  1. cmon Magruder do something meaningful......
  2. if Hardy walks to load the bases here, please pinch hit for Victor, Ned. Edit: jinx brewers19
  3. Morris is really throwing some cruddy 0-2 pitches
  4. He jumped too early. That ball was catchable. If he catches that ball, it is on ESPN the next day, it hit the top of the yellow.....and another nice play by helms, and now one by Weeks to save a run.
  5. Of course, Jenkins should have caught that ball.... Huh? And, another nice play by Helms.
  6. My wife knows more about baseball than Brantley, and she ran to third after hitting the ball the last time she played softball......
  7. 3 od the 4 batters that inning hit the first pitch....Morris has not gone past pitch 105 this season - he does not go deep into games...especially in the first game of the series, we need to be more cognizent of getting into that bullpen.
  8. A home run in Jenks next at bat gets his OPS over .900.
  9. Something I just learned: Santos' home/road splits are even more startling than his day/night splits......the vamp likes sleepin' in his own coffin at night before he pitches.
  10. A couple things: Jenks hit was lucky as heck, but dumb pitch by Morris Rodriguez is a horrible left fielder based on that jump he had.. Morris, prior to that inning had walked 7 in 63 innings on the road...so that was very unusual, and came back to haunt him.
  11. nice at bat so far by weeks...... edit: he got lucky on that final walk call though, he got fooled like usual on that curve.
  12. Holy crud, what a play on d by Helms.....that was unreal.
  13. I'm baffled that the Cardinals win consistently with their current lineup. At least we aren't facing Joaquin Andujar tonight, and Dane Iorg isn't in their lineup. I was at that world series game that Andujar won in '82 before getting smoked with a liner up the box that I initially thought killed him.... And i still loathe Willie McGee.
  14. I met Rich Donnelley in spring training as well as his in-laws and they were all very nice people.....i remember that phrase, "chicken runs at midnight" from that '92 series, and that article Mass linked made me tear up a little bit..... Everyone needs to read that article that is a few posts up, and a couple posters here need to remember it the next time a runner gets thrown out at home and they start throwing Donnelley under the bus.....it is just a game.
  15. Wow, tremendous performance by Inman....Billings has to just loathe Helena.....no hit by 4 guys the other day, now Inman no-hits them for 7 innings today. If I remember correctly, even in his one outing where he gave up the 4 home runs in the inning, Inman was perfect through 3 innings...he can certainly have runs of dominance....
  16. Nobody tell Clancy that Pickler is batting .346 for Colorado Springs.
  17. That Nashville boxscore is intoxicating......I think I need to go to the drunk thread for the first time just from drinking in that 5X5 from Prince..... Man, those bats would be lovely to have off the Brewer bench...but alas, I know that wouldn't be prudent....
  18. Girlfriend's 25th Graduation party tonight Am I an idiot for not knowing what the heck this is? is it a combination birthday party/graduation from college party....or did she graduate 25 years ago? Inquiring minds want to know..
  19. Woo-hoo, Helena gets a 9 inning no-hitter as Helena beats Billings 11-0. Cool beans.
  20. Attack of the 50 foot (er, page) thread. Hide the woman and children.
  21. The Sounds have a decent lead in the standings, but they have to face the facts...come Sept. 1st Nelson Cruz, Corey Hart, Mike Rivera, Jeff Bennett, Jose Capellan, Dave Krynzel and perhaps a few others will be in Milwaukee. Huntsville will not be in the playoffs, and will be the ones providing the supplements to the roster come playoff time. Gwynn, Enrique Cruz, Sarfate, and maybe even Taubenheim will be experiencing the triple A playoff run in all liklihood.
  22. Nomar gets an 0x4 vrs. Taubenheim and company.......
  23. When Aviles said last week that the Power is hitting better with runners in scoring position, well, that starts with Braun, whose defense at third has been a head-turner, too. Braun not only has a 14-game hitting streak and is batting .326 with five homers and 16 RBI. He's batting .429 with runners in scoring position and two outs, and .538 (7-for-13) with runners aboard and two outs. Just a couple of things to point out for the next Power 50, whoever does it.
