  1. That's ridiculous.I'm just joking around, I live in Minnesota.
  2. What's repugnant about Minnesota? All the Minnesotans.
  3. Wow, Ken Griffey Jr. seems more unlikable with every article I read about him. Ugh. It's just creepy to appoint yourself the fun police.
  4. I assumed the Twins would do something like this. Unfortunately, they're never just terrible (recently). I thought all along that they would pull a 2006 and come from way behind to win the division and it's starting to look like they're making their move. So, I am a bit worried about playing them. Regardless of their inherent moral inferiority, they always seem to play the Brewers well (they have somehow amassed a 36-28 record against Milwaukee despite representing a repugnant state and having repellent players) and I doubt this year will be any different.
  5. Since Ichiro came over, I've been following the Mariners pretty closely. I followed them a little bit before that too (maybe because of guilt over Milwaukee stealing their 1st team). It's actually great to have west coast team to follow with Extra Innings because usually after the Brewers are done playing, most of the Mariners game is still on tap. The time zone difference makes it a lot easier to keep tabs on a 2nd team.
  6. action, thriller, drama, or comedy? I see that you're not a fan of limiting your choices. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif How about a little more help. Do you like newer stuff or older stuff? Domestic or foreign? Have you seen most of the classics and blockbusters or are you just getting into movies? What are some other movies you've liked? Or actors? Directors?
  7. Luckily it's only the Post doing this so far. With any luck, they'll catch so much backlash that sites that are actually worth reading will decline to follow suit.
  8. I'd be shocked if the Brewers traded Prince for a shortstop at this point. Yuni is egregiously terrible but when was the last time that a team that considered itself a contender and was only half a game out traded their best hitter (who also happened to be leading the league in home runs, RBIs and OPS) halfway through the season? I can't imagine that's very common, although Melvin did think outside the box when he fired Yost with only 2 weeks left in 2008.
  9. What's this supposed to mean? What are you even talking about? How are unpaid message board posters supposed to demonstrate "accountability"? And accountability for what? Saying something "molitor fan" doesn't agree with? Who made you the arbiter of acceptable opinions? And I wonder if Wolf pitches the rest of the year like he did in 2003 or 2006 or 2007 or 2008 if you will be so eager to make a thread touting your opinion. Hopefully we won't have to find out, but I wonder.
  10. But even Winkelsas got 7 appearances (and Rightnowar got 34). I'm not saying Herrera shouldn't have been cut, what I don't like is that they brought him up in the first place if 2 appearances was all it would take for them to give up on him. It just seems poorly thought out.
  11. This series is crazy. I literally can not understand what is happening. I thought everybody always talked about how home ice advantage meant nothing, especially in the playoffs? But here are the Canucks winning three 1 goal games at home and getting absolutely crushed in every game in Boston. If this was any other sport, Boston would be the easy pick in game 7 but I don't know if hockey works the same way. I hope it doesn't because I'm rooting for Vancouver (my wife bought me a sweet Canucks throwback a few years ago and I've had a soft spot for them ever since).
  12. So that guy built a "Route of All Evil" Bender and a MAME TARDIS? He must be running for king of the nerds. And I, for one, salute him.
  13. Not exactly. They've had a few terrible shows. They do have a generally good track record though.
  14. I hate having this feeling (I'm not quite there yet, even for Yuni, but I have been many times in the past). It sucks to have to root against guys on your favorite team but it's sometimes necessary. It's definitely the sign of a poorly managed team when there are like 6-7 guys worthy of this treatment even when the team is contending.
  15. Well, he's been quoted as saying that Latin players, in general, don't walk a lot because they have limited options to get noticed by scouts, and 'you don't get to the majors by walking'.What's his excuse for not being able to hit or field?
  16. I just had to laugh when the announcers related last night that, according to management, Yuni "deserves" more of a chance. Sometimes all a person can do in the face of such absurdity is laugh. I mean, if they want to give him more of a chance, fine, it's their team and their jobs on the line. But how does Betancourt "deserve" anything from this team? A guy who's been on the team for only a few months, was forced on the team in a trade, has been terrible for years, can't hit, can't field, is being paid by Milwaukee at least 4 times what he is worth, and is known as a loafer who doesn't care. I really can't see how that adds up to "deserving" anything.
  17. "A clock on my chest proves I don't fess" -Flava Flav, 1988 As for Flav in general, if Chuck D liked him, that's good enough for me.
  18. I don't understand why managers and GMs will sometimes allow a middling pitcher to dictate the use of one of the team's roster spots. Tony Gwynn's friendship with Prince and Rickie wasn't enough to keep him on the team but for some reason Randy Wolf has the ability to decide who should be on the team? Annoying. Can't wait until Wolf is gone.
  19. That is very nice. Pretty fun too, probably the 2nd best one I've seen, behind only the Pac-Man anniversary.
  20. I was insulting him more as a person than as a pitcher. I may have been too oblique about it.
  21. False, 100% false. Baseball has always been a man's game. It started as a game for adults and it has never stopped being one. Yes, boys play it as well, but only because they wish to emulate the adults who do it. I'm not sure why people love this fallacious cliche so much but it is annoying.
  22. I'm wondering if the young men enjoy his "mentoring" as much as he does. I kind of doubt it.
  23. That was pretty nice, as was his steal. I'm not saying Craig is done but I think it's important to note that by the time a guy reaches a top level professional sports league (whether it's MLB, the NBA, the NFL, or whatever), he's going to be damn good at that sport, even if he is terrible compared to other people in that league. Thus, literally every single guy in one of those leagues is capable of a nice play from time to time.
  24. Luckily we no longer have to care what Macha thinks.
