  1. Keep in mind the bottom tier of the AL is probably the worst it has ever been. Every top tier team probably won a good 5-10 games more than they would in a more normal year.
  2. The Nationals had the most talent in the NL, the Dodgers are probably 2nd and the Cubs were 3rd. Only 1 of those teams is left. Nationals and Dodgers are both really stacked and really deep, the Cubs had some serious holes.
  3. I've come to understand for me personally it isn't fun to read. It is just frustrating. I'd rather not engage with people like that either since you aren't going to change their minds. Avoiding that kind of thing is why I ended up on this forum back in the day, since more public forums were always just full of these posters.
  4. It was torture until I added about 5 posters to my foe list who were mostly completely negative and wrong about every single thing they said. Forum is so much better now. Nothing worse than an ignorant downer. Final straw was the stupid posts about how Braun made a mistake by getting hit by a batted ball with 2 outs when he is supposed to be running full bore on contact without looking back at the plate. If you don't understand you are wrong here you aren't worth reading.
  5. For those not watching, it was a laser shot that Braun was running on contact since it was 2 outs and it hit his backfoot. Every single runner in baseball does exactly the same thing and Braun did nothing at all wrong. Just people that like to complain over everything doing their thing.
  6. Do you guys really have to complain about absolutely everything, it completely ruins the site. He ran on contact because there were 2 outs, every single runner in baseball is running right there. It was just dumb luck it hit him.
  7. I'm sure there is a local bar that will be playing it. That is how I watch Packer games if I really want to see them here in Alabama.
  8. I know quite a few Brewer fans who have ended up living in Chicago. I could certainly see it.
  9. I feel better about this team just because it isn't as banged up as those two teams were. It is a healthy team and a deep roster.
  10. I hope the team continues its habit of celebrating in the visitors clubhouse.
  11. If the unthinkable were to happen and the game does go extras you are really thin as a team if you use Broxton to PH there. I think its worth it if say Kratz walks and it is 3-0, but at 4-0 this is probably the safer play.
  12. It doesn't have to be Jeffress in the 9th just because he pitched the 8th. It would make sense to use him in the 8th for the heart of their lineup and someone else for the 9th as well. I imagine if given the choice Jeffress will want to go the 9th though.
  13. I was going to ask if Kratz is a really bad pitch framer or if it's just perception today. He is generally known as a very good framer. I never know if those things are accurate or not though. I think he does better at high pitches than low ones usually.
  14. If Chacin is going to look like this every single start he will be a bad pitcher. Of course everyone will take the results, it doesn't mean he pitched a good game. In his defense this is probably mostly due to pitching on short rest.
  15. Kratz has caught 20 of Chacin's last 21 starts & 21 of 24 overall since he joined the team. Jhoulys has an ERA of 3.23 with Kratz behind the dish in those 21 games against a 4.39 mark in 12 games with Manny. Additionally Pina got pretty beat up in the game last night. I could see him feeling it today.
  16. Perez is a slightly above average hitter vs lefties, not really sure it is worth second guessing him here. If it were a righty I totally get it. I mean I guess Arcia is hot and it is nice to play the hot guy, that seems to be the only reason to complain about this.
  17. I disagree. Santana has no use on the team other than pinch hitting. Much better idea to have the versatility on the bench later in the game. Broxton hits lefties about the same as Santana and Granderson is a better option vs righties. I'd expect them to use Santana early all series.
  18. I agree that today is important just because of the Coor's factor. Their best 2 pitchers at home, used to pitching in that environment is scarier than most matches we could have. I really like our chances in game 5 at home with Chacin starting and a rested bullpen. So for me this game could end up being the key to the series. Then again it is baseball so anything can happen.
  19. I just have to say that using Santana early to PH was not a big issue here. Broxton is capable of pinch running, pinch hitting or being a defensive replacement. For his career he is very comparable to Santana vs lefties. The only situation you easily want Santana over Broxton is if you are forced to go RHB vs RHP and we still had Granderson to come in vs a RHP.
  20. This sets up nicely. Hader either pitches the entire 8th or at least through Gonzalez if the pitch count gets high. Jeffress finishes it off.
  21. I think the goal is probably to keep him available tomorrow. At 25 pitches thrown he could probably come in for a couple outs tomorrow, you up that to 30+ and you can't use him.
  22. I think I would have stuck with Burnes for one more inning. If we can avoid 2 innings out of Hader that would be great.
  23. Santana is the most useless guy on the bench outside of pinch hitting and you want to save your best LH guys to face their top RPs. Santana pretty easy choice to PH there.
  24. Sedar had his back to Braun and was watching the ball. That is kind of an awkward spot for a third base coach since looking at the ball means he can't see the runner. It should just be hardcoded in Braun to not take 2 bases on a wild pitch unless it is a really crazy wild pitch though.
  25. I like the idea of being aggressive but the odds of taking 2 bases on a wild pitch are just way too low to even be thinking about it there.
