  1. Well, that would be the ultimate "win now" move for the Dodgers.
  2. The Reds would be stupid to not pick up his option.
  3. Anything he could possibly say would #1 on the list of most hypocritical things ever said,
  4. Learning the origins and insertions of all the neck muscles!
  5. Chemistry ruins lives.
  6. I'm not sure. With the depth the Brewers currently have, starting pitching doesn't seem like a glaring need. Yo is an ace in the making as he's shown, so he basically replaces Ben.
  7. I don't think his innings will be a huge deal next season. Usually, teams will add about 20% each year. Gallardo has about 185 this year. 20% of that is 37, putting him well over 200 for next season. I don't think he'll go much over 200, but 200 should be the limit for 2008.
  8. All I know is it was shoulder-related. Labrum or rotator cuff are the most common problems, but I can't find where it specifies anywhere.
  9. Certainly good news for Rogers. Hopefully he'll be ready to go for Brevard County next season.
  10. Instead of saying Choko-o-Puffs it should say Coco Puffs with a picture of Cordero. How about Coco Duffs?
  11. I also picked up Capuano just for today, and he didn't disappoint. 5 Ks and a good ERA work for me. The 1.60 WHIP is no good, but not terrible.
  12. I expect a big bounceback year from Cappy next season. I mentioned in an earlier thread that Capuano hasn't pitched nearly as bad as his numbers suggest, and I still maintain that feeling. He's given up more hits than the last 2 seasons, but I feel that has a lot to do with the porous infield defense the Brewers have. If they are able to shore that up next year, Capuano should repeat his 05 and 06 form.
  13. Yep, BaseballCube is almost 2 weeks behind. I think Gallardo has made 3 starts since it's last been updated n Sept 10th.
  14. I think a lot of the Brewers' needs can come from within. Rottino had a solid 363 OBP in AAA this season, can play a bunch of positions, doesn't strikeout much, and should be the 24th/25th man next season, along with Dillon (I really hope they give him a chance next year). I'm interested to see what Laynce Nix can do with the Major League team if he's healthy. He's a possible LF candidate. Callix Crabbe has a tremendous eye at the plate, can play 2b and outfield, but I doubt he gets a decent shot next year. He's got a lot of speed, but isn't a great baserunner. He'll be 25 next Spring Training. Steve bray had a great year for the Sounds. He was mostly used as a long reliever this year, and compiled a 1.62 ERA in 77 innings. He should certainly get a shot. He'll turn 27 in December.
  15. I just say that because he's been mentioned in trade talks before, and he's probably the best trading chip the Brewers have at this point to get a solid reliever/LF/whatever. I'd love Jeff Clement, by the way. Heck, even to acquire Rob Johnson, the defensive-minded young catcher the M's also have would be a fine acquisition. Speaking of catchers, how about Gerald Laird as well as a Ranger reliever.
  16. I bet Parra is thrown around in trade talks. Maybe he's enough to net the Brewers Otsuka or one of the other Rangers relievers (Wilson, Benoit, Littleton, etc).
  17. He's at 182 right now.
  18. Take out that Colorado start, and Yo's ERA is a sparkling 2.73. Impressive. I have to imagine he'll stay in the rotation until the Brewers are eliminated from the postseason.
  19. Capuano will. Bush will be for sure, in my opinion.
  20. If Scott Thorman doesn't transform into Babe Ruth for that AB, Weeks doesn't have a chance to make that error. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. I agree. I always like watching Coco's montage before he enters a game at Miller Park. There's a clip of him striking out the last Braves batter in Atlanta last year. I guess he used up his 1 Atlanta save last night.
  22. I agree with that. Len "I sound like Grover from Sesame Street when I yell" Kasper is a huge homer. Rock is pretty homerish himself, but not nearly as much as Kasper. Brian is very neutral, which I appreciate. I think he's fantastic.
  23. Not working for me, either. On another site, I've got a Cubs avatar and a "Goat + Ron Santo = Choke" signature. The Cubs have won 2 in a row since I started that.
  24. I've got a really good feeling about Capuano tomorrow. After that, the Brewers get to face (at home) a Cardinal team who has basically given up on the year, and then San Diego. The tough thing about San Diego is A) it's 4 games against a team fighting for a playoff spot, and B) they will have to face Maddux, Young, and maybe Peavy on Sunday. Yikes. Still, the way this team plays at home, I'm not ruling anything out. I have a ton of confidence that they can get the job done. Never lose hope!
