    Yeah, I just moved to the area and I would’ve figured the buzz for playoff baseball would have been the talk from just about everyone. Hasn’t been the case so far. A little disappointing on that end of things. It's weird. I see Brewer gear all over the state but it's almost like people are waiting for a big losing streak. I didn't get that sense back in 2008 or 2011. Maybe because the guys powering the team haven't been here all that long? I dunno.

    I think I'm exaggerating but paid attendance was 30K. Friday game in the heat of the pennant race? That's not that great even if every one of them showed up, IMO.

    If you had told me at the start of the year that Miley and Chacin would be their best pitchers, I'd have said the Fangraphs win estimate was too low.

    These off season minor league affiliate swaps are becoming quite the soap operas.

    When a player hits multiple rough seasons he either keeps doing the same thing and hope for some luck or he changes his approach to become less dependent on luck. Miley chose the latter. While there is some luck to this run, I agree it all can't be attributed to pure luck. This cutter is new for him too. Never threw anywhere near as many before this season.

    Interesting because I've also seen that pitchers are throwing less strikes and getting more swings out of the zone than every before. In fact, and don't quote me on this, I thought I saw that Patrick Corbin is having a career season in spite of throwing only something along the lines of 30% of his pitches in the strike zone. Yeah I don't know if anyone has come out and said "I'm swinging earlier in the count because...". It's just a theory as to why some guys are swinging earlier in the count. I'd be curious what Corbins 1st pitch K% is vs the other pitches in the count.

    Yeah if I had to guess I'd say he'd be first off the bench depending on the matchup. Having said that, doesn't CC know I'm in the first round of fantasy baseball playoffs??? First Mookie Betts takes a day off and now Yelich. Not good.

    There is a hitting theory out there that it's best to avoid a pitcher's "out" pitch and that pitcher's are taking advantage of hitter patience by throwing more strikes early in the count.

    Miley is inducing more soft contact than previously in his career. His GB/FB ratio is the highest it's ever been and he is not K'ing as many guys. He's basically turning into a different sort of pitcher. Whether that continues or not remains to be seen but I don't think it's all chalked up to luck.
