  1. Let's see, over the last few weeks we've hit Santana, Oswalt, and Peavey but gotten shut down by Wandy Hernandez (sp?), Darrel May, and this scrub for the Dodgers. What the hell? And the only thing worse than losing to these bad pitchers is seeing them get shelled in their next start. It happened again tonight with May vs. the sCrubs.
  2. What the hell is going on out there? Two HR's, a shot to the wall, and a double off the wall???
  3. Back to back HR's. I can't see real good, is that Ben Sheets out there? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif (Just thought I'd stir things up again!) Seriously though, I'm gonna be sick if we lose this one against what amounts to a AA pitcher.
  4. Leadoff double by Jenkins...Lee, Overbay, and Hall leave him at second. Horrible. And you know what...it might be time to start thinking about pitching carefully to JD Drew.
  5. Opposing hitters are hitting .400 off Houlton this year...the Brewers start off 0-6. Baseball can be a very funny game.
  6. Get ready for a 2-1 loss. We always make guys like this look like Cy Young. Would love to see an easy win.
  7. You know, it's not so much the fact that Jenkins didn't come through in the 9th, but it's just how pathetic he looked. It was as if he had made up his mind that he was going to swing at the first three pitches no matter what....and after two straight walks! Geoff's been a great Brewer over the course of his career but I certainly wouldn't shed a tear if he never suited up for the Crew again.
  8. Oh man. Even after we win I can't feel too excited. The moment the ball left Blum's bat I knew it was gone. It was as if some invisible force just grabbed the ball and knocked it into Jenkins' glove. I can't believe we were *this* close to blowing this game. What the hell was wrong with Turnbow? Credit to Yost for showing he has learned something the past few weeks in taking DT out and putting Santana in. Two weeks ago Ned would have waited until the game was tied to make a move. Nice to get the win although I sure as hell wish it ended a lot more smoothly. Let's get two in a row tomorrow.
  9. I'm going to go change my underwear now.
  10. Oh come on, not another Minnesota choke job. And for the record, if Klesko reaches I'd take Derrick out.
  11. I know I'm probably overreacting, but does anyone else wonder if Turnbow is a bonafide major league closer? I just don't feel comfortable with him closing out a close game. Guys seem to be able to connect with his fastball a little too easily and when they do it goes a long way.
  12. Come on Derrick, I need a nice easy ninth. I can't handle any more stress from this team.
  13. Why the hell does our offense go in the tank when our pitchers are on and the pitching turns to crap when we score some runs? Back to back 2-1 losses as well as a 9-6 loss to Houston and 8-4 tonight. I know the Brewers aren't a great team and never expected them to contend, but it's trends like this that make ordinary losses that much harder to take. The Brewers have one half inning to get back in this game or I'm out.
  14. Woo hoo....hopefully Eaton will be gone before he realizes he's good again.
  15. We can only manage one friggin' run last night against a below average pitcher with an ERA of 5+ and we've got 3 vs. one of baseball's best tonight??? Go figure. Of course we'll probably break out the bats tonight and score 7 or 8 and then Glover will get shelled.
  16. If that's true, we should move to the Pacific Coast League. What's he hitting? .240? And he strikes out 75% of the time?I never realized the state of the Brewers was that pathetic.
  17. We wouldn't be talking about a loss had we played fundamental baseball in the first. Second and third, no outs, and we don't score?! All you need is a ground ball to the right side and a fly ball. No hits are needed and it's two automatic runs! I know we were playing for the big inning but I've seen to many opportunities go by without any runs being scored. How about some small ball with men on base???
  18. Branyan sucks. The only thing that guy does is strikeout. The only good thing about him PH-ing for Miller is that we would have been guaranteed to see Hall hit with two outs instead of a GIDP.
  19. Welcome to third place and below .500 baseball. It will be a long time before we see the sunny side of .500 again. What a crappy way to end what started as a great homestand...and of course the last two games were in front of huge crowds. Houston: 4 road wins all year pre-Milwaukee. 6 road wins post-Milwaukee. Puh-thetic.
  20. ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. Way to come through in the clutch guys.
  21. Junior on. Please bunt Geoff! Might as well do SOMETHING productive. EDIT: Like I said. I know it's crazy but I'd love to see Lee bunt.
  22. Game over. The way Pettite is dealing we're done.
  23. Nice pick by Wes. Not. From the HR by Houston in the first, the Brewers not scoring with second and third no one out, and the annoying "Kids Cast" on FSN, this game is going downhill fast.
  24. Just thought I'd add for the Moeller debate yesterday....how come the Cubs can ship off a washed up reliever for two decent prospects and we can't find a way to trade for a halfway decent catcher? Are you telling me we couldn't trade Santana/Phelps (or someone else along those lines) for a backup cather who hits in the .250 range? Chad must have pictures of Yost/Melvin because getting rid of him seems all too easy.
