  1. How would this work for other sports? The Bucks pay MLB to broadcast their games? But then MLB has to negotiate with the cable and satellite companies. Do they have the bargaining power of a Fox or Disney?
  2. So MLB is looking into the possibility of buying 21 of the regional sports networks that Disney is required to sell as part of it's Fox merger. It wouldn't include YES. Lots of questions about how this would work. https://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/news/2019/02/11/mlb-may-pitch-for-fox-regional-sports-networks.html
  3. For me it's: First Wisconsin Building Marquette Warriors Marc Plaza Don't forget the MECCA Arena.
  4. There's an interesting note. Hard to believe we're only 11 years away from having to worry about a new Brewers lease. https://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/news/2019/01/22/american-family-inks-15-year-stadium-deal-plans.html
  5. I haven't really cared about changing names since they attached BMO Harris to the Bradley Center. If it means more money, fine. How many names have the Convention Center and the MECCA arena had now?
  6. So in 2020, you'll be able to catch a Brewers game at American Family Insurance Field/Park and then go to a concert at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.
  7. Is it a thank you for the playoff games he won for the Brewers?
  8. Are the Brewers petitioning airlines to add a direct flight between Milwaukee and San Antonio? Looks like there are going to be a handful of guys racking up frequent flyer miles again.
  9. Yes, it was odd to hear Robb at the stadium after hearing him on the radio for so may years. But I also remember being able to go to the bathroom and make it back to my seat in the amount of time it took Bob Betts to say names like "Billy Jo Robidoux".
  10. He also played with a bad wrist for much of June, which affected his numbers.
  11. Will they finally stock t-shirts for players who are still Brewers?
  12. I think they're hiking boots. He's an active s'more.
  13. Say hello to the Rocky Mountain Vibes. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2018/11/19/milwaukee-brewers-affiliate-changes-name-rocky-mountain-vibes/2058463002/
  14. Nice cut-off date there. Are you a youngling who doesn't remember (and so doesn't want to acknowledge) pre-1983 Brewers baseball? If your first memory of the Brewers was 1983 - I get it and will let it slide. However - if you are an oldster, "What's with the cut-off date?" Nope, I've seen it all as a Brewers fan. I'm just pointing out how bad things have been since 1982. Prior to that they had 2 MVPs, 2 Cy Youngs, and 9 gold gloves in 13 years.
  15. In the 36 years since 1982, the Brewers now have had 3 MVPs, 1 gold glove and 0 Cy Youngs
  16. Yeah, I was wondering if his bat has any influence on him being a starter, all things considered.
  17. Well they have two spots open right now so I think it was a decent play by the Brewers. He was likely gone in free agency so at the very least this can get them to the rule 5 draft and then they can try to outright him off the 40 man if they need the space. If somebody claims him then they are in the same spot if they never added him to the 40 man. They also don't have many guys to protect this year after all of the trades.
  18. Yes, it was Misssaki, Herrera and Peralta.
  19. I read that they had about a third of the usual police and parking staff because they wanted to save money after paying so much extra for the playoff games.
  20. Yes, there were bar shuttles running, but they were stuck in traffic, too. I knew some people who were in a shuttle going nowhere fast, so they just got out and walked.
  21. One thing I'm not sure about is if they have regular and preferred parking for concerts, or if everyone is the same. I hate parking fees, but you can't have 40,000 people trying to park in the preferred lot. They also have a limited amount of times that they can schedule these. They either have to pick a summer date during a long road trip or right after the season ends. I imagine November could get dicey temperature wise, since they can only heat 30 degrees above the outside temperature. I know there have also been rumors of trying to do basketball, including a final four. They would have to figure out extra heating, plus the timing would be tough with them trying to get the field ready for opening day. It might also be a drawback that they don't have any hotel rooms right by Miller Park.
  22. Yeah, I wonder that too. Most people didn't make it in until 8:30 for a 7:00 concert. Could the last minute date change have affected staffing? I imagine it also made it harder for people to get there early when you can't change your work schedule.
  23. So who takes the black eye on this one? They schedule the Ed Sheeran concert on a potential postseason date. Granted they didn't know the Brewers would get that close, but then they wait until 2 days before the concert to reschedule, even though the Brewers aren't playing. So I imagine there were a lot of tickets refunded or resold. And I just heard from my wife that it's an hour past start time and people can't even get into the parking lots. Google maps show the entire area is gridlock.
  24. Brewerfan.net does have a 40 man roster with options, though it doesn't have all options. You also can't get to it from the main page, but a google search brings it up. http://www.brewerfan.net/ViewFortyManRoster.do?teamId=1
  25. I'm kind of glad the Dodgers/Braves series didn't go further. While it's nice to have a rested bullpen, I'd be a bit concerned about rust if the Brewers had a 4 day layoff and the Dodgers had a more normal 1-2 days off. But now they're both in the same boat.
