  1. Why is it so hard to believe that Prince might weigh somewhere close to 300 pounds? He's LISTED at 270...just look at him!
  2. Yep, they probably can afford Ben Sheets. But that doesn't mean they'll pay him what he'll get. And rightly so.
  3. I guess I can't get too "know it all" on the people who think Tony Gwynn Jr should be an everyday player. The Brewers scouting department and front office made him a second round pick. They're just as guilty for being blinded by the name Tony Gwynn as those 'casual' fans.
  4. I think Halladay could be had for Prince pretty much straight up. Why not? Halladay Gallardo Parra Suppan Bush That right there is pretty darn close to the rotation they have right now. And as far as not having a replacement for Fielder, why not Mat Gamel?
  5. It is 12 points, but it is one year. The three years are how long moving violations stay on as far as insurance purposes go.
  6. I wouldn't go as far as to say he's a "solid" #3. But he is a pretty good back end of the rotation guy.
  7. Why on Earth would you pay for a 20 game pack and then stand instead of using your seats when you could just buy Uecker seats whenever you felt like going and do the same thing? Sorry man, that makes no sense.
  8. Related note: Kerri Walsh is somewhat attractive. If by somewhat you mean not at all, I agree.
  9. Well Chauncey Billups was the 3rd overall pick in the draft I believe.
  10. First, as someone mentioned, BA Baracus was hardly the leader of the A Team. Silly, wrong, comparison. And since you brought it up, just because you're 5'9" and fat as hell doesn't make you some kind of MMA tough guy. Maybe Fielder could beat up Manny Parra. Maybe not. Maybe Gabe Kapler or Corey Hart is the baddest dude in the Brewers clubhouse, we don't know. Fat does not equal bad ass. Bottom line, it was stupid. If Elijah Dukes or Milton Bradley had done it, there would be outrage. In my eyes he's less of a man because of it (except in the belly), not some muscle enforcer the Brewers count on.
  11. Yeah, Prince was just goofing off. He didn't punch him, he just pushed him down, twice, once in the face. No big deal, he was just trying to intimidate him, being the alpha male and all. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  12. Sorry guys, that double play was a routine double play at the major league level. Of course the runner came sliding in hard. Tailor made, routine double play...out of the inning. Instead two runs and an eventual loss. As Tom Haudricourt said, it's big boy time now. Excuses like Johnson came in sliding hard doesn't cut it.
  13. Durham is still behind Weeks defensively so you have to make your arguments on the offensive side to think that Durham should play. Tough argument to make as far as I'm concerned. Please don't throw zone ratings or whatever at me. Just rewind the tailor made double play that Weeks screwed up tonight. What stat other than an error shows that? There's no Important Error, and Regular Error stat that is out there.
  14. Have you ever been to Wrigley in Brewers gear?
  15. Yes, not to be dramatic, but the botched double play tonight was a play that Ray Durham and most 2B would have easily made. Just the last straw for me. And as I said, it's not like the Brewers management doesn't feel similar. Stockpiling bench players that play multiple positions is smart. Getting a guy that plays nothing but 2B? Telling.
  16. Taking everything in to account, Weeks just isn't good. Young? Yes. Talented? Yes. Has Upside? Yes. Good player right now or since he's been a major leaguer? No, or not often enough. The Brewers management must have some of the same feelings, otherwise they wouldn't have traded for a guy who doesn't play anywhere but 2B.
  17. I really see no point in starting Rickie Weeks over Ray Durham in a playoff race anymore.
  18. I noticed/think the same thing about Prince after Braun homers.
  19. The team specifically said they were looking to add a bat and an arm after getting CC, so one could assume they were prepared to lose more money. This wouldn't change that at all. As you said, you forgot Durham. I'm not saying anything other than I really doubt that the team is going to lose money (or were at that point at that time) if they were to add Durham AND Giles after making that statement. Just my opinion. I'd love to see Giles added.
  20. I really dig Mark Attanasio as an owner, but if they were to get Giles, I have a hard time believing that they will lose money this year. I'd love this as a baseball move, but he's owed quite a bit of cash. Again, I would be in favor of the move, but this would scream to me that the previous statement about the financial implications of the Sabathia trade was kind of bull crap.
  21. Weeks scores a lot of runs not because he is amazing at getting on base but because he has some good guys behind him You mean like Ryan Braun? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Guys, I know what you're saying, but if you look at the statements, you really can't see where I'm coming from?
  22. So, you can't judge players with RBI, and you can't judge players with Runs Scored because it's the teammates that are good...can you judge those teammates by their RBI and Runs Scored? Is the ONLY way to judge a player OPS...and subsequently it seems on this board whether or not they walk enough? I'm not being a smart ass, I'm seriously confused. I've read countless times on this board about how RBI and how it means nothing because of teammates effect, but now Runs Scored is the same? It's chicken or egg to me. Either way, Ryan Braun is really good.
  23. It doesn't make sense because you're saying "big deal you hit someone in, THEY'RE the ones that got on base" out of one side of your mouth and then on the other side you're saying "big deal you scored a run, THEY'RE the ones that hit you in." Sooner or later the guys that do more scoring and hitting in have to looked at as the best players, right? I'm not sure why you decided to quote half of my statement.
