  1. Here's an article at Baseball Prospectus by blowhard Joe Sheehan that basically echoes what most of us have been saying for some time: Article No mention of the Braun defensive replacement, though.
  2. I'll be out back sacrificing some goats to ensure Bushy doesn't suck tonight.
  3. I'm sorry, I must have missed something, is there a test for HGH now? This smells like a smear job to me, although it's completely concievable that he may have enlisted the help of some chemical assistance to aid his recovery.
  4. I see Hart as the most projectible, his body may fill out and he could be a serious power threat in his peak years, so I think he's the best bet to lock up. Fielder and Braun look to pay the most dividends while they're under the control of the Brewers, but the next couple years will tell if Braun can stick at 3B. Too early to say for LaPorta.
  5. Mrs. Wopat will make an asian slaw, I'll bring a case of schlitz or some similarly swill macrobrew, and a folding card table.
  6. The ESPN commentators are ribbing on Yost for using Aquino.
  7. Although I like this move, which I have asked for quite some time, I agree with patrickgpe: why wasn't this done earlier? A little anti-jinx: Here's the final piece to the puzzle.
  8. It's hard to have the knee-jerk reaction that I'm the customer, and the customer is always right. It's also easy for me to grandstand with something like "If Ned Yost is not fired I will not renew my season tickets."
  9. Chat room not working... Brewers Live not broadcast... Scoreboard at the top of the TV broadcast not working... Even PitchFX is on the fritz... what gives?
  10. I moved to Wisconsin in January 1983.
  11. Got mine today... I assume I'm not the only one who doesn't recognize the irony of receiving them the day they're no longer in first place.
  12. Maybe Nedly is trying to use Dusty's Dugout Dice: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3867/801/1600/dusty_dice.jpg
  13. Yeah, that CHI series looks to be huge... anyone interested in meeting up at a bar or something?
  14. Ok US DOJ, here's your cue, let the indictment begin!
  15. 1) Score runs 2) Prevent Colorado from scoring runs 3) Lock Ned Yost and Cordero in the humidor 4) ???????????? 5) Profit!
  16. They removed Spotted Cow out of the Loge level beer vendor on the 1B side... is it gone everywhere?
  17. Remember when the Brewers had no lefties in the pen? Which begs the question, if a readily-available LOOGY can have this much success when deployed properly, why did Doug go for so many years without one? Or is Shouse just this good ?
  18. Has anyone ever noticed the card he keeps in his back pocket with the defensive alignments? When I was at Wrigley in the bleachers (don't ask), someone was getting on him, telling to "check the card" and that the "card was wrong".
  19. It's nice to see the Jeff Kent school of clubhouse chemistry isn't a lost art. In all seriousness, I'm sure Ned Yost is feeling the presssure as much as the players, and would assume he has his theories as to why the team is underperforming. And I think it's highly unlikely that it's the personality of all 25 guys to lay down and do what they're told, especially the grizzled vets like Graffy who know that the only thing scrappy battlers have to look forward to is being a free agent bargain. Nor do I find it likely that there are n't people who think the team could use a little fire, even at the cost of some of the personal relationships. As Casey Stengel once said, "The key to being a good manager is keeping the people who hate me away from those who are still undecided."
  20. Looks like the EZBoard -> Yuku transition ate my last post. I'll be there.
