  1. Yeah, I'd like to echo the sentiments of the previous two posters. That thread was harmless.
  2. But if Harden stays healthy, he's as good as Sabathia - maybe better. The nice thing is that he hasn't thrown over 100 innings since 2005. And he's now thrown more innings this year than he did the last two combined. I wouldn't be surprised if he fades a bit in September.
  3. I think saying the Sexson trade helped get Sabathia is kind of a stretch. It's not like Jackson was the key to the deal. He was a throw in. Probably could have just as easily been someone like Hammond.
  4. I've heard pretty much all positive comments about CC on ESPN. I think they are just pointing out the risks that are involved.
  5. I'm guessing the Laporta trade will cause some promotions. Thinking Cain to H'Ville and Fryer to BC. Edit: And have we ever seen a Brevard County debut like Lucroy's? He's absolutely killing that league right now.
  6. Al, Every city on the planet with a population over 200,000 has abandoned warehouses.
  7. I'm normally not a Donnie downer about things like this but it just seems like a big waste of food to me - especially with so many people in the world that don't have enough to eat. OK, time to jump off the one soap box I own. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Cain was one of my faves last year - hopefully he puts it all together and has a big second half.
  9. Good for the city of Seattle. Key Arena just had a $75 million upgrade 13 years ago. It's about time someone stood up to all these publicly financed luxury suites.
  10. Pedroia is 3/4 of the way to the cycle in the 5th inning. Game is on ESPN - only needs a single.
  11. Wins is a fine stat to judge a team. But for pitchers it's really low on the list for me. If a guy like Rick Helling can get 20 wins with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP and Sheets gets 12 wins with a 2.70 era and a .985 WHIP there's something inherently wrong with the stat as a measuring stick. Like most stats, it has to be taken in context with other metrics.
  12. I guess it depends on if you rank by performance or ceiling. They might be very different lists - especially for a guy like Drew.
  13. There's a Omaha steaks store near Mayfair in Wauwatosa now. I'm sure my dad will try it in the next few weeks.
  14. You had to read the thread to figure out it was a waste of time? Wow.
  15. They're going to interview said dork on WTMJ in a few minutes.
  16. 1st grade? Small sample.
  17. Just wondering who you guys think will replace Lawrie at catcher in 2019? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Are you talking career or this year? Green smoked Brantley's numbers at WVA - yes he was a year older. I think Green is a touch too high and Brantley a touch too low but I'd put them about 8 - 9 and probably interchangable.
  19. I'd be curious to see the Twins team stats on the so called 'clutch' stats the last five years. (i.e. BA with RISP, etc.) and how that differs from their overall stats.
  20. We pulled similar hijinx at Hansen Golf Course in Wauwatosa. I believe it was the 4th hole. We'd hide in the woods and if someone hit the green in one we'd run out and grab their ball. The better the shot the more PO'd the guy would be. It was pretty funny at the time. Would annoy the crap out of me if someone did that to my ball - since I have so few good shots.
  21. I think Brynwood's demise started two decades ago when rich folks started moving north to Mequon and Cedarburg.
  22. Yeah, their BA with RISP is ridiculous. If I had to bet, I'd say that comes down a bit as the season goes on.
