  1. Ugh. Bruce it hasn't happened yet, but you can feel it.
  2. Uh Oh, 1st and 3rd Nobody Out. We don't Score? Have we seen this before.
  3. There we go. Double for Clark. Playoffs here we come
  4. 3 up.. 3 down Good Start. Offensively you can always tell how the 2nd half will go by what the first batter does.
  5. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif I'm depressed. Brewers' Baseball on a perfect day, and I don't live in Milwaukee anyone more. Would have biked down to this one.
  6. 3 of 4 would be very nice. Somehow split with the Cards and bring on Cin, Ariz and SF! I have to say, Ill be disappointed if the Crew isn't .500 by August. If they don't have a winning month I would be very disappointed, too. Which is nice to say because to be disappointed you have to expect something. The Brewers are starting to raise expectations, which is a good thing. Hey Crew, win this one for scoop.
  7. Ohka has made two starts against the Marlins this year and, tonight's matchup does not look favorable, to say the least. Florida pounded him against the Nationals, albeit with some shaky Washington defense. I just don't have a good feeling about tonight. See start of thread. NO negative thoughts. Only Positive feelings. Project positive energy towards the Brewers. Hint: Remember to face South-East when doing so (assuming you are in Wisconsin)
  8. I agree Ja, but I can't find a Cubs site that is. Maybe the Tribune just buys each one when it is created so they continue their Monolopy over the Cubs media sources. We can make our own list. Either way it would be nice to have these links at the push of a button on this site.
  9. I stoled this from a Marlins Board www.marlinbaseball.com. This was their list of the top fan-run or unofficial baseball sites for each team. I was wondering if we could put something like this under the 'links'. BTW, of course they said their board was the best baseball board out there. 10. There we go again. A two game winning streak (gasp) on the road and we're talking playoffs... Brewers Fans: http://knotts-berry-farm.visit-los-angeles.com/Wood-Roller-Coaster.jpg Don't worry the Fire Yost Threads will be bumped up when they lose two in a row. However, I do like the positive vibe I am feeling from this board, not to mention the Brewers. Lets keep the positive Karma flowing today. Nothing but good thoughts.
  11. Green Bay Brewer Fans. Sports Corner is where it is at. Look for a Crew Hat.
  12. I don't know how much people put into the Pythagorean Win % Calculation but the Brewers should be at .513. imo, Ned needs a .500 or better 2nd half to make sure he has the same job next year. Should the Brewers just forget about trying to play small ball? It seems they can't, and then they continue to take themselves out of innings. Lead-off doubles need to score 75% of the time.
  13. Game time tonight at 19:05 hours. AAuuggh!! Make it stop!! Rumor has it the Pirates are going to experiment with the length between the bases and put them 27.432 meters apart. Edit: By the way I have a good feeling about tonights game.
  14. This taken from answers.com Wind's Blowin' Out, Wind's Blowin' InAt no other current major league ballpark does the weather affect game play as much as at Wrigley Field. In April and May the wind often comes off Lake Michigan (less than a mile to the east), which means a northeast wind "blowing in" to knock down potential home runs and turn them into outs. In the summer, however, the wind often comes from the south and the southwest, which means the wind is "blowing out" and has the potential to turn normally harmless fly balls into home runs. A third variety is the cross-wind, which typically runs from the left field corner to the right field corner and causes all sorts of interesting havoc. Many Cubs fans check their nearest flag before heading to the park on game days for an indication of what the game might be like; this is less of a factor for night games, however, because the wind does not blow as hard after the sun goes down. With the wind blowing in, pitchers can dominate, and no-hitters have been tossed from time to time, though none recently; the last two occurred near the beginning and the end of the 1972 season, by Burt Hooton and Milt Pappas respectively. In the seventh inning of Kenny Holtzman's first no-hitter, on August 19, 1969, Henry Aaron of the Atlanta Braves hammered one that looked like it was headed for Waveland, but the wind caught it just enough for left fielder Billy Williams to leap up and snare it in "the well". With the wind blowing out, some true tape-measure home runs have been hit by well-muscled batters. Sammy Sosa and Dave "Kong" Kingman broke windows in the apartment buildings across Waveland Avenue several times. Glenallen Hill put one on a rooftop. Batters have occasionally slugged it into, or to the side of, the first row or two of the "upper deck" of the center field bleachers. Sosa hit the roof of the center field camera booth on the fly during the 2003 NCLS against the Florida Marlins, some 450 feet away. But the longest blast was probably the one that Kingman hit on a very windy day in 1976, while with the New York Mets. There is a north-south street called Kenmore Avenue that T's into Waveland. On that one day, Kingman launched one that landed on the third porch roof on the east (center field) side of Kenmore, a shot declared with only slight exaggeration to be 550 feet on the fly. No matter the weather, many fans congregate during batting practice and games on Waveland Avenue, behind left field, and Sheffield Avenue, behind right field, for a chance to catch a home run ball. The Cubs still play the majority of their home games during the day, though they are scheduled to play as many as 30 of their 81 home games in 2005 at night. Hmmm. This could be said for any team.
  15. Homer- I see you did keep that one. lol BTW, Defensive Efficiency my bottom.
  16. We can't let up. I'm not letting up. Are YOU?
  17. sktimo stated: Am I the only one who has lost confidence in all of our starters except DD and Victor Santos? You know, yes, i really do think you are. ditto
  18. Those aren't goint to be the only two HR's today. It sounds like the wind is blowing out.
  19. It is official. No Sweep. Gotta keep the brooms in the closet until after the game.
  20. Game notes said Weeks was attending his Brother's Graduation. He will return with the team today.
  21. Ha! Pay that much money to become a teacher. No way. I went to uwgb (really didn't pay there either). Seriously, my wife is finishing up her last year of dental school. We live up by the Ambassador hotel. I don't visit the college bars too much anymore for the simple reason I don't want to be that creepy 26 year old who can't let college go. In fact I don't frequent too many bars outside of Leff's on Tuesdays. Well Don, if I happen to bump into you at Caff's I will make sure to wear my retro-brewers hat. Don't be afraid to stop and say hi, and no you don't have to buy me a beer. You need to save up that money so Marq can take it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. Caff's will work. I am going to the Basketball Coaches Clinic at the Al Center. Ends at 10:00 but if someone gets boring we can always duck out early.
  23. You know what, somethings gotta change. And I am starting with the man in the mirror. I keep blaming Wes Helms or Ned Yost. The buck stops here. I am going to change it up. Instead of drinking a beer on the couch I am going to drink at least 3 in a bar tonight. Cheap beer, not the good stuff. I think we all need to stop blaming Les Helms and pitch in and do what we can for the team. It starts with me. I can't keep doing the same thing and making the same mistakes. I gotta do something to help break the streak before it gets out of hand. Whose with me? If anyone wants to help me stop this losing streak you can come to Murphy's by Marquette and buy me a beer. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif Come on people be a part of the solution not the problem. It is time to unite and stop this thing. If it is not buying me a beer, its gotta be something. What are you going to do to break the streak?
