  1. Schizopolis, Steven Soderburgh's film about language and communication. I guess it's more of a movie that I understand but don't get - if that makes any sense. It was so tough to watch for me. The friend of mine that recommended it (it's his favorite movie) didn't seem to look into as deeply as I did, I tried to pick it apart, find the themes, etc. After watching it and thinking it through I knew I needed to see again, but I can't make myself sit through it. It's unwatchable for me a second time, but I know it would be beneficial.
  2. Another thing to consider is that a city may have a large population - i.e. SF, but the surrounding metropolitan area is packed (that and SF is like 3 miles by 7 miles so population density is high, just not on a square mile radius). I know growing up in MKE, it was always thought that eventually the I94 strip to Chicago would turn into a megalopolis. It just doesn't seem to be happening. Living in the SF Bay Area the surrounding area does. I live 25 east of SF, but it still feels like a suburban city. I don't think there are really cities surrounding MKE that feel like that. And Jim, I can echo your sentiments on the homeless in SF. There are so many things that it does have to offer though besides the wharf and panhandlers though. It's so diverse that it's hard to find things not like about it but if you polled people that lived here I would bet those are by far most everyones top 2.
  3. I agree, keep him and Yi. Everyone else is expendable (if that's possible, who wants Simmons and his contract?). (edit: punctuation)
  4. Anybody hear the 'Let's go Brewer's' chant?
  5. That is fantastic. What a throwback. I remember seeing Dave Nilsson at Omega on HWY 100 (I think it's gone though now?). Anyway, it was during the strike and my old man walked up to him and said, "hope you guys get back to work soon." I'm sure that's exactly what Dave wanted to hear over his pancakes and eggs that morning.
  6. Calvin Sampson? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. If they are the 'home of the Cubs' why would they use a Milwaukee Brewer's icon for promotion on the station? Oh wait it's the Cubs, the question sort of answers itself.
  8. I agree and really just posted this to come up with more ammo for my argument. He is in love with TGJ and doesn't want Braun moved. I'm attempting to sway him but even logic seems to elude him. I understand this has been debated to death, but this one is by far the worst option and I am fired up trying to calmly tell him so.
  9. Friend of mine doesn't like the idea of trading for a 3rd baseman and moving Braun to LF. His logic is that Hall struggled offensively when moved to the OF and Braun would do the same. I say Billy isn't even in the same area code as far as hitting prowess so it shouldn't be an issue (okay a bit of hyperbole, but you get my point). He would like a Gywnn/Dillon platoon with Braun at 3rd. That doesn't sound appealing to me for the simple reason that I don't like Gywnn's bat at all. Also, Gywnn's range would be wasted in LF. What are your thoughts?
