  1. Congratulations to Ben Sheets on his 1000th strikeout. Now go get 2000 more!
  2. In the context of a professional athlete, I don't know if there's a difference between cockyness and confidence. Given the electricity of the crowd, I can't fault him with getting sucked into the moment a little. It's a rookie mistake. That being said, I can understand, but disagree with Kruk's issue with it. The real issue is respect--I don't think it was an overly long look, and he didn't glare at the pitcher or the opposing team. And even if he did, it's hard to call him out on that when he's facing a team with a pitcher who regularly beats his chest and yells into the opposing dugout when he gets a key strikeout.
  3. Good morning, Alfonso Soriano.
  4. Anyone know what Ryan Braun's bizarre walkup music is?
  5. The natives are quickly growing restless
  6. Ryan Braun goes through the oddest contortions when he's getting stretched out.
  7. Well, it's been one game, and Braun is already out OPS-ing Counsellino, that's good, right? Would have been nice to see the guys beat this one out, but that's a pretty tall order when you're down by 7.
  8. TTO% is the only statistic I need to judge the value of a player...
  9. I have a good feeling about this game. And I've had a bad feeling about the last two games. My prediction: 6-4, Hart HR, Soup goes 7, Turnbow with a clean hold. edit: so it actually makes sense

  11. They might as well be putting the ball on a tee right now.
  12. I'm gonna try and make it down and take some photos.
  13. LETS GO PIRATES
  14. Trent Durrington was called to pitch in a 12-6 blowout of the Pawtucket Red Sox vs the Buffalo Bisons. After walking in two runs, he was able to record one out. In the bottom of the 9th, the Bisons were able to rally for 5 runs to give Trent the victory.
  15. Is the opposing pitcher the only player in the majors whose name consists of 4 body parts?
  16. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  17. Another almost GIDP for Mench... has the clock struck midnight?

  19. An exciting ending to a mostly excruciatingly boring game. Schmidt transforms into Steve Trachsel in high leverage situations. I somehow knew the game was over when Prince didn't hit a home run. Saito's command problems seemed to dissapear when he pitched from the stretch. I defend Nedly's decision to hit away, with three honest-to-goodness hitters coming up it doesn't make sense to waste any outs to gain a minimal probability to score one run. The contact play, however, made absolutely no sense to me. If you're that desparate to score one run, why not just suicide squeeze? Left Field really had it out for Luis Gonzalez, continuing the "you suck" chant while he was at bat, at 1st base, at 2nd base, and even after he was taken out of the game. Unfortunately Right Field had to follow suit and take it out on Brady Clark. Really, what did he ever do to Milwaukee? Do all ex-utility outfielders get the same treatment? edit: last part about crowd
  20. How dare you dishonor the cream of mushroom soup, the tie the binds green bean casserole w/ tater tots together!
