  1. I'm trying to make sense of the blurb on Brady Neal in the draft tracker that says he was expected to be a Day 1 guy, but doesn't have any plus tools?
  2. Regarding Frelick the extra base hits have started to come a bit more in this recent stretch with his average rising, but his OPS is still only .815 despite hitting .317. That's not completely empty, but I'd be worried how his line would look at the moment if he jumped straight to MLB. A promotion on the other hand to AAA does seem appropriate and a chance to see how he ends the year.
  3. I think Yelich gets all the way around on that play.
  4. Just got back from the stadium, hate to leave a game early, but some of the family has to be up and places tomorrow. It does look like it's clearing up here any word on when they might be restarting? Though I'd definitely take the rainout win.
  5. While I haven't added T-mobile Home Internet, since I don't need near that speed at my current location, I would consider it as my customer service over the years with T-mobile phone has been great (20 years and never a rate increase until I upgraded plans voluntarily)
  6. I choose to highlight Frelick getting a couple of hits and raising his batting average to .300. I would love a .300 hitter in our big league lineup.
  7. And because baseball Tellez gets a hit on the weakest contact of the day.
  8. His ABs the last 2 games have been so much better, not swinging at junk generally, not always swinging for the fences. I posted last night but he is still second on the team in OPS, and getting closer to Brosseau.
  9. Anybody have a season adjusted total for where Tellez's OPS should be for the year? Almost every 'cold' streak has just been terrible luck on batted balls it seems like.
  10. I hope we get some runs here it took 12 pitches before Thomson threw an actually good pitch. No strikes to Yelich (ump not withstanding) fell behind to Adames before throwing mediocre strikes to Adames.
  11. I'm not greedy I'd settle for an 18-2 win today.
  12. So it's not completely a match, but Reetz's numbers this year are very close to what he did last year in AA, except just add 18 HRs. Power is typically fairly repeatable as a skill, but there really wasn't a whole lot up to this year to point in the direction of that power spike.
  13. For all the disappointment earlier in the season using updated stats Brosseau is the only player with significant ABs that has an higher OPS than Hiura at .820
  14. I would guess so especially if broadband access improves.
  15. What if Keston can actually play LF? And nice way to take over a game
  16. How is we are in the 6th inning with our starter still going, and the opposing manager had his bullpen warming in the 2nd, yet we are losing?
  17. Defensive stats absolutely support the eye test on Wong. Last year he finished with 6 DRS and so far this year he is at -4. His UZR/ 150 last year was 5.6 (and 5.4 for his career), this year he is at -5.1. So anyway you slice his defense is about 10 runs worse than last year which is pretty big.
  18. The transfer portal definitely opens up the possibility of second tier sort of D1 level developmental teams existing to take on Nick Saban's cast off 5 star recruits and let them rebuild value, which was one potential issue with the pool of have's getting too small. It just strikes me as weird for a whole host of periodic top 25 level programs (Virginia, VA tech, Arizona's. etc.) to suddenly be stuck on the outside looking in. If the ACC has enough of the contract hook they might be the anchor for a 3rd conference. Someone at Notre Dame might get their own crazy idea to start a conference... Or there just seems like a ton of unknowns so the field of outcomes is rather wide. Over the years this expansion discussion has happened I don't ever remember USC and UCLA being mentioned, so it is rather chaotic territory.
  19. One thing to think about is how big do you want get from a control stand point? Undoubtedly this landscape is going to keep changing for awhile, so if one gets too big you risk an organization getting too big with less stakeholders who are aligned. To that extent while it is probably the case at this point that AAU is not the be all and end all, there are almost certainly way more schools with good academic profiles as research institutions that you can maintain that commonality. Even Notre Dame is still generally strong academic institution. Looking at the discussion I'm finding myself thinking we might well end up with 3 super conferences. I'm not sure how much more the SEC really wants to expand either and there are seemingly more options for the Big Ten. Enough so that I could see a 3rd group coalesce that might be competitive enough.
  20. I absolutely think it is worth considering other sports. Football is ascendant and will be until it isn't. Having other sports and that big of a footprint gives you avenues to explore getting revenue in many ways, expanded cable channels, streaming only channels etc.
