Virginia extending its stay at home order through June 10 is not a good sign. It’s many steps between not being allowed out of the house and 26 guys hanging out in a dugout and traveling all over the place. And then it’s many more steps for 40,000 people to be allowed to sit together in a stadium.
After all the concern expressed about third base, Erceg is going to hit .600 this Spring and suddenly we’ll have too many good players at the position.
Is Maeda any better than Chase Anderson? The Twins could have picked up a similar starter without giving away one of the best arm prospects in baseball.
The Twins needed to make a splash to satisfy their fan base more than the Brewers needed to. The Brewers have some built-up capital in that area due to the Sabathia, Greinke, Yelich, Moose, and Grandal transactions over the past 12 years.
Perhaps hating Rob Manfred will be the thing that unites Americans again. I can imagine even the most hard-core Republicans saying, “go get ‘em Bernie” on this one.
Gibson is painful to watch - the master of the 100 pitch, 2 hour, 5 inning starts. I’m not only glad he’s not on the Brewers, I’m glad he’s not in the NL.
I almost feel as happy about this as when Yelich won MVP last year. I believe the Brewers have won more MVPs than gold gloves the past decade. It’s good to get the monkey off the franchise’s back, and I’m happy for Cain.
I can't ever remember a trade that seemed as dumb at the time, but then seemed even dumber within a year. I do actually feel bad for Pirates fans for that one. In retrospect, it may have been worth it to get swept in that 5-game series in Pittsburgh in return for that franchise self-destructing and being basement dwellers for at least the next 5 years.
One minute: we’re in an unprecedented time for balls jumping off bats. Next minute: Lenny Dykstra has the 4th highest slugging percentage in the history of postseason baseball.
