  1. Capuano looks like a lock for an all star berth. I think he's probably the top lefty in the NL right now. His only competition would be Glavine and Cappy's stats are slightly better. Heck, the only lefty better than him in all of baseball is Johan Santana (or maybe Kenny Rogers depending on what metrics you use). EDIT: Removed Kazmir.
  2. Can someone clarify something for me? The Brewers have had the last two players of the year in the Pioneer League right? Salome and Cain? Hernan was player of the year in the AZ league, correct?
  3. In case anyone cares, here's a link to Neugie's numbers. I'd like to see Rogers get a full decent year under his belt before we get too excited - although admittedly I have a hard time tempering my enthusiasm after the last three starts. thebaseballcube.com/players/N/nick-neugebauer.shtml
  4. I'm pretty sure his pitch count is up there (He's gone 7 innings now, with 10K's and 4BB). The radio guys mentioned he was in the 80's before the 7th inning. I'd be surprised if he came out for the 8th. EDIT: Yep. Rogers is out in the 8th. MIKE JONES enters from the bullpen. EDIT: Radio guys say Rogers was "stronger and more effective as the game went along"
  5. Well Rogers finally gave up a hit in the sixth (ground ball up the middle). The radio guys say Rogers isn't even pitching as well as he can.
  6. Maybe he was tired. He did give up a double and a walk in the sixth.
  7. Great outing for CV. Too bad he won't get the W.
  8. I realize this is 20/20 hindsight, but would anyone have considered a bunt by Hall there with no outs and Fielder on 2nd?
  9. i am testing code. Code is really fun. Let's write Haiku again.
  10. Nashville getting No No'd through four. (it's OK to jinx the other team, right?)
  11. Sure, in a perfect world where all is fair and just Weeks would have played another year of AA/AAA but given the fact that he signed a major league deal, the Brewers almost had to promote him fast than they wanted to. They have the luxury of letting Hart go back and forth from AAA to MLB for a few years. It's not fair, it's reality.
  12. In your opinion, who has been mishandled other than Rottino?
  13. Is there a place that lists the lines for each of Rogers' starts? That'd be a lot of work to go through eahc BF game log.
  14. I checked his line after the 1st inning and was just waiting for someone to post - he walked the first two guys in the game.
  15. Lil Ben so far - 6IP, 8K, 0BB, 1H
  16. Well the two guys picked right before Rogers aren't really doing anything either.
  17. Weeks OBP is off too (hence, so is his OPS). Looks like it's a problem for the major league guys too.
  18. It's not just Koskie - it seems like bad baserunning is an epidemic on this team. For those not watching on TV and only on gamecenter - Koskie did not get thrown out at home....he over ran third on Weeks' infield hit and was tagged out on his way back to the base.
  19. Awesome. The Crew has 'em right where they want 'em!
  20. No kidding. Gamel's D makes Weeks look like Ryne Sandberg.
  21. Hall's Minor League Numbers Don't have historic splits, but his overall numbers (other than the year he played at the launching pad otherwise known as High Desert) weren't all that great so either his splits were ridiculously high and low, or he was just average against everyone. Hard to say, but I'd venture it was the latter and not the former.
