  1. Doesn't the team or the player have to announce something in order for them to report it?
  2. J&J vaccine has been approved for emergency use.
  3. Gah. Oh well. Illinois didn't miss any free throws at the end.
  4. Trice just scored 13 points in less than 2 minutes. Jordan Taylor-esque edit - now 16 in just over two minutes. Wow. Probably won't be enough but heck of a performance edit - make it 19. Maybe it will be enough!

    Pizza

Art of Pizza is very good deep dish. Lou Malnati's is known for their Chicago style but I really like their thin crust. I think one just opened in Brookfield, WI. Some other Chicago places we like are Coal Fire (not as good delivered) and Craft Pizza. Another thin crust that's pretty decent is Bartoli's.
  6. I'm not sure if all apps have this but for those that live in a state with legalized sports betting, the Points Bet app lets you cash out mid game. So lets say you bet $50 on a big underdog in college hoops and they have a 3 point lead in the 2nd half, the app will live update the cash out as the game goes along. So if the underdog scores a bucket and they go up 5 the payout goes to like $70 (depending on time remaining). It's a good way to cut losses or, if you think your long shot has been playing over their head, lock in some profit. Darren Rovell did this during the B1G championship game. He had a longshot futures bet on Northwestern to win the B1G and cashed in at halftime when they had the lead.
  7. Wouldn't the same be said about JJ Watt? He got into it with their HC. Yes. That organization is an unmitigated dumpster fire.
  8. I'm guessing this was leaked by his agent and no such offer exists. I have no proof of this.
  9. If you didn't ditch your GME, you made some money back today.
  10. I think you just described Thon Maker. you know kinda looks like Thon except way more skilled on offense.
  11. That's a really good point, and one that hasn't really been brought up much. It appears that players are not going to have the traditional access to the video room this season, but they will have iPads in the dugout that will allow them to access the same information they would have gotten in the film room. I think that really affected Yelich last year, along with many other star hitters across MLB. The Athletic had an article about this in January: https://theathletic.com/2294118/2021/01/05/missing-in-game-video-christian-yelich/ “To be honest, it sucks,” Cubs shortstop Javier Báez said last September of the lack of in-game video. “I make my adjustments during the game. I watch my swing. I watch where the ball was, where the contact was. I’m really mad that we don’t have it. I know a lot of players are struggling, too. A lot of stars are struggling. I’m just one more. But the way that it is is not the way we play baseball. I need video. I need video to make adjustments during the game.”
  12. In the 23 games Holiday played the Bucks had a +9.9 point diffetential, solidly ahead of the +8.8 they posted in their 60 win season & fractions behind their +10.1 mark from last year. They weren't even really struggling. Yeah, they were #1 in the league in Net Rtg with Holiday.
  13. I am super optimistic the weight loss will make him more flexible thus producing more torque in his swing. He will be awesome.
  14. What's the guys upside? I can read about the measurables, that he just started playing the game 6 years ago, his defensive ability...but I haven't watched him much and a lot of the draft profiles talk about the limits to his game. Does he have a chance to blow up like a Siakam or a Christian Wood? Not in that he'll be a similar player to Wood, but someone who can be more than just a role player at sit at the end of the bench? We're gonna have to find another contributor or even a star if we're going to contend over the next 4-5 years. Can he develop into one of them? He's skinny and kind of a tweener so he'll probably never be able to defend the post, he doesn't have great hands so is prone to turnovers, and I guess you could say he fouls too much but to my eye he can do almost everything else. He has like a 7'3" wingspan, can defend in space (and has been covering guards here and there) very well, he is a natural shot-blocker, he's made some great interior passes, he looks good shooting the three, he can make his free throws, etc. etc. I don't think he's starter material and he is doing this against the G League but he makes those guys look silly.
  15. This is also true. That game between Michigan and Ohio St reminded me of the late 80's early 90's Big Ten.
  16. I'm curious, seriously, just curious as to why this term bothers you so much. Is it a political issue. Do you consider cancel culture to be a political term that causes issues in discussion? I wasn't aware that cancel culture was an offensive term, but I figured you were offended by the term when I used it a few weeks ago, and you removed my post. Again, not trying to start anything, just want to understand why the term can't be used... It doesn't bother me. It's political/contentious.
  17. I'd be willing to bet there were plenty of journalists that called out the stadium swindle. Here is one: https://deadspin.com/mariners-demand-180-million-in-public-funds-or-they-wo-1827920723
  18. I think I'd give him a little more leeway if he was calling out just one guy but to go on a rant about more than one player is a problem.
  19. Can we avoid a cancel culture discussion? Thanks.
  20. I think Giannis has figured out free throw shooting
  21. He only played guard at Indiana and is listed as a guard on the roster. Unlikely they think he's a tackle. You're right. For some reason CBS (and others) had him listed at a tackle after the draft.
  22. Mamadi Diakite has been burning up the G League. I've been watching his highlights every game and the guy is everywhere doing everything.
  23. I feel like maybe the golden age of TV ended with GoT. Maybe it's just TV burnout from too much time at home during Covid but I struggle to find any shows worthy of binge watching anymore. I probably have about 6 shows I am in the middle of but I still turn on the TV and can't find anything I want to watch. Was just looking at the Emmy's from last year and maybe Succession is something I should pick up again but like so many other shows I just sort of burned out on it after a season or 2, they just don't suck you in like Breaking Bad or the Sopranos did. I did recently watch The Newsroom for the first time and got through that pretty quick, only 25 episodes or so not sure why it was so short lived. Maybe it's time for a swing back to movies being the big thing again but yeah have to get out of this comic book stuff. You may be right. The last year hasn't been that great but I'll throw Better Call Saul against any show out there right now. If anyone is into mafia crime dramas (and doesn't mind subtitles) there's a good one on HBO Max called Gomorrah.
  24. They've also got Stepaniak at OT that they drafted last year. He was hurt most of the season but came back to practice right around the last game of the year.
  25. They are overly conservative on closing it in normal times. Many games with temps in the low 60's the roof is closed. Now it will be open. The reason to close the roof is so more people go to the games in inclement weather but that is not a factor since there won't be many people there to begin with.
