  1. I would say any perceived drop in performance after a home run derby is because a lot of guys have really good first halves (hence the invitation to the derby) and then come back to the norm in the 2nd giving the appearance that the derby somehow caused the drop.
  2. I didn't realize Turang was stealing so many bases. He's 21/25
  3. I’ll wait until they reach A+ before I get too excited. Too many draft picks I liked didn’t make it past A ball Doug you've been here as long as I have. The whole board was giddy about Lou Palmisano.
  4. The Houston Astros are interested in a trade for Matthew Boyd, but are unwilling to include Kyle Tucker in a deal with the Detroit Tigers. Tucker, 22, hasn't appeared in a Major League game this season. He's hitting .274/.348/.606 with 24 home runs in 76 Triple-A games this season. Boyd is under team control through the 2022 season. JON MOROSI/MLB
  5. We have a nice trail here along the lake for bikers and walkers. However, I would say about 50% of bikers ride on the busy 4 lane road next to the trail. A couple years ago a biker on the road was hit by a car and injured. There was uproar on the local Facebook groups, etc. about the biker being on the road when there is a separate and protected trail specifically for bikers 20 feet away. The biker crowd said they preferred the road to avoid the walkers on the trail. Point is, you can't win. You need a wider trail. Or one for walkers and one for bikers.
  6. Totally agree. There was a recent article in the Wash Post about shrinking sidewalks.
  7. See the Rangers also cut Shelby Miller loose, I wouldn't mind the same kind of deal for him. I thought Miller was going to be stud.
  8. Hope you never get the motorized scooters up there. They debuted down here a few weeks ago and are already annoying everyone.
  9. I am pro-bicycle and pro-pedestrian and feel they get shafted in terms of city design all the time but nothing galls me more than when they ignore the rules of the road. If people want more bike infrastructure and better walkability they need to share the road just like they expect a car to. Safer for everyone that way.
  10. Facts. It's unbelievable really. And their home/road splits are eerily similar. Like...almost identical.
  11. Brewers' Gio Gonzalez: Won't return before All-Star break June 26, 2019 6:10 PM ET | by RotoWire Staff Gonzalez (arm) will not return before the All-Star break, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Gonzalez felt some soreness during his most recent bullpen session, prompting the Brewers to adjust his throwing program. A new return timetable for the southpaw has yet to emerge.
  12. I mean this could be the response to literally anything the Brewers do that someone doesn't agree with (e.g. Hiura/Shaw)
  13. Dave Nilsson in '96 Holy crap a Dave Nilsson reference. The dark days Someone should start a cover band in Milwaukee and call it Dave Nilsson and the Ross River Fever.
  14. I can't believe it's been over 10 years since Nick Adenhart died.
  15. Really sad. I wonder if he just had some kind of undiagnosed heart issue?
  16. I think Matthews can be real effective if they keep him to less than 20 min per game.
  17. Just think how mediocre that would look if you took out what he did against the Brewers. He needs another series with the Crew to recharge his batteries. Mediocre is one way to put it. Here is his current slash line: .246/.336/.405/.741 Take out his numbers against the Brewers and it's: .219/.310/.326/.636 He has 30% of his total bases against Milwaukee.
  18. Not really. They don't have nearly the same segregations issues we have, and they've made it a concerted effort to try and de-segregate the schools down in Indianapolis. Indy was ranked 11th most segregated city in the country. Obviously not #1 but still pretty bad. But regardless, here is his entire comment on Milwaukee: "Before I came to Milwaukee I’d heard the city was the most segregated in the country," Brogdon said in the article. "I’d heard it was racist. When I got here it was extremely segregated. I’ve never lived in a city this segregated. Milwaukee’s very behind in terms of being progressive. There are things that need to change rapidly.”
  19. Sterling Brown is a good three point shooter too. He can't get to the rim like Brogdon though.
  20. This happens a lot in Chicago now. I use two separate crosswalks (no traffic light, just crosswalk and Pedestrian sign) on my way to work and I would say the stoppage rate is like 85%. There's another one by our apartment that is the same. I think it took drivers a while to figure out that's what they were supposed to do and also the city made some small safety improvements to make the crosswalks more evident. It may also help that there are so many Uber/Lyft drivers that are in their cars all day that know the rules.
  21. Well that was a fun couple of hours. Time to do something else with my life. Keep it civil, dudes. It's just sports.
  22. Also, Al Horford is Dominican?
  23. Horford to Philly 4/109
  24. OK, enough about other posters and back to the Bucks...
  25. Let's not forget that Donte was get 15 - 20+ min off the bench at the beginning of the year. So he must have showed a lot during pre-season. I think he's a sleeper.
