  1. yoshii, You are correct. Ford had it backwards - looks like the Bucks are receiving the 2nd round pick. Makes it slightly more palatable but still odd they are giving up on Meeks. Maybe they know something we don't.
  2. Bucks and Sixers talking: The Bucks and Sixers are in serious trade talks, according to Chad Ford of ESPN. Jodie Meeks, Francisco Elson and a second round pick would be sent to Philadelphia for Primoz Brezec and Royal Ivey. Read more: http://www.realgm.com/src...ade_talks/#ixzz0fuQmjUzi
  3. Light rail is a whole different animal from commuter/long distance rail.
  4. Even I'm smart enough to notice the hidden meaning behind fake Locke throwing the white stone into the ocean. The balance of power has shifted to the "black rock".
  5. Why would you give a division rival salary relief so they can go sign Bosh or Wade? Not to mention potentially help them out this year and help them get a playoff seed. Not to mention, Thomas is a loon.
  6. Ditto! I was thinking "Is Hernan famous enough to have his own home run derby?". I need to switch to double caffeinated.
  7. Apparently Leuer returned to practice today: http://www.uwbadgers.com/...returns-to-practice.html Leuer returns to practice By Patrick Herb on February 15, 2010 2:14 PM Junior forward Jon Leuer has not appeared in a game or practiced since injuring his wrist vs. Purdue on Jan. 9. Until now. Leuer was cleared to return to practice Monday morning and joined his teammates on the court during today's practice at the Kohl Center. Last week, the Orono, Minn., native began shooting after practice, but he has now been officially cleared to return to the court. There is still no timetable set for his return to game action. "I'll have to see him on the floor. It'll be tryouts again when he gets back to practice," head coach Bo Ryan said of Leuer at his weekly press conference Monday. "If he comes back to practice he's going to have to try to get back into the lineup I would think." Leuer underwent surgery without complication on Jan. 12 to repair a fractured left wrist. He started the first 16 games of the season and was the Badgers' second-leading scorer at the time of the injury, averaging 15.4 points per game. He also led the team with 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. In his absence, the 14th-ranked Badgers (19-6, 9-4) have boasted a 6-3 record. Wisconsin returns to the court Thursday at Minnesota. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. on ESPN. ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=580737#p580737 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?t=20761
  8. Syracuse lost at home to unranked Louisvile. Georgetown lost to lowly Rutgers. Like I said, I guess the Big East is full of average teams.
  9. That was pretty neat, Doc. Great to hear Betts' voice once again.
  10. I know they're really young, but 21 turnovers is awful. Crean's teams never take care of the ball. That's got to be so frustrating to watch if you're a fan.
  11. IU is just terrible. Crean is a terrible coach. I don't think they'll ever be that good while he's there.
  12. Pitt beat West Virginia so I guess that means the Big East is full of average teams.
  13. I can almost guarantee that people will boo Corey Hart on opening day. Had he not won arbitration, they would not have. To me, that is nonsensical booing.
  14. It's OK to boo.... - the opponent - Gary Sheffield - the umps - Ann Ladd It's OK to boo your own team when - they don't hustle - they commit like 7 errors in a row - they lose like 10 games in a row - they get arrested No other real reason to boo your own team. It's especially not OK to boo when it appears something bad MIGHT happen, but it has not, in fact, happened yet. Like a relief pitcher that has struggled walks the first guy he faces in a tight game. Maybe wait until he actually allows the tying/lead run to score before jumping on the guy.
  15. Good Hope is probably faster than Silver Spring or Capitol if you're willing to go that far north.
  16. The Big Hurt is officially calling it quits after being out of the game for 14 months. I assume the Hall of Fame is going to come calling in a few years. http://www.chicagobreakin...-officially-retires.html The guy was a machine in the early 90s and one of the big home run hitters of that era that I actually believe when he says he never juiced.
  17. The dogs sniffing Andy had me rolling as did Kelly's insta-crush on him.
  18. Good thing we don't make sweeping generalizations about the students... OK. Some students. Lets hear your reasoning for why they don't show up for games.
  19. Not to hijack the thread, but here's the first paragraph of that USA Today article: "Mention Milwaukee, and many people would think of city icons such as bratwurst, Miller Beer or even Laverne and Shirley." Come on. That is so tired and cliche.....I think I've seen that same line in about 20 different articles over the years.
  20. Uh, wha? It takes like 45 min to ride the Blue Line to OHare from downtown. Driving time - yeah, I could see it for sure but not via the El. Chicago to Madison isn't available to rail either. Have you researched the report to find out what the travel time for Chicago to Madison would be?
  21. Can someone tell me what Keith Law has gotten right? It seems to me that if you could gamble on prospects, the safe money would be to always bet the opposite of what he says. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just seems the guy is never right (the glaring example was him chastising the Brewers for signing Hoffman last year).
  22. Students are spoiled. They expect to win now and if UW isn't playing a big game they just don't care. Not that I'm complaining....just different expectations from when I was in school.
  23. That receipt is from Tucson. I think when you rent in Phoenix there is a Sports Area fee or something like that. Rental Car fees are really popular ways of raising revenue in almost every major city. They figure its not impacting the residents since it's out of towners (and usually businesses) that are paying it.
  24. What is I-94's profit margin? I say that in jest because I do think highways and roads benefit the economy. BUT...that was not until a HUGE, MASSIVE influx of cash created the interstate highway system back in the 50's and 60's. If Chicago to Milwaukee track were upgraded and the trains could go 110 the whole way, I bet that route would be in the black.
