  1. I just got back and find that the Brewers have traded away what people on here seem to think as our best prospect now. I was just curious as to why people think they won't resign Linebrink? If Melvin did this deal for a 2.5 month rental, I think we all aggree that a GM of his stature would have tried to get another guy that would remain from this deal. I think MA and Doug have both decided that they are going to try to keep Linebrink to replace Cordero in the bullpen next season. Unless I'm completely missing something.
  2. Are you a Cubs fan, or just kind of young? Hey for some of us we've seen one season in which the Brewers finished with more wins than losses, and that was when we were just a year old so those people might not remember much. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. I don't know if I agree with the constant sitting of Hardy, even if he has struggled. Maybe all he needs is some constant PT to get back to the sharpness he had in hitting early on in the season. The off-days obviously aren't helping.
  4. I don't think we'll ever know if Estrada actually had a sore hammy. You guys know how Yost won't go out to the public and criticize a player. For all we know he could have had a private meeting and really called him out and told him that if he's going to run like he's got a sore hammy, then he's going to sit like he has a sore hammy. I can hope. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif GO BREWERS!
  5. I am not sure. I was wondering the same thing. However, looking at the replay, it appeared that the Reds were just going to take the one out because the catcher double pumped the ball as if he was going to hang on to it, but he saw Estrada walking to first so he threw it. I guess I just don't understand why one of the VETERANS on this team end up doing that. That is just unacceptable and I think this is as mad as I've been at a player in a long time.
  6. Maybe that Bless the Brewers thread wasn't such a bad idea after all...
  7. I'm going to agree with Invader there. This was a team loss tonight, not the manager's. To be honest, I probably would have left Shouse in, but I would not have brought in Cordero because I don't want to use my closer for a two inning stint at the beginning of a eight game week. Sadly, the spotlight is being shone on Balfour tonight. He may have never been in that position if Estrada learns to show some hustle instead of doing his usual trot after he hits a groundball. And I have been one to usually defend Estrada. Ugh. Not anymore.
  8. I'm going to make a prediction that before we leave Cincinnati we will see a new guy in that bullpen out there. Call it a hunch.
  9. I'm going to go with my gut instead of the statistics this time and say 3-5, possibly 2-6 (god I hope not).
  10. I'm sorry but if someone doesn't get in Johnny Estradas face and tell him what kind of race he is in then I don't know what to do. Yeah, Balfour looks to be headed to Nashville (or elsewhere), but in my eyes the real blame in this game is on Johnny Estrada because what he did was something he could control.
  11. They didn't deserve to win this one anyway. Maybe that'll wake someone up.
  12. Joe Kennedy would be a nice fit for this team. He could be a swingman or could just be the LOOGY and Shouse gets axed. I am just find with the guy we have at the moment (as he gets Adam Dunn to ground out in a 1-1 game). If given a reason that they shoudl go after a LOOGY then yeah maybe, but right now I think Shouse has been arguably just as good as Turnbow, Cordero, and Villanueva. Especially lately.
  13. I'd say put Miller out there next inning. Especially if they get a guy on and try to steal. That was ugly.
  14. Hart Weeks Braun Fielder Hall Hardy Estrada Jenkins/Mench I don't know about the idea of Mench and Jenkins batting in the eight hole, but I really like the 1-7 part of that lineup.
  15. The longer this game goes, the worse I feel about this game...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif .
  16. I never mind the enjoyment of listening to Bob Uecker curse the Cubs' pitiful stadium during Brewers broadcasts, as he has done tonight. Bob is powerful enough to curse the Cubs. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. How about a Bless the Brewers thread? Do we have enough content to fill that thread?
  18. You know what we like to call that: 3TO Come on, I mean he could be a Branyan Plus!!!
  19. Well I must say I have no idea what Maddux is to this team. I must say though, I went to a game on Sunday last weekend, and then Tuesday this week and both games he was working with guys that you'd expect him to work with. On Sunday it was Capuano. He would get in the crouch and pretend he was the catcher and then Cappy would go through a delivery and pitch it at like 50%. You could tell they were working on mechanics, and I think it might have shown in the game he pitched Wednesday. On Tuesday it Bush who I saw him doing the same thing with. It could be just coincidence, but I know he is at least trying to do his job. I think the bullpen guys are more of Castro's to work with.
  20. http://woolis.com/images/2006SpringTR/05-03-02%20064Santo.jpg
  21. Why can't Ned Yost ever let one of his big sluggers have the green light on 3-0 like we have seen Bochy do TWICE this series, and work in his favor.
  22. I say if Miller Park isn't going to bring back the rally rabbit, then those in-gamers should do it in the IGT. Just an idea to spark more comebacks, something we aren't good at.
  23. It seems as if the only guy we can get out is the guy that has hit 753 home runs. Tell me why that isn't screwed up?
  24. SeriesFinale I'd just let them do it. I have decided that no matter what happens to the Brewers I'm going to remember that it is very likely that for the next half decade we are going to continue to be in a much better position than they will be.
  25. I've been watching the game with the volume off, anything on why Weeks was taken out? Kind of upsets me.
