  1. Even when Davis swings hard, it's much more controlled now. He's really on the ball. Just missed that last one.
  2. Take that break for Carlos. Got bailed out of a bad base running error.
  3. Geeze Khrush...hero to goat in a flash. Out by a mile. Guess you get that once in awhile with the younger players.
  4. Great AB by CarGo...could pay off later. 24 pitch inning for Hammel.
  5. If the Brewers are looking to bolster their roster with a midseason pickup, is Wang a guy they could move?
  6. I think everyone like Braun hitting second since we know RR won't ever have him bunt.
  7. 107 pitches was plenty...seeing eye infield single away from a "quality start"...but I'd call it pretty high quality.
  8. Their lineup isn't half bad against LHP. Going against Wolf makes it even better, but this team should mash LHPs.
  9. Nelson is going to be a good one...he's got the rookie nerves today, but the big boy can pitch. 5 innings may be it with his pitch count. We get another 6 runs we can show them our Wang. These starters go 8 deep. They're going to keep us in this thing until they get healthy and the bats come around.
  10. Just read comment in the last IGT about bullpen initiative, and that is why I am commenting here. How was the bullpen supposed to pick up the phone and ask RR what was going on when he was out on the mound getting Kintzler? There would be no need for a single one of those guys to be calling the dugout. Their entire careers they wait in the bullpen until they get a call from the dugout and then follow that direction. Nothing would make me expect them to do something different. First off, yes this is on RR and it is a little unclear what exactly happened. One thing they did mention was Maldy going down to warm up a second pitcher, then no one warmed up since they didn't make the call. If they were confused at that time, you would have thought someone would have picked up the phone and asked. Maybe the pitchers, maybe Maldy, maybe Hanel.. Who knows. Then again, maybe no one had any reason to think anyone would be warming up until RR went out to the mound. It's not clear, but you'd think if there was any question someone would have shown some initiative and asked what was going on. Maybe I'm asking the question or speculating rather than accusing anyone. It's still not clear to me what the complete chain of events were.
  11. Rumor has it RR mistakenly had the team fly back to Milwaukee last night, he didn't realize this was an away series. The players thought it didn't make sense but nobody said anything.
  12. Posted this on the IGT (this is a better place for it, hadn't seen the topic)...looks like the view isn't as different as I had thought... "I'm going to go a little contrarian here... I actually like Hamilton and Block on the radio. It's a big difference from Ueck and nothing will ever really live up to him, but Hamilton makes a good sub. I've also never been a Block fan. He just can't carry the air on his own. He does however do a better job in the traditional PbP/Color team format versus the turns he takes with Bob. Makes me think Block is just a bad fit for the Brewers while Bob is still around, but he's probably a better announcer than I've given him credit for."
  13. As dumb as last night was, and it really is on Roenicke, if the guys in the bullpen were so confused and upset...why doesn't one of them pick up the phone and ask them what's going on. It just seems a little initiative by someone could have gone a long way. If the General is going to march you through a mine field, wouldn't someone want to mention it to him?
  14. About as dejecting of a loss as there is. Cue the sports talk filleting of RR...

  16. Braun starting to remind me a little of Molitor. Just constant nagging injuries that kept him from being on the field consistently, but still a star when healthy. The NL moving to the DH would be good for him.
  17. Braun can look like garbage then rip a rope to RC. Probably goes 4/5 tomorrow.
  18. Lohse talking during that at bat...wonder if he was jawing about the late timeout to Simmons. He didn't look happy about it on the mound.
  19. According to fangraphs, the Brewers had a 11.9 pct chance of winning when Wang came in. Probably less if you adjust for Kimbrel vs. the bottom of a bad order. Tough to pin a loss on a manager when it was a pretty long shot to begin with. We also don't know what the situation is with Smith and Thornburg. RR may have felt it was better to rest them versus using them on a low pct chance to win and the side benefit of forcing them to use Kimbrel.
