  1. Can you watch NFL games on the internet? I tried watching a couple Packer games on that channelsurfing site but the quality sucked.
  2. You can watch Brewer games on the internet on MLB.com The picture is pretty darn good. I hooked my computer up to my TV and watched it that way.
  3. And remember, having an SVU does not make you Steve McQueen in "Bullitt" or Gene Hackman in "French Connection". I routinely see just as many 4 wheel drive vehicles in the ditch as I do two door hatchbacks.
  4. I think you need to give MSU credit. They're an excellent defensive team.
  5. Arenas suspended indefinitely: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4802267 What a dum dum.
  6. Paranormal Activity This is an indie horror flick done on the cheap. It gained lots of notoriety despite limited release due to its gorilla marketing and grass roots advertising. Many of you may have seen the promos on You Tube. Its about a young couple living in San Diego that are having issues with what is initially a pesky spirit of some sort. The guy is more intrigued than scared and wants to video tape or communicate with the spirit. As the movie progresses, his attempts to communicate only serve to make the entity more active and aggressive.....scary stuff ensues. It's all shot Blair Witch "documentary" style so the footage is entirely the film shot by the guy trying to capture evidence of this "ghost". So there's the inevitable "Why would you still be holding the camera while this scary crap is happening?" situation or two but on the whole it's pretty well done. The directors do really well with some of the effects especially given the small budget they had to work with. The third act in particular has a simple sound effect which is uber creepy and offers a perfect lead in to the movie's climax. I recommend this as a rental - best viewed with boyfriend/girlfriend with the lights out.
  7. I saw a story over the weekend where an elephant in Thailand or Malaysia was given a prosthetic leg (lost its front leg on a land mine). If they can do that for an elephant, I would think they could do it for a dog. In any event, it's got to be a tough decision for you. Did a quick Google search and there's actually a site dedicated to pet owners of three legged dogs (more evidence that anything in the Universe exists on the internet) http://people.ku.edu/~cadavis/WhatToExpect.shtml Good luck.
  8. I can argue based on stats. Ken Pomeroy has UW ahead of Purdue in his rankings: http://kenpom.com/rate.php If you dig deep and analyze the teams, they are really, really close.
  9. I can easily say that. Purdue is a great team and Wisconsin, while good, is still more of an unknown. So Purdue is playing better than UW because: 1) Purdue is a great team 2) UW is an unknown
  10. Badgers looked decent today but PSU was 11- 19 from the free throw line and missed several wide open threes. I still think UW would have won but the score should have been closer. They can't get away with that against better teams.
  11. Purdue is clearly better than the Badgers right now. I don't think you can say that until they play each other.
  12. To be fair, this story was leaked to the media by a playground buddy of Crittendon. Nothing's been proven yet.
  13. That's exactly how I do it too.
  14. Leuer needs to bump up the range on his jumper. He's still pretty inconsistent from beyond the arc. Dude is money on those baseline turnaround jumpers though. I think this may be a really special season for UW. They can score from anywhere on the court, have senior leadership, great guards, and play terrific team basketball. I love the fact that everyone on the team can pass and shoot - including the big guys. That's a big advantage when you can draw the opponents forwards out to the arc and unclog the lane. OSU tried to zone up and UW just blistered them from the outside. Really liking this team - Ken Pomeroy has them #6 after yesterday's game (http://kenpom.com/rate.php) And is it just me or does Ryan Evans seem to get better each and every game? He was sort of useless on offense early in the year and now he's hitting turnaround jumpers all of a sudden. That guy might have a heck of a career when it's all said and done.
  15. Kohl should grow a pair for once and have Stern appear before a senate sub committee. (Kidding, but I think someone with dough should at least investigate these guys)
  16. Billy Beane wouldn't trade for Bill Hall http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Northwestern is probably not the norm but there's an old story about how stringent their academic requirements are. Tommy Amaker intereviewed for the head coaching position once upon a time and he brought with him two high school transcripts with the names redacted. He asked the powers that be at Northwestern if these two individuals would be allowed to play hoops for the Wildcats. He was given a resounding "No way!". Tommy then told the interviewers that the two people they just rejected were Christian Laettner and Bobby Hurley. No way they'll ever win anything of note with those kinds of standards.
  18. I agree that it looks like the Mariners are getting the short end of the stick. I don't like the idea of banking on future compensation picks as a reason to trade off solid prospects. It's not like Jack Z is batting 1.000 on his 1st and 2nd round picks.
  19. Good for Cam. Two years would have been a bit much for the Brewers to offer, IMO. Glad he's not a Cub - would hate to boo him http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. JS Online reporting that Maymon has quit the team. (Edited to add link - hawing)
  21. Most of the people that give UW a bad name probably didn't even go to school there.
  22. For those complaining about he refs....UW almost ALWAYS has a better free throw differential than their opponents since Bo got to Madison. It's not luck - it's by design. I will say that Maymon looks like he could be Dejuan Blair in a few years.
  23. Thanks. I didn't think to check a dictionary.
