  1. That ball was hit really hard (yuni's groundball. and doumit's homer I suppose). Even with having to check the runner, it would have been a DP. And yes, it's always better to have a man on third, but with two outs the difference isn't really that significant. I don't like to see the baserunning error either, they've been frustrating this season....but I'm just making the point that it wouldn't have made much of a difference in the course of that inning.
  2. always annoying to see bad baserunning. But if Fielder stays at third, it's a man on third with two outs. The end result of Prince getting caught was a man on second with two outs. Obviously a little bit worse, but not really that big of a deal.
  3. Vehemently? How bad was it? He just kept at it for too long. It was well deserved.
  4. How was the crowd? I went last night to see Lincecum/pick up a bobblehead and the place was barely half full. Good team in the playoff hunt along with a bobblehead and people still don't go. Atlanta is a weird city. I enjoyed telling my buddies that Milwaukee sold out their 1 PM start that afternoon.
  5. Unless you work Saturday morning, in which case it's a mild bummer. If the magic number reaches 30 tonight, it'll be up to you guys to update the thread.Yep. The only thing that can make up for that is if there's another rain delay tomorrow so I can catch some of the game when I get off work at 7. Although I'm assuming I'm one of the few who would be cheering for another rain delay.
  6. Looking at the radar it seems like a storm that should pass. Whether something develops behind it is another story, but I think they'll have a window to play. I say the game starts in an hour.
  7. he looked fine for 5 hitters. Don't remember what the pitch to Barajas looked like, but the one to Carroll definitely caught way too much of the zone for an 0-2 pitch.
  8. Halladay is the favorite, but I don't think he's head and shoulders above the competition. Halladay, Hamels, Lee, Kershaw, and Lincecum all have ERAs between 2.53 (Halladay) and 2.84 (Lee). All have a WHIP between 0.99 (Hamels) and 1.15 (Lincecum). And they all have impressive K rates, Kershaws being the best (9.89) and Hamels being the lowest at 8.11. Lincecum probably gets unfairly downgraded due to his 11-9 record, but everyone else has 13-15 wins. It's a close race.
  9. Kotsay starts April/March: 13 (Hart injured) May: 12 (Morgan injured) June: 6 July: 11 (Braun injured) August: 3 Total: 45
  10. gotta think that's it for marcum. Did a good job of getting out of it to pujols, but he still doesn't look right. If his spot makes it up in the order he has to be pinch hit for...and if it doesn't Lopez should be out in a double switch.
  11. wait, prince made a decent throw home? whaaaaa? he was probably safe.
  12. there aren't many things that make me happier than seeing pujols strike out looking.
  13. That ones going to sting for a bit. At least until they win tomorrow
  14. 4 steps is a lot for furcal to make up. It's definitely not a play you should expect your ss to make, and I really don't think furcal would have made it
  15. Furcal would not have had that. He probably makes the play on hollidays hit, but I don't think anyone makes it to Berkmans ball
  16. to be fair, if the brewers had a lefty in the pen, he would have been used a long time ago
  17. Thats a long drive (that cant be done in 1 day), why not fly? It's only about 13 hours, can be done in a day. Have to bring the dogs along, so the girlfriend wanted to drive. It's not too bad, but sleep would be good
  18. Dear brewers, I have to drive from Atlanta to Wisconsin tomorrow morning. Some sleep would be excellent. Help a brother out t plush
  19. I hope it doesn't come to this (cause they should just win now)...but I have this strange sense of confidence in Craig counsel if it comes down to it. And yes, I'm likely crazy and just a touch drunk. 4 hour baseball games will do that to you
  20. Come on ax, just get it to prince in a tie game. He'll take care of the rest
  21. Wow. What an awful pitch to swing at. Thank you for pinch hitting Ryan theriot TLR
  22. Not really. He's been low with most of his pitches, outside of the yadi double
