero 7th inning: Linebrink 6th Inning: Villy 5th Inning: Wise, Shouse C: Estrada 1B: Fielder 2B: Weeks 3B: Braun SS: Hardy LF: Hart CF: Hall RF: Dye 1. Hart 2. Hardy 3. Braun 4. Fielder 5. Dye 6. Hall 7. Estrada 8. Weeks This makes you easily a playoff team and maybe even more. Sexy, but I'll take the LF platoon the Brewers have now. Granted, Dye has been playing better recently, but he's too much of a injury risk, and the LF platoon has outperformed him this season. Plus, Kenny Williams wants Turnbow and Parra for Dye.
  21. I think the main reason we signed Suppan was because of his leadership and postseason success.
  22. That would be feasible. Byrnes is a good defender in center, and obviously his power and speed play there as well.
  23. This opens up a hopefully permanent spot for Loney at first for the Dodgers. I like Proctor a lot; he throws hard and can eat a lot of innings. I think he'll do nice things with the Dodgers.
