  1. Pitchleague, your brother owes you big time having to sit through the 4+ hours of SummerSlam. It was not very good.
  2. CM Punk is back! What a great promo. If you haven’t watched wrestling in a long time, you should really give AEW a try.
  3. Just got an email that Hulu Live is dropping Fox Sports Wisconsin since they were unable to come up with an agreement with Sinclair. Are there any streaming services left that offer Fox Sports Wisconsin?
  4. AEW is doing empty arena shows a million times better than WWE/NXT. Having the extra wrestlers sitting in the stands making noise makes a world of difference. Thoughts on the cinematic matches that WWE has produced? I thought The Boneyard Match at WrestleMania was amazing. Money in the Bank was also good. On the other hand, I thought the Edge/Orton street fight and Ciampa/Gargano matches were too long and boring.
  5. Both NXT & AEW will be in the area on the imminent future. NXT will be at Turner Hall on February 21st. Only SRO tickets remain. NXT will then travel to Oshkosh the following night. Ticket sales at the Menominee Nation arena look to be lousy. It looks like they have only sold a few hundred tickets in a 3,500 capacity venue. I’m thinking of heading up to Oshkosh for the show. AEW will be making its Wisconsin debut on April 1st. The show will be at UWM Panthers Arena. Tickets are selling really well. I am really looking forward to that show.
  6. A word about the Chinese knockoff sites. I’ve purchased in the past, the most recent was probably 7-8 years ago. About two years after I last purchased, I received a fraud alert on my credit card reference purchases to a Chinese pharmaceutical website. This was on a credit card I used for the jersey purchases and only used a few times a year, so I’m positive my info was taken from the knockoff site. I haven’t purchased from similar sites since then.
  7. The Brewers play the Rockies the weekend of April 24th. Right now, nonstop round trip flights from Madison to Denver that weekend are going for $116. It’s on Frontier, so you have to add an additional $34 each way for checked ($38 each way for carry-on) luggage, but it’s still super cheap.
  8. Raw and Smackdown are usually a chore to watch. Slower pace, less exciting action, terrible storylines, etc. I can’t say the same for AEW. The show flies by. Fastest 2 hours on television.
  9. We are a three vehicle household. I tried to convince my wife and daughter that we should all get personalized Brewers plates. I wanted the three plates to read some variation of: GETUP GTOTHR GOOONE Needless to say, it didn’t happen.
  10. Be careful there wearing opposing team colors... A guy told me I was wearing the wrong jersey (Yeli) on my walk to the stadium. He was 100% serious and concerned for my welfare. I’ll say one thing about Dodgers fans. They are loud and energetic. It’s a completely opposite scene from the game I was at in Anaheim on Wednesday. The Angels fans were quiet and uninvolved.
  11. I’m here at Dodgers Stadium. Very, very few fans wearing Brewers gear here. I’m talking like less than 20.
  12. There is a zero percent chance Biloxi becomes a AAA affiliate. They are near the bottom of the league in attendance. Only Jackson and Mobile drew less than the Shuckers. I'd like to see the Brewers stay with Biloxi as long as possible. Logistically, it would then make sense for the Brewers to make a run at the AAA affiliate in New Orleans in 2020 since Biloxi and New Orleans are so close.
  13. What is going on right now? The guys on the radio are unsure about the reason for the stoppage.
  14. I've been to 14 of the current 30 stadiums, including Toronto, Detroit, and Cleveland. It's my personal preference, but I like to use public transportation (trains or subway) when possible. You can usually find cheaper hotels a little farther away from the stadium, plus you can avoid driving in traffic in an unfamiliar city. Are you doing the Lake Erie loop? Any other stops along the way? Niagara Falls is worth a visit, even with a bunch of guys. You can also do a Labatt Brewery tour in London, Ontario. Comerica Park is nice, but downtown Detroit is awful. Simply the ugliest downtown I've seen. I was pestered every 20 feet by someone trying to sell me tix or fundraiser candy sold from a large black garbage bag. There was some graffiti on a garbage can inside the stadium and some dude was smoking weed inside the men's room. Progressive Field was above average, but I don't remember too much about it. Cleveland is also rough, but not as bad as Detroit. If you have an extra couple hours and you are a fan, The Christmas Story house is worth a tour. Toronto has become my favorite city in the world. It's a very fit and active city. People were out walking everywhere. My buddy and I were going to take the subway to Rogers, but ended up walking two miles to the stadium because the vibe in the city was so cool. Rogers is ok. It is missing a welcoming, grandiose front entrance. Had authentic Canadian poutine for the first time, and that. Ended up sitting next to a couple of female Blue Jay fans and struck up a random conversation. They were ultra impressed with my geography-nerd knowledge. (I named the capitals of all the provinces.) Went to a bar after the game and our new Canadian friends refused to let us pay for any drinks. I found that Canadians are ultra-friendly and care what Americans think of them.
  15. Impressive debut by Mr Barnes. His slider was particularly nasty.
  16. They just announced that Braun is a late scratch due to wrist soreness.
  17. I haven't posted here in awhile, but I'm checking in to work the jinx. No hitter. No hitter. Conley hasn't given up a hit going into the 8th. No hitter. No hitter.
  18. New Japan Pro Wrestling on AXS TV is on my weekly DVR list. Almost always great stuff. I saw the Kushida/O'Reilly match as well. Super snug match with both guys laying their strikes in. You could tell that Jim Ross really liked the match during his commentary. I think he mentioned it was one of the best matches he has called over the past few years. Josh Barnett was perfect on color commentary with his knowledge of submission and MMA holds.
  19. 2 weeks away and I don't think I've ever been less pumped for a Wrestlemania. I'm not a Roman Reigns hater. He is more than capable of putting on a good performance. I really liked his match last year with Lesnar. Why Vince continues to try to make him the new face of the company is beyond me. There is no chance he is going to get over as a babyface. He should go heel and eventually make the babyface turn. Don't get me started on Shane vs Taker...
  20. I was really close to canceling my subscription to the network until they added all of the older territories. I'm hoping they add some older AWA stuff soon. As far as the NXT show goes, I'm a little surprised they didn't run a bigger venue like Panther Arena. Ring of Honor regularly fills Turner Hall, and its capacity is probably only 800-900 people. (Including SRO)
  21. Dusty has dead. Hulkster's career is ruined. Now, Piper is gone. My childhood has been taking a beating the last couple of months.
  22. I’m selling the majority of my less common bobbleheads. I simply don’t have the room to display them anymore. I want to post my list here before I move them to Craigslist and Ebay. Most of the prices listed are from the price guide here at the forum, but I’m willing to negotiate. Photos are available. I also have most of the common Brewers bobbleheads from 2004-2010. I also have all the Brewers media guides from 2003-2015 and Snappers programs from 2004-2008 and 2010 if anyone is into collecting that type of thing. I live near the Dane/Jefferson line and am willing to meet a reasonable distance away. Otherwise I can ship them. Please send me a PM if interested.
