  1. 6 second commercials would drive me to drink and swear. So I guess if you are selling alcohol and life coaching it might work.
  2. Last night was one of the better games I've seen in person in a long time. Probably because I was getting a beer when they made the 2 errors in the same inning. Let's hope for more of the same today...minus the errors.
  3. For the record, my Leonhard comment was tongue in cheek. I am not advocating that they hire him. I am on the "Fickell ain't it" bus though.
  4. Recruiting aside they simply don't look very well coached. I hope they win out and make me eat my words but there hasn't been much to give me hope. And I was a big fan of the Fickell hire.
  5. We ARE Northwestern...or a notch above at best
  6. I think this is Fickell's last year at the helm. That Leonhard bridge burned beyond repair?
  7. He is a guy that can get very hot but can go ice cold just as quickly. I wonder if he will do better during scripted portions of the game and have issues when the defense adjusts? One thing in his favor is that he is elusive as hell. He will need to be with that O line.
  8. Cooper's play against the run may offset the loss of Clark (assuming the new guys aren't as good as Clark is at 30 years old).
  9. It won't stay like this but...
  10. There was a 32 yard completion to LaPorta but he had a lot of yards after the catch. I'd be surprised if they attempted anything over 15 yards.
  11. I thought Colby Wooden looked good.
  12. did the Lions attempt a pass longer than 20 yards?
  13. In the 2024 class, Sexton was a 4 star committed to PSU. Roy was a 4 star committed to Minnesota. 2025 class Strebig was a 4 star committed to Notre Dame. They used to clean up on those kinds of guys.
  14. No, I'm in my 50s. Big Ben Oglivie fan.
  15. We, as a society, retire too many numbers. This has been my Ted Talk.
  16. Interesting article on elite recruits and NIL money: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-recruiting-elite-2026-commits-sound-off-on-nil-packages-schools-offering-most-money-to-sign/ I think the NIL stuff will mostly impact the 5-star elite recruits which UW rarely gets. Maybe 1 every couple of years? But also
  17. At least we didn't end up with Willi Castro. He's got a line of 173/189/269/458 since joining the Cubs.
  18. I hope none of you bought a Matthew Golden jersey (or Emmanuel Wilson for that matter): https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/green-bay-packers-news/70216/green-bay-packers-news-matthew-golden-jersey-number-change
