  1. Good thing that Weeks is such a great offensive threat that we can live with his defensive issues. wait, what?
  2. Gee, 2 strikeouts with a man on 2nd and 1 out. What a surprise!
  3. And if anyone knows bad defensive infielders, it is Milwaukee Brewer fans!
  4. Holy cow, nice job Shouse, and I stand corrected on using your lesser LOOGY vs your greater LOOGY Please please win this.
  5. Seriously I do not understand what that guy is thinking.
  6. I was told you needed to strike out with a runner at 3rd and less than 2 outs. What gives here? 1 hit. We have 1 hit. This offense has taken brutal to a new level.
  7. You can choose to believe me on this or not, but I was literally born the day that Bud Selig took over the Pilots, April 1, 1970. I was too young to see much of the horrific early years of Alex Grammas. My formative years, where I acquired my love for baseball in general and the Brewers specifically, aligned exactly with the "glory years" of 78-82. For better or worse, they are my team, always have been, and it hasn't been easy almost all of the time. Like others, while I was really bummed about the collapse last year, I could understand it, young, pitching wasn't really there, etc. This year WAS the year. I have been emotionally drained every game this year, and it feels like that emotional investment increases exponentially every game. Last night was horrible. The effects of a collapse will be that the hard core fans will remain, probably more jaded (if that's possible with this franchise), probably more guarded and less emotionally invested. Bandwagon fans will decrease rapidly as the sting of the collapse combines with CC and Sheets going elsewhere, there just won't be anything to get excited about. I will say that if Ned is not fired if they collapse, I will find it extremely hard to have any emotion over this franchise any more. Finally, I'm aware that I'm at times a glass is half empty kinda guy when it comes to my sports, but I'm really struggling to see how 2008 wasn't THE window, and once Sheets and CC are gone, I can't see a scenario where they compete in the near future. Not in this division with the big spending Cubs, Cards... In the end after the bluster and the frustration, I'll still be a fan, I honestly just am struggling this morning to envision how I let myself get my stomach in knots every game next year... But, I know I will. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. When this team chokes it completely away, it's gonna sting for a long long time. I won't make rash statements about the choke, but I will say this with 100% conviction, if Ned Yost is managing this team in 2009, I am done with this franchise for good.
  9. This team never ceases to amaze at the ability to choke. Oh well, 26 years, 27 years does it really matter anymore?
  10. 4 runs given up over the 8th and 9th. Great job Torres.
  11. This team will be out of the WC lead by the end of the week.
  12. Can anyone get an out on this team without turning it into a FAIL?
  13. Unreal. This bullpen is a horror show.
  14. Great Edit - Great double play that is and way to get out of that!!!!!
  15. oh right, it will only be 3 when the Phillies sweep the DH.
  16. WC down to what 2.5 by end of day, we'll have a perfect game thrown against us, split vs the worst in in baseball at home. The Clippers have nothing on this franchise when it comes to ineptitude.
  17. Would have been really nice to scratch one out there...
  18. First of all, he's not stealing, that's silly. Second of all, Gagne has been relatively the same all year and Yost keeps going to him. If anyone deserves boos and scorn, it's the manager that keeps throwing him out there when games are still in the balance. I understand the frustration with Gagne, but he isn't holding a gun to Yost's head demanding to be pitched in 1 run games in September, just as he didn't hold a gun to Melvin's head and demand $10M. Yost is the problem.
  19. Ned's quotes last night, combined with equally puzzling comments he's stated before about not bringing in relievers when its not a save situation - I can't recall exact moment but it was a Mota vs Villy comment I wanna say post that Colorado blowup game, continue to lead to to think that Ned manages this team like it's a fantasy team. At times I feel he manages to stats more than a win. I can't help it, but I feel at certain points he's managed for stats like saves or CGs more than making the decisions that at that moment give you the best change to win.
  20. The Era that should be ending, is the goofball that keeps throwing him in there with the game on the line.
  21. WHAT? What happens when a player crosses that plate thing again? Yay. Yost should still be fired.
