  1. I know what you're saying, but Hart is getting up there with men on (someone just mentioned how Weeks has scored on all of his homeruns the past two days). I wouldn't have a problem with Hart hitting fifth, but I'm comfortable with him at two. Lucroy is hot right now so he would look great in the two hole, but I really don't think it's sustainable. I think he deserves to move up in the order, but to 6 or 7....i don't think throughout the course of the season he's a #2 hitter.
  2. "take away the 0-4 start, and that 2-8 road trip, and the brewers have actually been really good this year!" Thank you, Bill.
  3. doesn't matter if he was trying to. most umps are going to interpret it like that and toss the player.
  4. it probably shouldn't be an "automatic ejection", but almost every umpire in the league will toss a player for something like that. Braun should know that.
  5. did he say that hart isn't an everyday player, or that hart can be very streaky and sometimes can benefit from a day or two off in a week where he's not hitting well? I'm not trying to be condescending, I just haven't read the quote that you speak of. Because if he said/meant the latter, he's correct. When Corey isn't swinging the bat right, his timing is all of and he just isn't enjoyable to watch. I have no problem with him getting a day or two off if that's the case.
  6. Not a very close play with Gomez there. Not the smartest move to a) try and take third on a hit to left and b) do it on a left fielder who is fast and has an arm (i.e. not carlos lee)
  7. It took a while for me to find a way to illegally watch this game...so I missed the first couple rough innings from Marcum. But he has been fantastic in the last 4. I think it's good karma for sticking it to MLB/Fox for trying to force the subway series on me.
  8. That was one of the best baseball games I've seen in a really really long time. I feel like I would say that even if I wasn't a Brewer fan (I probably wouldn't have stayed up til 1 AM watching it of course)...but obviously that makes it that much better.
  9. gomez hit a line drive to lead off, ball bounced into the diving CF's glove. It was clear in real time that it wasn't a catch, and seeing it in slow motion it wasn't even close.
  10. that's because the infield shifts for just almost every batter, many of whom are right handed...so weeks is always starting pretty close to second base to begin with.
  11. should have been a walk off for rickie right there....thanks blue. get it done anyway boys.
  12. Estrada threw 12 pitches, Hawkins threw 16, and hopefully Axford follows their lead (crosses fingers). If he does, no relievers are burned through and they should be available tomorrow (except maybe hawkins...not sure if they want to use him back to back). Either way, they've only used two relievers each of the past two days...the bullpen is in fine shape as of right now, and they didn't need to use Estrada for three innings. get it done ax.
  13. wow, i dont think there's anyway denorfia was out there. guess they owed us one. but wow.
  14. Yeah thats awesome, if anyone is at the game please comment on Brewer fan attendance. I went to a few Brewer games in San Diego two (maybe three?) years ago. The brewer fan attendance was really impressive both days, and I feel like for whatever reason it always is when I see them in Petco on TV.
  15. And costing us the opportunity to add several others with the bat. Zing! he did help create a run in the third when he stole second. so he's got that going for him. I want him out of the 2 hole as much as everyone else, but he did do some positive things tonight (and some very negative ones). Like someone just said, get him out of the 2 hole and it's a lot easier to appreciate him for what he is.
  16. Greinke's pitched really well, the results just haven't quite been there. But 20 K vs. 2 BB is pretty fantastic, and looking at his peripherals his HR/FB% has doubled so far this year on top of the fact that his strand rate has dropped about 30%. All of those are a product of a small sample size and some bad luck. The only thing that would maybe worry me is his velocity being down a little bit (91-92 so far compared to 93-94 normally), but it seems to be increasing a little bit each start, as he gets into form. He will be fine.
  17. He only threw 5 pitches yesterday, so he's probably the most rested out of everyone in the bullpen (besides Ax. and Mitre I guess). I think they might keep Estrada in, probably depends on the situation when the 9 spot comes up. edit: forgot about dillard getting called up.
  18. It seems kind of relevant, considering it's his only exposure to major league pitching. And to answer this question, you're right...there isn't that much. He's a really good player, and is only going to get better. I hope he keeps getting on base like he is now, but I don't think it's going to happen. An OBP in the .330's seems like a fair guess to me, which is still very nice out of a catcher, but not someone you HAVE to put in the two hole
  19. Check the link. When has he ever done anything besides get on base in his entire pro carrer? http://firstinning.com/players/Jonathan-Lucroy-a/ EDIT: I never said he would stay at or above .371. I do think he will carry a better OBP that your suggested "better options" through out the year. last season in milwaukee.....?
  20. I don't really agree with the reasoning for keeping him there, but it IS really nice to have production at the bottom of the order/the 8 spot. Of course it would probably be nicer to have that production out of the 2 hole....but I don't want to get into that argument, it's been beaten into the ground enough. Just keep hitting lucroy.
  21. Don't see what the big deal is about using Loe. He had two days off, and (hopefully) that's the only batter he'll face. Good to see him go get a guy out and maybe get some confidence back. Don't think 5 pitches is that big of a deal.
