  1. Hey, I talked my way into Fenway without a ticket not once, but twice. Two of my favorite stories! One was a Yankee-Red Sox game. I snuck into a game at Camp Randall years ago. The first Jump Around game as a matter of fact.
  2. Yeah I feel like this has been Counsell's MO before. Get the win and don't worry about the next game.
  3. Michael Thomas has been declared OUT for the game.
  4. Walked in and out without being caught. Considering he was riding on a tractor kind of impressive. With the season still dead at that point in time guessing no one was really around. He is pleading not guilty due to mental illness or whatever the technical term is. You have to be pretty mentally ill to break into Miller Park, grab a tractor, try to write your name, and instead tear up everything. Apparently, the security guy saw him right away but he made a move and said something like he had a gun so the security guy, smartly, just kept an eye on him and called the cops.
  5. Do we know anything about the guy? Could be mentally ill. Kinda crazy that he just walked through the door like that. Edit: Yeah sounds like this guy has some issues: "According to court records, Lambert is the same person who is the subject of a restraining order filed by WISN 12. The WISN 12 News management team sought the restraining order after a man showed up multiple times to our front door months after the Miller Park incident."
  6. This is the type of hyperbole that is all over the internet, and is dividing us. This is not helpful in any way. "Herd immunity truthers" is both dismissive, and really makes no sense. Claiming that anyone who believes herd immunity is part of the solution have no problem with infecting and killing others is, well, a disgusting comment to make. OK, so let me get this straight. My comment is the type of hyperbole that is dividing us and isn't helpful, but you throwing around phrases such as "we can't hide in the corner for two years, for a whole lot of reasons" isn't? I mean, to me, that reads as a direct insult to those who have chosen to take precautions. I'm not a big fan of being called a coward. There is certainly some basis to the idea that herd immunity is part of the solution, along with taking safety precautions and an effective vaccine. It is those who are propping up herd immunity, and advocating a "business as usual" approach as the only viable solution, who I believe are missing the mark here. The other thing I've noticed about people that are pro herd immunity is that they offer up "We will protect the vulnerable" as a solution but haven't really given any details as to how that would happen. The "vulnerable" are not just elderly and retired. There are a ton of them in the workforce (as you know given your diabetes diagnosis). It may be that we get to herd immunity in the long run but to strive for that without precautions (e.g. mask mandates, social distancing, etc.) will put a massive strain on the healthcare system as we've seen in places like Houston, Miami, New York, New Orleans, etc.
  7. I come from a long line of Canadian margarine smugglers.
  8. We got on the list in '92 and got our tickets when they expanded the south end zone in 2013. We wanted the Green package but when the chance came to get the Gold we took it. I think we were like 20K when we signed up. Good timing as that was right before Holmgren's first year.
  9. Congrats!
  10. I've read that there is no direct correlation between amount of exercise and weight loss. It sounds counterintuitive but it makes sense based on personal experience. When I am in a groove working out I am always eating because I'm always hungry. So I'm just replacing the calories I burned with more calories. Exercising alone won't do it - you need to change up your diet too.
  11. Effective herd immunity likely means at least a 70% infection rate. Even at a very conservative 1% mortality rate, that is 2.3 million more dead people. I think for this disease it's less than that but I'm not advocating for herd immunity by any stretch. Just feels like it's never going to go away given the response.
  12. I feel like the way things are going we are going to hit herd immunity or get a vaccine. Hopefully the latter comes prior to the former.
  13. Changed title to match the one you created about Christian Yelich.

  15. Wisconsin Covid hospitalizations crossed 500 for the first time today.
  16. Seeing Peavy's name got me wondering what he's been up to. A quick Google search gave me this: http://www.norriscenter.org/slider/employee-spotlight-jazz-peavy-residential-care-specialist/ Good for him.
