  1. There had to be some records resulting from this game. For instance: - In the same week, has a starting pitcher ever lost a 1-0 game and then been the starter in a game in which his team gives up 14+ runs and had his team win? - Has there ever been consecutive games where the winning team had 2 runs and then the losing team had 14 runs? - I assume both teams had a 90% win probability multiple times. That couldn’t happen often. - The game having 10 runs scored after the 8th inning could be close to a record in games involving the Brewers.
  2. On August 29, 2018, the Brewers were coming off a 9-7 loss to the Reds and were in danger of falling 8 games back of the Cubs in the loss column before rallying for a 13-12, extra inning win in Cincinnati. Perhaps tonight’s 15-14, extra-inning win in DC can be a similar springboard.
  3. Well, so as not to stack lefties. But clearly would have rather had Thames in that situation if you could pick. Except the Twins have no lefty reliever besides their closer.
  4. He last pitched on July 24 so could possibly be Tuesday’s starter.
  5. Nothing could be more true. Sadly. Since all this is right on the money, the only thing I can see the team doing now is getting serviceable rentals for the rest of the season. Basically, other team's #4's and #5's and veteran iffy relievers on July 31. We might even have to take on salary to get it done. I thought a big name was coming our way, but not any more. The fringe chance is trying to trade for a Bauer so we have him next year too. I can't see us getting rid of Moose and Grandal so we are not giving up in July. There are only 4 games now before the deadline, and even if we lose them all.... probably not enough to trade off parts. The majority of fans will not be in support of the team giving up or in in July. I NOW cannot see us adding big because of the cost to do it (with so many teams in contention) and our vast dire needs, not just one or two guys anymore. You get two veteran pitchers before the deadline. That's what they need. Minor league players won't work deep in the playoffs. Look at Chris Middleton of the Bucks. He showed no experience hurt the Eastern Conference games in both Toronto and Milwaukee. He choked big time. The team needs veterans NOW.
  6. The Twins recently have DFAd a pitcher any time he has a bad outing. This is the fourth time in the last week. Parker has given up 1 run in 10+ innings before having a rough outing against the Yankees. If he’s added, it would allow Houser or Peralta to be added to the rotation.
  7. DS will know a lot more after this weekend. Whether they're 5 games back or 1 game up will likely impact his decision making.
  8. Brewers have given up runs in 11 of the last 17 innings, to the third-lowest scoring team in the NL.
  9. Can Chacin be replaced by a guy who looks like he wants to be out there and/or appears to have a morsel of confidence?
  10. NL Central teams gave up 16 runs in the 8th inning and beyond last night (Brewers actually gave up the fewest). Many teams will be searching for bullpen help.
  11. NL player of the week! When’s the last time a Brewer rookie did that?
  12. Add Woody to the list with Sheets and Nelson: aces getting hurt during a pennant race.
  13. Counsell may want to consider leaving pitchers in who are doing perfectly fine.
  14. D. Guerra may have a better chance being on the Bucks roster than throwing another pitch for the Brewers.
  15. Does Perez become a free agent this offseason if he’s not put back on the 40-man roster?
  16. Perez will be back in Milwaukee in September, right?
  17. Does Mo’s get very crowded before Saturday night games? Would it be a hassle to have a group of 6 or so be able to sit down and have a meal two hours before the game, or would it be too packed?
  18. Information I’ve seen shows Sano to be an average or even slightly above average third baseman this season.
  19. It would be hard for the 1990 Nasty Boy Reds to need to get 12 outs every single game.
