  1. I guess I'd like to know how mediocre is defined from a statistical perspective.
  2. I agree coach, but the Brewers have shown a propensity for doing just that - bringing guys up and letting them sit. Hart and Gamel are the two big recent examples.
  3. I swore he was going to go into a Jim Jones type rant there "Mother, mother, mother.....". Look up Jonestown Massacre on Google if you don't get the reference - although I suppose it wouldn't have been that funny since it was a massacre. Anyway, pretty decent episode but I do agree with Russ - it seems like they recycle a LOT of old jokes on that show. I like 'em young and innocent.
  4. Agreed. It's not me and my driving I'm worried about, it's all the other crazies out there.
  5. Hotel without a doubt. Be a fun story......unless you were hacked up and fed to the pigs out back.
  6. Harden is a special talent? I agree he still Ks a ton of guys but talent is only special when it's on display - not on the shelf. I would have liked to have signed Harden to a one year deal too but to say his deal is "better" than Wolf's is a huge stretch.
  7. From what I've read the Brewers were aggressive from the start and Wolf pretty much knew he was going there right from the get go. And the fact that the Dodgers didn't offer him arby has been a head scratcher for every one with a pen or a blog.
  8. That is hilarious. I think I found my new signature.
  9. And your best player fouls out before the OT.
  10. Tied 69 69 with 3:30 left. I thought this might be a trap game with MU coming up on Sat - plus GB is pretty good this year. Guess the spread of UW by 3 wasn't so loony after all.
  11. BTN says it's showing Purdue and Valpo tonight. And the spread on the site I use has UW -5.5 which is a little more palatable.
  12. I don't think it's worse than Wolf at all, but Harden is worth a one year flier. He still K's a ton of guys.
  13. Yeah, just being conservative. Good point on Hall and Riske too.
  14. To me the money is immaterial. All this talk about value is only relevant if there's a cap. There is not. We know the Brewers are on a fixed budget but it appears to be like 90 million. Suppan comes off the books after this year....Fielder will be off the books after 2011 (right?) Braun has cost certainty built in and then....??? What other long term commitments do they have? To me Wolf makes the team better in the short term which is HUGE given the realistic window the Brewers will have with both Braun and Fielder. He'll regress in 2010 no doubt but he'll still probably be worth 2 - 4 wins above Suppan. Not only that but the signed him without giving up a prospect which can be used to get another arm mid season if need be. Did the Brewers "overpay"? Yeah they did but I don't care. To me, this deal does not hamstring the team in year 2011 or 2012 and makes them a heckuva lot better in 2010. Good deal if you look at it in those terms.
  15. This was the best option for the Brewers on the free agent market. They still need to obtain one other serviceable starter. It's a catch 22 - if they go free agent route for a proven starter they commit money long term which is risky, if they make a trade for someone that's up and coming they give up prospects or deplete the team's strength which is offense. Can't have it both ways. Risky move but had to be done. Even if Wolf regresses some he's still very valuable and worth more than $9 million per year. The big risk is injury of course but no one out there was wart free with the exception of Lackey who was out of the Brewers price range.
  16. Thanks for the update, Coach. Good luck to Angel down in DR.
  17. No FA pitcher is going to be wart free other than maybe Lackey who is out of the Brewers price range. If not Wolf, then who do you sign? It's a risky move but given the Brewers window it's one they have to take. I'd like for them to sign a guy like Harden to a one year incentive laden deal with a team option for year two in addition to signing one or two of these free agents.
  18. The only thing I can figure is that AZ thinks Scherzer is injury prone. The guy is a K machine and has the ceiling of a #1 pitcher. Dumb move on the surface.
  19. I had a similar issue when I left one company to go to a competitor and they completely locked me out of the old computer. I used something call iPod Access. http://www.findleydesigns.com/ipodaccess/ Worked just fine. Don't remember how much it cost but it was under $20 I think,
  20. Meh. Erin is hot.
  21. I won't put mine in order but here's my list of 10 off the top of my head: Memento LOTR The Lives of Others City of God Borat The Hurt Locker Best in Show Road to Perdition The Incredibles Grizzly Man King of Kong Once The Wrestler OK, more than 10...
  22. I would think that $100million would be made up over time with the added attendance. I really doubt MP draws 3 million without a weather guarantee for every game. And I shudder (pun intended) to think what it will be like in April up there. They'll be lucky to draw 10,000 on weekdays when it's in the 40's.
  23. Let me rephrase my post. I don't have a problem with storming the court/field....I just won't do it if I'm in that position again because 1) i'm old 2) I saw dead people on the ground at Camp Randall - they came back to life later but at that moment they were pulseless non breathers.
  24. I ran on the field at Camp Randall once. Too bad it was the one time people almost died. Sort of soured my take on the practice.
  25. FTJ couldn't make this thread but asked me to post his #1 movie of the decade: 1. Glitter
