  1. Vargas is the only pitcher I can use my 30 sec advance button on my DVR and be guaranteed not to miss a pitch.
  2. Looked like it was heading foul...but need to make a quick decision there. Can't fault Jason. I'd love to get my haircut by DeFilice...I'm a righty so he'd have no problem polishing me off.
  3. Watching Coco blow a save against the crew...still enjoyable, even at 11 games out in late August.
  4. Although I am not a fan of his, I will grant you that incompetent may be a little strong for Macha (not neccessarily for Dusty). However, they mentioned during the broadcast that Coffey had never pitched more than 2 innings in his ML career (I haven't verified that). He also looked gassed. Plus, we had 4 other pitchers in the pen left (granted, many had been used over the last several days), while they were moving Owings the Wednesday starter down there. It seemed in a war of attrition we had the upper hand. Yet Macha chose to go with a gassed Coffey against their best hitter. Incompetent may be too strong and I apologize, but I still didn't like the move. Great effort by the guys last night though. Great to see them battle like that. Mike Cameron's catch and slide into third were awesome...I love that guy. Also great to see all the bf.netters up late watching some baseball last night...great effort by the fans!
  5. I'm trying not to be so negative, but it's hard not to say our manager didn't just get outgunned by Baker in a tremendous matchup of two completely incompetent managers. Why did I stay up past my bedtime...sheesh.
  6. Asking a lot of Coffey to go three and start with Votto. Weren't we the guys with arms in the pen? Macha fail.
  7. We could see Janish put there before it's over. Quick...get Corporan up here, he's got a huge track record against him.
  8. That ball gets by Nix it's over. Guess we'll settle for the Yo walk off?
  9. How sweet is that to bust a blown save on Coco. That's the first one since he left I think? Awesome. If the Reds fire Baker we should offer to pay his contract for them. Dude is golden.
  10. FYI - Tonight's game is the free TV game on the MLB at-bat app on the iPhone.
  11. They could be 100 games out and it still puts me in a good mood when they win. Bring on the Reds!!!
  12. You have to see the clip of Braun's homer from the Nats broadcast (on Gameday). The Nats announcer(s)..."Ryan Braun 0 for 2 today, strikeout and a pop-up (crack) and a homerun, oh". The guy didn't miss a beat. He called the homer almost as quick as The Doorman fist pump.
  13. Small sample I know, but Alcides hitting .323 and a .815 OPS. Certainly somewhat encouraging.
  14. Great to see Gerut picking it up a little bit...we could really use him next year.
  15. I gladly stand corrected...way to go Jason. Plus they are yanking Yo...happy days!!!
  16. 5 innings and 108 pitches...only one run, but not exactly efficient. I may jump from my office if he sends him back out there next inning.
  17. It's gotta be the injury with Casey. The way he has hit this year, he should be in the lineup everyday yet he isn't. Also, I had thought he was supposed to be a solid defender in the minors yet he's been sub-Gamel this year at 3B. It's gotta be the knee.
  18. You guys are hilarious...he's probably at home right now using "white-out" on all the sigs except Trevor's.
  19. I'm with hawing...1957 pennant clincher hands down. I'd love to see those old Braves, especially a skinny Hank Aaron. I love Hammerin' Hank. Either that or a Negro League game with the Homestead Grays and the Kansas City Monarchs would be really cool...or the '27 Yankees.
  20. We've all had plenty of lean years as Brewers fans, but at least now when we say "Wait 'til next year" we actually mean it. They won't always win and the years like '82 & '08 are too few and far between, but it's not a hopeless cause. There were far too many years when it was. So this year stunk, meh, I've still got the Harvey's Wallbangers DVD, that Cubs game from last year on my DVR and I will soon be counting the days until Pitchers and Catchers report. In the meantime, how sweet was that homer by Alcides today?!?
