  1. Given the earlier discussion on Wii I thought this would be interesting to some. http://www.brookfieldnow....tory/index.aspx?id=790153 Using Wii for rehab patients.
  2. Braun as the #16 was due solely to Toby's man hate for that draft pick http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. I think people tend to make weight loss too difficult - it's a simple equation: calories in minus calories out. If you cut back on crap, eat plenty of fruits and veggies, and exercise a few times a week you'll lose weight.
  4. Lies! You are going to use it to record your wife snoring and then create a fetish web site! I'll sue you!!!!
  5. I saw Ben Sheets and his wife at Saz's during his rookie year. I believe Saz's used to give gift certificates to the Brewer player of the game in those days - I think benny was cashing in. A couple years later I saw him at Marty's pizza in Brookfield. Also saw Jenkins at the Starbucks on Bluemound that someone mentioned earlier. There's a condo complex on Calhoun just north of Bluemound that a bunch of guys live in - my buddy's fiance used to live in there with her first husband. Also, a bunch of out of town athletes hang at Flannery's on Wells. I saw the entire Twins coaching staff in there once - saw Tony Kukoc in there the same night. When I lived downtown, I used to see Jenkins out all the time. Mostly at Kenadee's and Taylor's. Bill Hall hangs out at The Velvet Room quite a bit. But the best Brewer sighting I ever had was seeing Sexson, Kieschnick, Leskanic, and Jamey Wright at McGillicuddy's on Water. I bumped into Leskanic in the bathroom and told him I hoped his arm was doing ok. He said "Thanks, man". Then I wished them good luck on the season (I believe this was '03) as I left and they seemed appreciative. My female friend stayed and ended up getting propositioned by Kieschnick (did the whole wanna come up to my room schtick) and Sexson needed to flag a cab to take him to Brookfield. She also tried talking to leskanic earlier in the evening and he told her he worked for AT&T. Fun night.
  6. It is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too early to tell who's better between Gamel and Laporta. And for what it's worth, I'd have Salome over Lucroy based on ceiling alone.
  7. I think one key to sticking with a diet is finding one thing you eat/drink all the time that's bad for you and cutting it out of your diet. Soda is a huge one for a lot of people. Once you conquer that, move on to replacing something not so good with something good - like fruit or granola (Bear Naked is a good brand) instead of chips. As for exercise, if all you are trying to do is lose a few pounds you just need to find something you can do 3 or 4 times a week that raises your heart rate about 25 - 30% from resting for about 20 - 30 minutes per session. Jogging is a cheap way to do it, but biking is fine too. If you're not into that stuff find a team sport like basketball.
  8. You should maybe read a guide book on NOLA before pigeonholing it as a year round Mardi Gras.
  9. I"ve been to New Orleans over a dozen times and I'm sure that the 'culture' (along with the massive cost) is a big reason moving the city will never happen. And the local government of New Orleans (and historically, the state government of Louisiana) has been about as corrupt as any in the history of the United States. While other gulf port cities thrived, New Orleans went in the tank in the late 60's. I feel bad for the citizens that are forced to live with such incompetant leadership.
  10. I said after katrina that they should just up and move the whole darn city north of Lake Ponchartrain. If Gustav doesn't flood the city again, another hurricane will within the next 100 years. It's below sea level for crying out loud. Why waste money rebuilding something that will just be destroyed again? And I agree with Joe's original post - I thought the 'minority' comment was really pushing the limits of what's allowed on this board. That kind of thing should be on the political board.
  11. Ask him why the Cardinals went back to sleep again.
  12. The only issue I have is that the scorer made the call within a milisecond of the play being over - I don't think he even looked at a replay.
  13. And do we really believe Pujols' age? Fairly certain he never left the US since they started cracking down on the age verification after 9/11. At least I seem to remember reading that somewhere.
  14. I pretty much discount most of McGwire's career. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Joe DiMaggio has the record for most home runs in a player's first two seasons - 75. Right now Braun is ranked 5th at 68. Here are the top five: DiMaggio 75 Kiner 74 Matthews 72 Pujols 71 Braun 68
  16. When I lived in Milwaukee I loved going to Hooligan's for dinner. They have great bar food.
  17. Why not? There are three California teams in the NL West. California's a completely different type of market. There are 5 teams out there - almost no way you can't have a few teams overlap leagues/divisions. You'll notice that two teams in the same city are never in the same league - that's similar to how MLB would treat Houston and Texas. - they could both be in the NL or AL but it'd be highly irregular to have them in the same league and same division.
  18. Can you take Washington all the way to regent? Of course, that means circumventing the capitol.
  19. There's a lot to be excited about with Salome. Until I actually see his defense I can't comment one way or the other - I always thought Weeks' poor defense was fiction until I actually saw him play - but there's no questioning his bat. A couple of things that really stand out to me are his low K rate, improved BB rate, and the fact that he hits righties and lefties fairly equally. Can't wait to see what he does next season.
  20. I don't think the league would want two Texas teams in the same division. If you wanted to get really crazy with re-alignment you could move the Marlins to a western city like Portland, Vegas, or Salt Lake and put them in the AL West and then move Cincy to the NL East.
  21. Who's this Almonte kid? 7K's in three innings?
  22. No, I moved to Chicago about three years ago and that place opened after I moved. I've heard really good things from friends that still live in MKE though. And my favorite steak place in the world is Eddie Martini's in Wauwatosa.
  23. No, not really. San Antonio is head and shoulders above Sheboygan. No comparison. Rephrasing what I said before, food in Sheboygan, compared to other places I ate in Wisconsin, was awful. No flavor, no taste, no nothing. I never found a local place that I really liked. Ah, OK. That makes more sense. I've only eaten at Charcoal Grill in Sheboygan so I have no point of reference. Although the Horse and Plow or whatever that place is called at American Club is pretty good....granted that's more Plymouth but same neck of the woods.
  24. You're seriously comparing Sheboygan to San Antonio?
