  1. FYI - both are arby eligible next year and both are free agents in 2021. Nelson is 28 and Anderson is 29. And I guess I'm not advocating trading either one but I could see the case for trading Anderson if the brass thinks he's going to go backwards next year. I realize this is counter to my earlier post but I won't edit it.
  2. Why sell him? I don't think you can have too many good starting pitchers. Because he will probably regress next year. Randy Wolf syndrome.
  3. Nelson has been consistent all year at drawing soft contact. I think he's the real deal. Anderson is a good sell high candidate this off-season.
  4. And that's not a crazy story at all.... :p The Iguana....not to be trifled with.
  5. 1 game out and the offense is just coming out of a pretty long funk. Bodes well if a few guys at a time can stay hot the rest of the way.
  6. Those guys have always rubbed me the wrong way. Too bro-ey.
  7. He's gonna get booed worse than Gagne if he flubs one out there.
  8. If everyone could move on from yesterday's bunt/no bunt that would be swell. Thanks.
  9. Every time I hear Suter's name I think of O Brother Where Art Thou....retweet if you get this reference.
  10. He stole 52 bases when he was 27. I still find that hard to believe.
  11. That's because humans make illogical decisions all the time....most of the time without even realizing it. Read up on Kahneman - won nobel prize in econ - and his work on bias in decision making.
  12. It's a lottery ticket. If he figures it out great, if not you've given up little if anything of value.
  13. Dunkirk was great. Loved it. See it at an IMAX theater if you can.
  14. Speaking of brining....I discovered/tried brining for the first time this April. It was like I had eaten chicken on the grill for the very first time. I just never thought to do it before. Granted I have only really been grilling a lot in the last year or so as previous apartments didn't allow it or I didn't have the room to do it. Literally had never had a juicy chicken breast on the grill before. They always turned out chewy or over done. Brining literally changed my life for the better.
  15. North of Campbellsport
  16. My SO is from Joppa Town. I rarely get out there during the summer but would love to take in a game at Camden at some point.
  17. Regardless of the content of the post or the poster, let's please stop telling posters to get out or go away. Use the "report a post" feature or PM a mod if you see something that shouldn't be posted. These "go away" posts are cluttering up threads and conversation as much as the troll posts and stuff that people don't want to see. There's where I disagree with ya completely. Mods have not done a great job as of late with the shenanigans from a few posters. It's really taken a toll on this place in quite a few threads. We can't be everywhere. Threads sometimes progress quickly. Using the reporting feature alerts a mod to a problem right away since we get a "bat signal". I will say that we have banned one user recently because of two reports of bad behavior. System works. Gotta use it.
  18. Sorry, I will never subscribe to the theory that acquiring a pitcher will help your team hit better.
  19. I'm a pretty big glass is half full guy but I can't help but be disappointed by some of the numbers the top ten guys are putting up this year. Ray, Erceg, Diaz, Dubon are not doing much of anything.
  20. Is the argument that Hader was a better option than Webb?
  21. How good has Jimmy Nelson been? Wow
  22. Tough to find anything to attack when you're the Clayton Kershaw of message board posters. There will be no personal attacks. Period. Follow the rules or you'll be suspended or banned. There's been a lot of snark and condescending stuff going around recently. Please stop. Be civil, accept opposing opinions as a part of life, or post elsewhere: What kind of discussion is allowed? Discussion about baseball, and especially about the Milwaukee Brewers, is encouraged. In all subforums, our goal is to maintain a civil and mature posting environment, where the discussion is thoughtful, substantive, and respectful. What kind of discussion is not allowed? Condescending talk toward other posters (including but not limited to name-calling, baiting and flaming) is not allowed. Other Brewers-related message boards are more tolerant of "talking smack" to other users, and we suggest you go there if that's what you're about. (I'm not calling out anyone in particular even though I quoted two posters. This is a general warning to play nice. Thanks!)
