  1. It would be tough to have a bullpen game as the sixth game in five days. Most of the bullpen guys have already thrown two days in a row (Sat. and Sun.).
  2. A rain out is possible tomorrow in KC, meaning Gasser may be the 26th guy in a Saturday DH.
  3. I agree on Ross and Milner being let go (even though they both have value). Another pitcher will be placed on the IL to allow Hudson, Megill, and Hall to return.
  4. Which pitchers are getting removed from the 26-man roster when Hudson, Megill, and Hall return?
  5. The Brewers need a starter for Tuesday, and it seems too early for Montas to be the guy with a physical being needed and the trade not being announced. Could Chad Patrick be a candidate? He’d be on his normal rest.
  6. Looks like a 12-team playoff won out! (instead of 14)
  7. Before losing too much of spring training, I hope both sides consider the roller coaster that pitchers have already ridden since the shortened 2020 season. They need to return to a normal pattern. Otherwise I’m concerned there will be collateral damage like when the Brewers lost a future ace (Cal Eldred) due to a shortened season plus shortened spring training in 1994-95.
  8. The proposal tweeted is: Yankees get: Christian Yelich Josh Hader Brewers get: Aroldis Chapman Luke Voit Aaron Hicks Domingo German MLB Trade Values has Yelich having such negative value that the Brewers could throw in Turang, Mitchell, and Frelick, and the trade would still favor the Brewers. A rebound to just Yelich being an above-average player would be the biggest franchise development in 2022.
  9. Jones’ best year in a great career may have come in a Brewer uniform at age 40. WHIP under 0.9, 9 walks, 82 Ks, 36 saves in 37 chances. Uecker described his pitches as slow, slower, and slowest.
  10. Looking at the MLB trade value website, between the two franchises, the Brewers have the top 6 organizational players in terms of surplus value: Burnes, Peralta, Woodruff, Adames, D Williams, and Urias. It’s a similar story comparing the franchises’ pitchers. That’s surprising to me given all of the hype about the Twins’ prospects in recent years. It also may provide an opportunity for the Brewers to fleece the Twins and attain a player who’s cheaper with more upside than Kepler.
  11. It’s amazing. There are so many filthy relievers in baseball.
  12. His single-season OPS+ of 35 would be lowest in Brewer history, overtaking Chad Moeller’s 40.
  13. Bo Bichette!
  14. Pulling Houser with a shutout with under 70 pitches makes me think he’s going to get a one-inning tuneup on Sunday or a simulated game early next week before starting game 4.
  15. I had forgotten that the Brewer rotation was such a mess at the end of last season that Brent Suter was their game 1 starter in LA.
  16. Woodruff for 70 Tuesday and 70 Sunday. Burnes for 70 Saturday.
  17. It would mean the Brewers have to win on Sunday, but there’s a possibility of the NL wildcard game featuring a team on a 22-game winning streak against a 106-win team.
  18. But if something is up with Devin, don’t you allow Houser to at least start the 7th instead of wasting your best pinch hitter in a 2 out, 1 man on situation. I think Counsell has just lost his mind.
  19. If Corbin Burnes, Max Scherzer, and Adam Wainwright win tomorrow, the Brewers will clinch a playoff berth.
