  1. Apparently Gamel is not playing tonight due to illness per TH's latest blog post.
  2. Cain's walk rate has really increased this year. He had 20 in 206 ABs last year. This season he already has 14 in 88 ABs.
  3. Funny you mention Oakland......one issue I have with save rules is that a guy can get an out yet still "blow a save". For example Andrew Bailey came in last night in the 8th inning leading by a run. He entered the game with 1 out but runners on the corners. He proceeded to give up a sac fly which tied the game. He K'd the next guy, and retired the side in the 9th without giving up a run. For some odd reason, he's charged with blowing a save because the doofus in front of him couldn't keep guys off base. Throw in the fact that a guy can get a save in a 30 - 3 game just for pitching three innings and it shows there are some serious flaws in the save rule. Sorry to go off tangent....I just think "Saves" are really overrated.
  4. I think the Sharks will come out swinging on Friday.
  5. So is Jacob God and The Man in Black the devil? Interesting line from tonight when Locke said (and I'm paraphrasing): I like the feel of the earth below my feet. I know that God cursed "snakes" to crawl on their bellies after they deceived Eve. And Locke is a Snake of sorts when he appears as the smoke monster. Crap...I swore I wasn't going to get into theories until the whole thing was over with. Arrrrrrrrgggggghhh!
  6. Meadows has been pretty darn good down at Brevard. Solid peripherals. We got something there?
  7. ditto. So they win 77 games instead of 75....that doesn't mean much to me.
  8. The Brewers need: - a defense that doesn't allow extra outs which would lead to pitchers going more than 6 innings which would lead to relievers not getting burned out which would lead to better pitching numbers over all. Unfortunately this doesn't help the offense.
  9. Loe's not on the 40 man. Who do you kick off to add him?
  10. That Hawks Sharks game was great. Niemi has suddenly become the second coming of Patrick Roy back there. He made some amazing saves with the glove. This should be a really entertaining series.
  11. The great thing about breaking up via text was that he was talking about how mature he was at the exact same moment she was reading the text.
  12. Funny stuff, Paul. I was thinking the same thing.
  13. I'd be surprised if the Cavs won 40 games without Lebron. They are not good at all without him. The year after Jordan retired (the first time) the Bulls won 55 games.
  14. Other than potentially Gamel, what young players has Macha ruined?
  15. To quote Robert, it's been awhile.... The Man Who Wasn't There This is a Coen Bros. movie starring Billy Bob Thornton and Francis McDormand. Some smaller roles filled by Tony Shalhoub, Scarlett Johansson, and James Gandolfini (along with some Coen Bros regulars). It was shot in black in white and mimics many of the noir classics of the 40s. It's about an everyman (Thornton) who gets more than he bargains for when he blackmails his wife's lover to invest in a dry cleaning business. I thought the cinematography was incredible. Terrific lighting and framing. I wasn't too keen on having Thornton play the main role but it might have been the slight southern twang he brings that didn't really fit the mood of the picture, IMO. All in all, the story was so so, but if you're a film geek you'll appreciate the photography.
  16. Has an 8th seed ever made it to the Finals?
  17. The episode lost me (pun intended) when the non pregnant woman refused to answer questions about the island. I believe she said "All it will lead to is more questions". That's lazy writing in my opinion. Not like I'm entitled to answers or something but if you're going to lead people down a path you should offer a payoff.
  18. Gennett's been a great surprise this year. Although I feel really old seeing he was born in 1990.....yikes. Will they leave him in A ball all year even if he keeps hitting?
  19. Blackhawks win! Niemi has looked real solid. Hopefully he keeps it up against SJ. I'll be rooting for Montreal tomorrow. Be nice to get some new blood in the Finals.
  20. No. No, it isn't. Well not for you. You hate everyone in baseball http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. They're all about Title IX. And thanks to the reduction in D1 scholarships, guys that would have ridden the pine at UNC or Duke are now starring for teams like Butler and Gonzaga.
  22. http://cache.jezebel.com/assets/resources/2008/02/areyoutheregoditsmedodai020.jpg Obscure reference.
  23. That's like two innings of work. He should be able to throw two innings worth of pitches.
  24. It's going to be at Monona Terrace: http://www.jsonline.com/news/wisconsin/92977724.html
  25. He's finally taking responsibility for his actions. Takes a lot of courage to admit that. I hope he can get through it and be successful.
