  1. I just don't understand why people are stuck on the whole Milwaukee to Madison thing. This establishes service from Chicago to Madison. That is a major piece of the puzzle that everyone seems to overlook. I'm starting to think it's on purpose.
  2. Funny to see Mac from It's Always Sunny make an(other) appearance. I didn't remember him when he was first on but knew he had been a part of the show from some IMDB.com research I did one day. Glad to see Claire back. I'm sort of in love with her.
  3. It will take less time to get from Chicago to Madison once this is done. So while you living in Milwaukee (I think you live there) won't see a time savings benefit, there are several million people to the south of you that will (me included). Not to mention....some people just don't like to drive - they'd rather use that time for something else. You might find the immediate cost savings more important than being productive for that 1.5 hours. Perfectly fine. But that is a major reason why someone else would take the train even if it takes the same amount of travel time as a car and costs a little more.
  4. I think the Cubs have threatened to move to Florida which is exactly why they are able to get AZ to do this. The Cubs far outdraw every other team down there and it's probably not even close. Their argument is probably that without them, everyone loses. And while they're probably right, they're still being jags about it. I hope no one caves to their demands.
  5. This is where they really miss Leuer - nights where they have a taller opponent and UW isn't hitting their threes. Of course, that doesn't excuse the defense but still...
  6. “I miss you guys. That’s why I’m having this burrito.” Classic.
  7. Gonzaga is way overrated right now. I think UW would smoke them in a rematch.
  8. http://www.jsonline.com/business/83698652.html Here's a link to the Journal article so everyone is on the same page. The report was fine. It was the spin put on the report by the governor that is the issue.
  9. Ah, ok. Missed that. Thanks.
  10. Don't they just have co-champions? I seem to recall UW splitting the title once or twice.
  11. Luis Martinez Pitched 45 innings in AAA in 2003 and gave up 5 earned runs. I think he has some ridiculous consecutive inning streak without giving up a run. Then he got a Sept callup and was absolutely dreadful.
  12. UW will win the Big Ten....my prediction after a night drinking.
  13. No, there are not a lot of homeless people in that area. That is false. Unless your idea of "a lot" is like one or two.
  14. The dollar is a fiat currency. It will collapse. The only question is when. Gold is a great hedge.
  15. What the heck are you talking about?
  16. They're about a 3/4 of a mile apart. Cheap cab ride if it's too cold.
  17. How about the job Tony Bennett is doing at Virginia?
  18. If you haven't seen Avatar, I recommend going ti an IMAX theater to get the full experience. Pretty amazing. Stupid, rehashed storyline, but visually amazing.
  19. They beat Maryland on a neutral court...which is where their NCAA Tourney games will be held.
  20. Now, just because they are near the top of the big ten, there seems to be this idea that the badgers could go to the final four. ------------------------------ Actually, it's also because they also beat Duke, Maryland, and Marquette.
  21. The top four teams have already beaten some of the best teams in the country. They will compete with anyone. Obviously, just my opinion. Time will tell but at least I am basing my argument on facts.
  22. Right, just clarifying my position.
  23. You guys really need to see The Hurt Locker. Beats the snot out of Avatar.
  24. The Big Ten is percentage points behind the Big East on that list. They flip flop every other day it seems. That's why I said the Big Ten is tied with the Big East for third best conference in the country.
  25. Let me take this one by one: but look wherever you want and the Big Ten is, at best, the 3rd best conference. - And that makes it average? Can you really take the Big Ten seriously? Iowa, Northwestern, Penn St, Indiana, and Michigan are byes and Illinois and Minnesota are just above them. The conference is Mich St, Purdue, Ohio St, and Wisconsin. - Big 12 is Texas, Kansas, KSU, and Mizzou - ACC is Duke (and Maryland if you're into Ken Pomeroy's ratings) Iowa, Northwestern, Penn St, Indiana, and Michigan are byes and Illinois and Minnesota are just above them. - So what does that make DePaul, Rutgers, St. John's, Seton Hall, Providence, Notre Dame, and South Florida - Or Nebraska, Texas Tech, Colorado, Iowa St, and Oklahoma? But beating up a bunch of crappy teams has people believing I guess - If Duke is crappy then I guess there are no good teams in this country. And the badgers beat the better teams at home and lose to them on the road. - Well yeah...that's sort of how it works most seasons. Even more so when you don't have your best player.
