  1. An old baseball coach used to tell me a RH hitter with a hard ground out to 2B is locked in...Rickie had the same thing before the hits. I get what they're doing with limiting his plate appearances. If they are really playing for 2015-16...that's fine, I concede the point on vesting. That's the path I would pursue as a franchise as well. However, there is no question if they want to win games now...Rickie should be in there every AB he can get.
  2. Great piece...7 tool player, that's awesome. This kid does something special every night. The energy he brings has to be the highlight of a dreary 2013 (along with the rise of Gomez). He's so easy to root for. My younger daughter has adopted Jean as her new favorite player now that Prince is gone...I quote, "Wow, Daddy, he's fast"
  3. Francisco .212 AVG Weeks .213 AVG Betancourt .215 AVG Weeks OPS is 648 Bentancourt is 608 Francisco is 473 slight difference. Weeks is OPS of 786 over the last 30 team games of which he's played 22. He had a horrible start, but he's coming around. I'm sorry he stole your puppy dog vegas but your Weeks hate is irrational and tiresome.
  4. If they really want to attempt to get back in it, I'd have Rickie out there every day. Yes, you heard me...every freaking day. Weeks reverting to his mean is a better bet and has way more upside than marginal guys like Yuni, Bianchi or Scooter. Let Scooter continue to develop in Nashville. If Weeks doesn't turn it around, it's not hurting anything at this point...they're basically out of it. Scooter can come up after the break when they've traded some guys and are throwing in the towel. These moves smack of mid-00s just trying to do something even if it makes no sense just to placate the fans. Its like RR and DM are listening to too much sports talk radio or reading the jsonline threads. Makes no sense to me.
  5. Maybe it's the team...or maybe it's the threads have turned into brewergripe.net. The lineup stinks, Ron stinks, Rickie stinks, Ax stinks, blah blah blah...
  6. Big fan of Kemp. Just watching the way he conducts himself out here makes me really like him. I always see him signing autographs for the kids before the game...he's very nice to them too. He even drags Ethier over there and has been a good influence on him.
  7. We look like Little Leaguers against these guys. Good lord Marco.
  8. He was really bad and deserved being demoted. He was demoted. RR was fairly quick on the trigger in removing him from the closer spot. He eased him back in with low leverage situations while he rebuilt his control and got his velocity back. He pitched better including 6 straight scoreless outings. He's moved back into an 8th inning role, then finally gives it up yesterday. As pointed out, a seeing eye broken bat single, a HR off a pitch out of the zone and a flare. The single to right was well hit off a pitch in the zone, but that was it. I can't even blame Rickie for a bad bounce when he was going for the ball. These things happen, but everyone is so sensitive to the two of them for past failings they can't look at the situation for what it is. The hardest hit strike was the one off of Gonzalez. This site has taken on such a negative tone. Maybe that's just a reflection of a more demanding fanbase.
  9. I'm going home, putting on my Rickie Weeks jersey and turning the Augie up to 11. My own personal form of rebellion for the haters out there!
  10. I gotta tell ya Yuni...this shoe in my mouth tastes awfully good...
  11. Yuni batting 4th and those awful mustard unis...almost glad I can't make it tonight. I'm thinking Peralta deals big time tonight. Oh, and this just in...Vin Scully is just awesome.
  12. Ripping on Rickie and Augie...this site is starting to get to me. Had fun at the game tonight. Much better vibe than the last two years between McCourt and the fan incidents. The park is alive again...at least between the third and seventh. The Dodgers completely sniffed out the squeeze. I even mentioned it to my daughter that Hairston knows RR and we saw that Gonzalez was sneaking in. That and walking Punto to get to Gonzalez? I know this is the first time RR has had a shiny new toy LOOGY to play with but anyone to Punto is better than anyone to Gonzalez. Not RR's finest game. Nice to see Mr. Braun come through with the long ball for my daughter...she's a big fan. He always seems to hit well in LA. You are forgiven Ryan for not inviting me to the Malibu pad for the BBQ yesterday! We're missing tomorrow but there on Sunday.
  13. Phil Cuzzi is just a horrible umpire. I wouldn't want that guy umpiring our little league games.
  14. Having lived in many different parts of the country, it seems attitudes towards heavy drinking are far different in Wisconsin than other parts of the country. It certainly seems evident to me from reading this thread. In many places .22 would be considered a problem...in Wisconsin it's considered a weekend. Age, having lost people I knew to DD and moving out of the state have certainly changed my perspective on the matter.
  15. Wisconsin's lenient drunk driving laws are a black eye on the state. So many senseless deaths as a result. It's criminal. So disappointed in Yo...but more than anything I'm pissed at him. I'm glad he didn't kill anyone.
  16. Interesting...but it would be DOA with the MLBPA.
  17. I raise. I'll throw in Jerry Augustine, Mark Conccoaacnncan, and generally the entire pre and post game shows. And the sultry FSN girls. That's it...this thread has crossed the line...no blaspheming my man Augie!!! Although you can get rid of those annoying weird girls on the commercials. It looks ugly, but it's still early. Get some bodies back, a reliable arm or two in the pen, and Yo, Lohse, Estrada and Wily all humming...they can rattle off a streak, but at this point they should just put Yuni on the mound...it wouldn't matter.
  18. If this keeps up you may need to add second verse...if you can somehow get intercostal to rhyme you get a plaque on the wall. I personally blame this on the trainers at fantasy camp...they jinxed it by saying that was the busiest week of the year!
  19. Rickie was fine in the second half of 2012 and is hitting .286 through today's 0-4. Despite a few ugly ABs and missteps in the field...it's only been one week! He's not even on the top 100 list of this team's issues yet fans are starting to bag on the guy. Good lord, this team is starting one of the historically worst every day players in MLB history in Yuniesky Betancourt at 1B & 3B and I'm not sure that's even in this team's top 10 problem list.
