  1. It was truly an epic night in the history of the site.
  2. You have to make an attempt at running the ball. The Packers don't. They say they want to but rarely stick to it. Do they not run because they don't want to or because they can't? Defenses play to stop the passing game, there has to be running room somewhere. Montgomery got a couple good runs in every now and then but that was it. Forte can run it up the gut and catch the ball out of the backfield. He was the perfect back for this team. Personally I think that most of it falls on the O-line which is very overrated because Rodgers is so good and just running around and making something out of nothing. Packers pass blocking was rated tops in the league by Pro Football Focus. Had little to do with Rodgers. Reason he can run around is because of that line.
  3. Apparently this is a really good draft for edge rushers. I would love to take a couple.
  4. Quick moderator note to everyone: if you have an issue with a poster or how this board is moderated, please send us a note so we can address it. Don't bring it up in threads or we will delete it, give you a warning, or ban you. We try to keep this place civil and have strict rules in place to accomplish that. Probably more strict than most boards. Thanks for understanding.
  5. Jeez Guion is playing guard.
  6. Let the Brett Hundley era commence!
  7. Defense has been meh for a while now and it's not the scheme. They have zero playmakers on that side of the ball.
  8. You need some kind of defense to win a championship but I'd be willing to say there've only been like five or six SB winners where their defense won it for them with a sub par offense.
  9. Your loss
  10. I guess my question is: Did Capers just get lucky in 2010? That defense was great.
  11. I mean, they've won 9 in a row and just beat the 1 seed so it is sort of working. I'm guessing if they didn't have an offense generating the points they are currently generating they might do something different.
  12. True, but it is a dome and thus there will always be a game rain or shine. So folks from the outer reaches of the state that like baseball will always have a place to watch it and don;t need to worry about rain outs.
  13. I don't think Capers is to blame for bad defensive backs and linebackers that can't cover. That's on Thompson.
  14. I think the Packers are a better offensive team on turf. They can outscore any of the remaining teams. Next week should be fun.
  15. I am pleased.....totally spent, but pleased.
  16. They are 5 point underdogs so losing by three would technically beat expectations. For what it's worth, Bob McGinn expects them to win. I have the same feeling. I think the run defense comes to play this week.
  17. If anyone in the last few posts has noticed a little editing, that was me. One phrase in particular was removed and all references to it were as well. Keep it civil, please.
  18. This is from May of last year. Amazing how quickly things can change in terms of player value.
  19. I'm going to hijack the hijack... Since we only have one thread available for GBP here at BF.net, inserting different topics is really the only way to manage it. Thus, its not really a hijack unless you don't talk about GBP stuff. Since LL.net has died off, I've put in a request to make a section for Other Wisconsin Sports. Thus, we can have different threads for Packer, Bucks and Badger topics without having to dump it all into one thread per team. The request is going up to the BF.net owner for consideration as it may change costs due to extra traffic. Just thought I'd let you know that its being considered. We need to somehow save the Draft forum at LL.net... Or at least archive all of Xellence's (aka X_tedthompsonfan) draft recaps
  20. I don't really care about the money either, it's just not creating any value. There's a lot, lot more upside in letting Knebel or Barnes develop as a closer. How long are those guys controlled? Maybe Brewers figure they can let one of them close after Feliz is traded - ala Thornburg this year.
  21. Also, shout-out to Mass Haas for finding this AND alerting the Brewers to Guerra's intention on pitching this winter
  22. The money doesn't really bother me. It's not like signing him is preventing another move. At worst they eat some of the contract when they trade him.
  23. His HR/FB spiked last year. Could have been a one off. At any rate his velocity is back up where it was his ROY year. I'm ok taking a flier on him for a year.
  24. I think in order to be versatile you probably have to be pretty athletic. I'm guessing he values the positional flexibility rather than the athleticism.
  25. AZ blitzed (or at least brought pressure) on the playoff hail mary. It was only because Rodgers is so mobile that the play had any chance at all.
